Steal My Name Ep 75 Batman Vs TMNT & Godzilla Vs Kong & Predator Badlands
2026/10/06
October has arrived and that means it’s all Halloween content all the time! Monsters, madness, and mayhem abounds! For episode 75 of the Steal My Name Podcast we’re kicking off the spooky season with a bang! When it comes to crossovers, more is equals better, so we’re going for three movies this week. Batman Vs The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Godzilla Vs Kong, and Predator Badlands. Join your ghost-host-with-the-most as he dives into the history of cinematic crossovers, what makes them tick, and just how awesome they can be when done right. It’s all about relationships on DS9 with season 4, episode 4, Indiscretion. Major Kira is forced to work with Gul Dukat as they go searching for a long lost prisoner ship. Meanwhile, back on the station, Captain Sisko is getting cold feet when his paramour, Kassidy Yates, talks about moving onto the station. Be sure to like, follow, share, subscribe, and get those decorations up. This episode and others can be found on spotify, soundcloud, and Monday nights on Petrock Radio. Enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 74 Hook
2026/09/27
Sometimes the Steal My Name podcast is a well oiled, laser focused machine. I know exactly what I want to say about a flick and how to go about it. Other times, the reaction I have to a film is so confusing, the show becomes more of a therapy session. For episode 74 of the Steal My Name podcast, it’s the latter. Steven Spielberg’s Hook has should have been an easy episode to knock out, but it sent me for a whirl. What happens when our relationship with a movie changes? How do we process the emotional turmoil that comes along with that? Tune in and find out! Star Trek Deep Space Nine brings the Dominion back into focus with Season 4, episode 4, Hippocratic Oath. Bashir and O’Brien’s friendship is tested when a group of Jem’hadar force them to try and help them get clean from ketracel white. Back on the station, Worf realizes that life on the station is more complicated than he had thought. It’s a master class in high stakes character development in a low key setting. Be sure to like, follow, share, subscribe, and have your own film related therapy sessions. This episode and others can be found on spotify, soundcloud, and Monday nights on Petrock Radio.
Steal My Name Ep 73 Legend
2026/09/08
Anyone else getting a little tired of tribute episodes? Whatever your answer may be, we’re doing another one. Fun, right? With the passing of the incomparable Tim Curry, there was no better time to revisit a film with one of his most impactful performances, 1985’s Legend. While episode 73 of the Steal My Name Podcast started out as a look at the theatrical cut that we all grew up with, the directors cut knocked me for a very unexpected loop when watching both versions back to back. So now we’re talking about theatrical Vs directors cut, it’s a celluloid rumble for the ages!!. How does a very traditional filmic fairytale turn into a near art-house, gothy masterpiece? Tune in and find out. I’ll give you a hint, Tim Curry in an insanely impressive full-body demon makeup plays a huge part. After the two-part banger that kicked off season 4, Deep Space Nine pumps the breaks for Season 4, episode 2, The Visitor. While the action may have been left at the doorstep, the emotional impact is dialled up to eleven as we follow an alternate future version of Jake Sisko as he gives up everything to try and rescue his father from a subspace oblivion. Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, all that good stuff. Tune in Mondays at 6pm on Pet Rock Radio for new and back episodes of the show. Call your friends and family, take care of your brain, and most of all enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 72 Phantasm 3 & A Nightmare on Elm St 3
2026/08/24
“All that was unknown will be known to you once more.” Horror has lost some heavy weights this year with the passing of Reggie Bannister and Chuck Russell. For episode 72 of the Steal My Name Podcast, we’re celebrating the middle age ex ice cream vendor himself with Phantasm 3: Lord of the Dead and the steady hand behind what is arguable the best outing for Freddy with A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. On top of some serious gushing (as a die-hard Phantasm fan, things will get very gushy) we’ll discuss how sequels go about their world building and how that can shape the future of a franchise. Season 4 of Star Trek Deep Space Nine goes all in with the two-part Way of the Warrior. Dominion shenanigans and a coup on Cardassia give the Klingon’s the bright idea to invade everyone’s least favourite Alpha Quadrant neighbour. With the federation at a loss, they realize it takes a Klingon to know a Klingon. Yep, Worf joins the cast for a truly epic episode. Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, all that good stuff. Tune in Mondays at 6pm on Pet Rock Radio for new and back episodes of the show. Call your friends and family, take care of your brain, and most of all enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 71 The Running Man
2026/08/15
Don’t touch that dial!! It’s books and movies this week with another round of Good Movie, Bad Adaptation. On the chopping block for episode 71 of the Steal My Name Podcast is Richard Bachman’s (Stephen King, for those not in the know) 1982 dystopian gut-punch, The Running Man. It’s mean, gritty, delightfully downbeat and not even remotely fit to be an Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle. Join your host as he battles his way through Arnie tropes, chainsaw wielding hunters, and all the corny one-liners you can handle as we dive into whether a movie can butcher an adaptation but still rock. Oh, we’ll also look at Edgar Wright’s version of the flick (he says with greatly feigned enthusiasm). Star Trek Deep Space Nine season 3 comes to a close with episode 26, The Adversary. It’s an absolute banger of a season ender as the crew races again time to track down a changeling saboteur that is hiding on board the Defiant. Seriously, it’s awesome. Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, all that good stuff. Tune in Mondays at 6pm on Pet Rock Radio for new and back episodes of the show. Call your friends and family, take care of your brain, and most of all enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 70 Tremors and Army of Darkness
2026/08/07
All right you primitive screwheads, listen up! When one is little, there are few things cooler than seeing something spooky or scary. It’s a thrill, a rush, a right of passage. But where does one start? It’s a delicate balance between hooking a young viewer and sending them screaming for the hills. For episode 70 of the Steal My Name podcast your eternal monster-kid of a host is taking a look at two perfect ‘gateway/ point of entry’ films for the young seekers of spookables in your life. From the b-movie safety of 1990’s Tremors to the live action cartoon madness that is 1992’s Army of Darkness. So come along for the perfection that is a graboid infested Perfection and learn why you should always be smart and shop at S-Mart. Deep Space Nine indulges in the delightful Trek-trope that is the possession/ inhabitation of the cast episode with season 3, episode 25, Facets. Members of the crew play against type as they take turns hosting one of Dax’s previous owners and it’s a hoot. Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, and all those other good things. Also, tune into Pet Rock Radio Mondays at 6pm to catch back episodes of the podcast. So, stay off the ground, and don’t forget to say the three words perfectly before removing the necronomicon from the cradle. Klatu, barada… necktie... nickel... it was definitely an n word. Enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 69 Jurassic Park & In the Mouth of Madness
2026/07/18
Do you read Sutter Cane? With the loss of the great Sam Neil, we’re deviating from our regularly scheduled programming to celebrate the man with two of his greatest films, Jurassic Park and In the Mouth of Madness. Join your host as he buys a ticket and takes a ride into wonder and madness with two absolute classics that are anchored by exceptional performances by one of the greatest and quietly confident performers to ever grace the silver screen. Star Trek Deep Space Nine returns to Bajoran political and religious shenanigans with season 3, episode 24, Shakaar. Kai Winn is back on her b******t again and ready to push the Bajoran people into civil war in order to keep power. It’s a nice dose of action after a few quiet character episodes. Be sure to like, subscribe, share and or shout however you see fit. And take the time to celebrate the late, great Sam Neil with your favourite of his flicks. Enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 68 Dawn of the Dead
2026/07/03
When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will listen to the Steal My Name Podcast! Stop me if you’ve heard one of these one lately; horror is finally smart, these are elevated horror movies, thinking mans horror. Sound familiar? Sound really dumb? You bet! Horror as a genre has always produced smart, thoughtful films, while never losing it’s desire to entertain. Look no further than the mighty, Dawn of the Dead. That’s the original, 1978 Dawn of the Dead, obviously. Join your host as he digs into all the reasons why smart horror films are nothing new and why George A. Romero’s master class is an absolute classic example. Deep Space Nine stays in the family vein with Season 3, episode 23, Family Business. It’s a Ferengi heavy episode wherein Quark has to return home to answer for his mothers unthinkable crime; earning profit while female! It’s a great, character focused romp. Be sure to like, follow, share, download, yodel in delight, or feast on the living to your hearts content. Enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 67 Avengers Infinity War & Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines
2026/06/19
After a year in silence, the buzz is back!!! The Steal My Name Podcast returns with episode 67 and it’s all about heroes taking a big ole’ kick in the teeth. This week on the show your fearless host is discussing two films in which, despite their best efforts, the main characters lose. How do they get there? What does that mean as an audience member? Is Terminator 3 a little better than you remember? Tune in and find out. Star Trek Deep Space Nine says a lot of big things nice and quiet in Season 3, episode 22, Explorers. It’s all about character work this week. From fathers, sons, fathers and sons, and best friends, this one has it all. It’s great to be back and I hope you will all join me for another round of great film discussion. Please like, follow, subscribe, take good care of your teeth, and most of all enjoy!!!!!
Steal My Name Ep 66 Rogue One and Solo
2025/05/04
May the Fourth be with you!!! To celebrate Star Wars day, we’re kicking off an entire month of content from a galaxy far far away!! For episode 66 of the Steal My Name podcast we’re taking a look at the two films that represent the best and the worst of the Disney era, Rogue One and Solo. These films serve as excellent examples of what we, as fans, want out of Star Wars on the big screen, and what the studio thinks we want. Can you guess which one is which? Tune in to find out! Star Trek Deep Space Nine season 3, episode 21, The Die is Cast, brings this two parter to a close with an absolute bang! It’s a battle of wills between Garak and Odo wherein they end up learning they’re much more similar than either realized. Oh, and the Dominion shows how much a threat they really are to the future of the Alpha Quadrant. So good!! Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, stay hydrated, call a friend, call your siblings, take care of your brain, and trust in the Force!!!
Steal My Name Ep 65 The Batman
2025/04/29
After 80 plus years of storytelling, we all have a different idea of what a Batman movie should be. Are you a fan of the video games? Do you live and die for Frank Millers take on the character? Are you ride or die for the animated series? For episode 65 of the Steal My Name podcast, we’re diving into what may be the most comic accurate (The New 52 run of comics to be exact) Dark Knight we’ve had yet. Matt Reeves The Batman (2022) came out at a time when DC movies on the big screen were in a state of total disarray, so many folks may have overlooked it. But if you give a chance, the rain soaked streets of Gotham have a lot to offer. Deep Space Nine, season 3, episode 20, Improbable Cause, hits hard right out the gate and washes away some of the Mirror Universe stank from last week. Garak steps into the limelight and teams up with Odo to solve a mystery that gets grander and more perilous at every turn. And it’s an unexpected two-parter! Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, stay hydrated, call a friend, call your siblings, take care of your brain, and most of all, enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 64 Captain America The Winter Soldier
2025/04/18
Once upon a time people weren’t mad at the MCU. Crazy right? What better way to celebrate a holiday about a person rising from the grave than to look back on of the great heroes to ever take a nap and then jump up ready to kick ass. That’s right, for episode 64 of the Steal My Name Podcast we’re picking up the shield and charging into battle with, what may be, the best MCU film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. From the 70’s political thriller vibe, to the ever increasing interconnectivity, to the sheer badassness that is the super soldier himself finally getting to kick some serious ass. It’s a classic from start to finish. Deep Space Nine, season 3, episode 19, Through the Looking Glass, takes us back into the mirror universe and the results are… mixed. The mirror universe storyline was never one that hooked me but there are some fun moments to be had. Keep an eye out for a familiar face from Star Trek: Voyager! Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and most of all enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 63 Tombstone
2025/04/11
With the passing of Val Kilmer, we lost a true legend of the silver screen. Whether he was Batman, Iceman, Mad Martigan, or teaching us how to steal a scene in this weeks film, his presence on screen is one that will never be forgotten. To celebrate his legacy, we’re looking at one of the great westerns of the last 30 years, and a study in stealing a scene from some of the best in the business. That’s right, we’re taking a trip to Tombstone, so come along for episode 63 of the Steal My Name Podcast, and be our huckleberry. Deep Space Nine, season 3, episode 18, Distant Voices, indulges in one Treks more silly standards, the “it’s all in their head” episodes. This time it’s Doctor Bashier’s turn to take a run through the rat maze that is his own mind. It’s good silly fun with a scene stealing turn (see… I can stay on message) from everyone’s favourite Cardassian, Garak! Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and most of all enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 62 Waterworld
2025/04/02
As long as we’ve been making movies people have been writing about them. From the industry trades, to fan magazines, to entertainment television shows. Whether critically or callously, film reporting has been an important part of the cinema going experience. For episode 62 of the Steal My Name podcast, we’re taking a look at the media around the media we take in, and how that has changed in the age of the internet. Specifically through the lens of the 1995 film, Waterworld. So trim your sails, clean out your gills, and join in as we discuss how the reporting around a movie can impact our viewing experience and the films legacy. DS9, season 3, episode 17, Visionary, does one of the things that DS9 does best; let’s mess with O’Brien! It’s been a while since Chief O’Brien has been made to suffer and this episode puts him through his paces. All the while he is trying to figure out what is causing him to slip through time (yep!) and if those pesky Romulans are up to pesky Romulan business. Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, show a friend, take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and most of all enjoy!
Steal My Name Ep 61 Hellbound: Hellraiser 2
2025/03/14
For episode 61 of the Steal My Name Podcast, we’re getting down right academic and talking about mythology building. When it comes to horror sequels there is a desire (for both business and creative reasons) to try and world build as the series progresses. This can be risky business. Sometimes we get a mixed up mythology that contradicts itself from film to film. Sometimes we get Hellbound: Hellraiser 2, a film that is a master class in how to add both back story to characters and how to expand mythology without falling on ones face. Deep Space Nine brings the Ferangi back into the spotlight with season 3, episode 16, Prophet Motive. What is Quark to do when the Grand Nagus trades in greed for charity and giving? Try and find out what’s wrong with him of course! The series long redemption of the Ferangi gets a major leap forward in this excellent episode. Be sure to like, subscribe, follow, share, show a friend, take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and most of all enjoy!
