Pressure Into Power: The Hidden Path to Resilient Leadership with Shairose Gulamani
2026/06/09
In this insightful conversation, award-winning executive coach and international speaker Shairose Gulamani explores the reality that pressure is not something to avoid—it is a natural part of a meaningful life. Drawing from more than three decades of experience spanning education, entrepreneurship, leadership, parenting, and caregiving, Shairose shares her core philosophy: resilience is how pressure becomes your power. Together, we explore why so many high-performing leaders appear successful on the outside while quietly carrying exhaustion, overwhelm, and invisible burdens beneath the surface. Shairose explains how accomplished professionals often become so focused on serving others that they neglect their own needs, resulting in chronic stress, depleted energy, and diminished clarity. The conversation dives into the science of pressure and the mind-body connection. We discuss how pressure first manifests through subtle cognitive, emotional, and physiological signals—urgency, looping thoughts, indecision, shallow breathing, tension, and fatigue—and why ignoring these signals can lead to burnout. Shairose offers practical insights into recognizing the difference between reacting and choosing, highlighting the importance of rest, recovery, and recalibration. She reminds us that self-care is not selfish; it is essential maintenance that allows us to show up fully for the people and responsibilities we care about most. This episode is a powerful reminder that resilience is not about carrying more—it is about learning to listen, regulate, and transform pressure into a source of strength, clarity, and sustainable leadership. "When it feels reactive, you're in a pressure state. When it feels intentional, you're operating from resilience." That distinction alone is a powerful takeaway for leaders, caregivers, and anyone carrying significant responsibility.Top of Form   Hashtags #PressureIntoPower #ResilientLeadership #ExecutiveCoaching #MindBodyConnection #LeadershipWellbeing

Easing Into the New You: Finding Purpose After Profound Loss
2025/11/11
When life shatters through unimaginable loss, how do you begin again? In this powerful and heartfelt conversation, grief and wellness coach Tina Weller shares how losing both her husband and son led her to redefine purpose and transform her pain into healing for others. Blending her background in psychology, energy healing, and decades of hospice work, Tina reveals how "easing into the new you" is not about forgetting what was—but learning to live forward while carrying love and memory with grace. From turning a shuttle bus once used for her son's care into the "Miracle Bus" that now carries her mission of hope across the U.S., Tina's story reminds us that even through grief, we can find clarity, courage, and connection again. Through vulnerability and wisdom, Tina invites others to honor their emotions, say their loved ones' names, and accept that healing is not linear. Her compassionate message urges us to take one small step at a time toward rediscovering ourselves after loss—and to remember that it's never too late to begin again.   Key Takeaways Healing begins with accepting that life has changed forever while still cherishing what was. Support systems, including faith and community, play a vital role in navigating grief. Offering practical help—rather than just asking "what do you need?"—is a powerful way to comfort the bereaved. Issues in the Tissues: Healing the Body from the Inside Out
2025/10/28
What if your body could reveal the hidden emotions that shape your health? In this powerful conversation, healthspan coach and two-time bestselling author Haleh Houshim shares her transformative journey from being bedridden to becoming a living testament to holistic healing and longevity. Having overcome autoimmune challenges and domestic violence without relying on medication, Haleh teaches that true wellness begins by healing the emotional wounds stored in our bodies — what she calls the "issues in our tissues." Through mindfulness, self-love, and connecting with nature, she reminds us that every person holds the power to regenerate, realign, and live a life of vitality and purpose. Haleh's story is both humbling and inspiring. She speaks about the importance of self-love as the foundation for health, the role of the subconscious in shaping physical well-being, and the freedom that comes from releasing old emotional patterns. Guided by mentors, she now empowers others to balance their nervous systems, reconnect with their inner truth, and expand their "healthspan" — the number of years lived in joy, not just existence. Key Takeaways: Emotional pain and suppressed stress often manifest physically, creating illness or chronic fatigue. True healing begins with self-awareness and compassion, not medication or quick fixes. Daily grounding practices like journaling, mindful breathing, and connecting with nature help restore nervous system balance. Self-love directly influences vitality, energy, and even financial well-being. You are the master creator of your life — healing and longevity begin with remembering your own power.   About the Guest:  Haleh Houshim is a Healthspan Coach and two-time bestselling author with a bold vision of living beyond 200 years — not just in years, but in vibrant quality of life. Having overcome profound challenges, including being bedridden in 2011 and surviving domestic violence in her twenties, Haleh has transformed her pain into purpose. Now 56 and never having taken medication, she radiates boundless energy and an unwavering passion for empowering others. Rooted in self-love, strengthened by the support of her "King," and driven by a mission to impact billions, Haleh guides others to live with vitality, purpose, and joy. Through her work, she helps people awaken their highest potential and experience their best health and most fulfilling life. Akashic Transmission: The Collective Soul of Earth – March 2025
2025/03/31
There is a trembling beneath the surface of things. A hum. A rising. The world is not breaking— She is becoming. The old systems, built on separation, scarcity, and fear, are now being held up to the light. Not to shame them. But to release them. Like dead leaves falling from a tree that knows it's time to bloom again. The collective soul of humanity is standing at a threshold— one foot in the story of survival, and one foot in the story of remembrance. Remembering the interconnectedness of all things. Remembering the truth that we belong to one another. Remembering that softness is not weakness, and that love is the highest intelligence of the universe. There is grief in this process. Deep, ancestral grief. Grief for what was lost, for what was silenced, for what was never allowed to be. But grief is not the end. Grief is the alchemical gateway. Right now, the Earth is inviting us not to rush into action… but to feel what we've numbed. To sit in sacred pause. To restore what was severed. And in the quiet… A new frequency is anchoring. It sounds like children laughing without fear. It smells like wet soil after rain. It feels like bare feet on sacred ground, and hands reaching out instead of pulling away. The Earth is not asking for perfection. She is asking for presence. For communion. For sacred care. She is calling in the healers. The artists. The guides. The ones who walk between worlds. The ones who remember how to listen to trees and stars. If you are reading this, you are one of them. Your role is not to save the world. Your role is to love it back into harmony— one breath, one word, one act of grace at a time.      Ritual of Collective Remembrance & Recalibration  A Soul Alchemist Ceremony for the Healing of Earth and Humanity You may do this alone, with a small group, or invite others to create a circle across time and space. Use sacred tools that feel aligned: a candle, earth, water, a crystal, or flower petals. Set the space with intention. This is a holy act.   1. Light the Flame of Presence Hold a candle in your hands. Say aloud: "I call in the light of remembrance. I am here to feel, to honor, to restore. I offer this light to the Earth, to the ancestors, and to the generations yet to come." Place the candle before you and take three deep breaths—into your belly, your heart, your womb or root.   2. Touch the Earth (or a stone, leaf, or soil) Feel her pulse. Whisper: "You are not forgotten. I am listening now. May my body become a bridge between worlds. May my actions become prayers."   3. Water of Release Have a small bowl of water nearby. Gently touch it. Close your eyes and silently offer a grief, a fear, a pain—your own, or the world's. Whisper: "I offer this sorrow to the waters of change. Let what is ready to flow… flow. Let what is no longer mine… be washed away." Dip your fingers in the water and anoint your heart, crown, or third eye.   4. Breath of Recalibration Inhale deeply: Truth. Exhale softly: Love. Repeat three times. Then say: "I now align with the rhythm of Earth. I remember who I am. I choose to walk forward as a vessel of harmony."    5. Speak the Earth's Invitation Say aloud: "I am not here to save the world. I am here to love it back into balance. One breath, One word, One act of grace at a time."   6. Closing Gesture Place both hands over your heart. Smile softly—not from the lips, but from the soul. Imagine a golden ripple moving outward from your heart across oceans, lands, skies. Say: "And so it is. And so we rise. Together." Blow out the candle with reverence, and feel the quiet echo of peace settle in your bones.
When Grief Strikes Late: Understanding Delayed Healing
2025/03/17
Grief is not just an emotional experience—it transforms the body, mind, and soul. In this episode of The Grief Alchemist Podcast, Adele Anderson welcomes Jan Janzen, who shares her deeply personal journey through grief after the loss of her husband. Despite a lifetime of personal development, Jan was unprepared for the overwhelming and unpredictable nature of grief. She describes the unexpected emotional collapse she experienced long after her husband's passing and how she struggled with feelings of isolation, anxiety, and physical distress before discovering somatic healing. Jan recounts how attending The Bridge retreat became a turning point, helping her process grief in a way she never thought possible. Through somatic exercises, guided reflection, and intentional shifts in her emotional state, she found a pathway to healing. Now, having integrated these practices into her daily life, she has rediscovered joy, creativity, and a renewed sense of purpose. This episode sheds light on how grief is stored in the body, why healing requires more than intellectual understanding, and how transformation is possible for those who feel stuck in their sorrow. Key Takeaways: Grief is not a linear process, and delayed onset grief can emerge long after the initial loss. Physical symptoms of grief, such as restlessness, sleeplessness, and claustrophobia, can be overwhelming and often misunderstood. Somatic practices, including structured movement, breathwork, and nervous system regulation, can shift the emotional state and bring relief. Healing from grief requires more than knowledge; it requires engaging the body in the process of release. Returning to joy—whether through music, art, or movement—signals the deep integration of grief and healing. ·        Grief isn't just emotional; it's stored in the body. Jan Janzen shares her journey of healing through somatic practices & deep reflection.   SEO Hashtags: #GriefHealing #EmotionalWellness #SomaticHealing #GriefJourney #HealingAfterLoss #TraumaRecovery #ReallyTrusted #MindBodyConnection #GriefSupport #PersonalTransformation Referenced Resources: Jan Janzen's Book: Unscript (Discussed in the episode, focusing on reclaiming personal choice in life) Somatic Healing Techniques (Alphabet exercise, breathwork, and guided reflection discussed as part of The Bridge retreat) HeartMath Institute Research (Referenced indirectly in discussions about nervous system regulation)

90% Of Our Success Can be Limited By Trauma
2024/02/28
Trauma, often lurking in the depths of our subconscious mind, acts as a formidable barrier to our success and well-being. It erects a screen saver, a shield of sorts, that tells us we are no longer safe to take risks or protect ourselves. Despite the integral role of risk in personal growth, we find ourselves paralyzed by resistance, trapped in a cycle of fear and helplessness.   This inner turmoil manifests in various ways. We may fear appearing weak or vulnerable, so we resort to procrastination, self-sabotage, or negative coping mechanisms aimed at numbing the discomfort that accompanies our pain. These behaviors, though seemingly protective, only serve to perpetuate the magnetic energy of trauma within us, keeping us bound in its grip.   But there is hope. By implementing therapeutic principles, we can begin to dismantle the barriers that trauma has erected and pave the way for healing and transformation.   Rule #1: Calm Yourself Through Breath The breath, a powerful tool for regulating our nervous system, holds the key to calming the storm within. Long, slow breaths signal to our fear-driven brain to relax, lowering heart rate, respiration, body temperature, and anxiety levels. Through conscious breathing, we can anchor ourselves in the present moment, cultivating a sense of peace and stability amidst the chaos.   Rule #2: Ground Yourself Through Sensory Awareness Grounding techniques, rooted in mindfulness and sensory awareness, enable us to reconnect with the present moment and anchor ourselves in reality. By paying attention to the sensations in our body—what we see, hear, smell, taste, and feel—we shift our focus away from the tumult of our emotions and into the realm of the here and now. This shift activates our neocortex, the seat of rational thought and problem-solving, allowing us to gain perspective and distance from our overwhelming feelings.   The Science Behind It: The process of identification, or naming our emotions, is a function of the neocortex. When we find ourselves caught up in the throes of intense emotions, we are operating from the middle brain, where instinct and survival mechanisms reign supreme. By learning to shift our attention to the frontal brain, we create a cognitive separation from our emotional experiences, empowering us to navigate them with greater clarity and resilience.   Rule #3: Acknowledge and Explore Your Feelings Acknowledging our feelings is the first step towards understanding and healing them. Take note of when and where certain emotions arise in your life, and explore the underlying meaning and significance behind them. By shining a light on our emotional landscape, we gain insight into the patterns and triggers that perpetuate our trauma, paving the way for deeper healing and self-discovery.   In conclusion, while trauma may cast a long shadow over our lives, it need not define our destiny. Through intentional practice, self-awareness, and compassion, we can begin to dismantle the barriers that hold us back and reclaim our innate capacity for growth, resilience, and inner peace. **Adele Anderson: Empowerment Speaker and Grief Resilience Expert**   Adele Anderson, an NLP Trainer, Homeopath, and Life and Death Coach, is a captivating speaker and grief resilience expert with a unique perspective on navigating profound loss. Embracing Brokenness: The Journey Of Recovery And Resilience With Adele Anderson
2024/02/21
In the tapestry of life, threads of brokenness often weave through the fabric of our existence. We encounter moments of vulnerability, moments where the weight of despair threatens to shroud us in darkness. Yet, within these fractures, lies an undeniable beauty waiting to be discovered—a beauty that emerges from the depths of our struggles, illuminating the path toward healing and hope.   Recovery, in its essence, is a journey of resilience—a testament to the remarkable capacity of the human spirit to mend and grow, even amidst the shattered fragments of our lives. It is a journey marked by grace, kindness, and compassion, where each step forward is a triumph of the soul over adversity.   At times, the road to recovery may seem daunting, veiled in uncertainty and fear. We may find ourselves grappling with wounds that run deep, wounds that threaten to define us. Yet, it is precisely in these moments of brokenness that we unearth our true strength—the strength to confront our vulnerabilities with courage and resilience.   For it is in our vulnerabilities that we find the raw essence of our humanity—the tender whispers of our hearts, longing to be heard and understood. It is in our brokenness that we discover the power of vulnerability—the power to connect deeply with ourselves and with others, forging bonds of empathy and understanding that transcend the barriers of pain and suffering.   In the depths of despair, hope flickers like a gentle flame, illuminating the darkness that surrounds us. It is a beacon of light, guiding us toward the promise of a brighter tomorrow—a tomorrow filled with possibility, resilience, and renewed purpose.   Each day, as we take small steps forward on the path of recovery, we bear witness to the transformative power of grace and compassion. We extend kindness to ourselves and to others, embracing our imperfections with a sense of acceptance and understanding. We recognize that healing is not a linear journey, but rather a meandering path filled with twists and turns, ebbs and flows.   In the embrace of community and connection, we find solace and strength—a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles, that our stories are woven together in a tapestry of shared humanity. It is through our collective resilience that we find the courage to confront our demons, to embrace our vulnerabilities, and to emerge from the depths of despair, stronger and more resilient than before.   As we journey onward, may we hold onto the beauty of our brokenness—the beauty that lies in our capacity to heal, to grow, and to flourish in the face of adversity. May we find strength in vulnerability, courage in compassion, and hope in the boundless possibilities that await us on the horizon.   For in the tapestry of life, it is often the threads of brokenness that shine the brightest, illuminating the path toward wholeness, healing, and grace. **Adele Anderson: Empowerment Speaker and Grief Resilience Expert**   Adele Anderson, an NLP Trainer, Homeopath, and Life and Death Coach, is a captivating speaker and grief resilience expert with a unique perspective on navigating profound loss. Through heartfelt discussions and personal anecdotes, we shed light on positive coping mechanisms such as seeking support, allowing ourselves to feel and express emotions, and finding solace in rituals and creative expression. How Can A Aviator Acronym A.N.C. Help You Heal Your Grief And Better Understand how To Help A Loved-one That Is grieving
2024/02/07
How can an acronym guide us on our healing journey? Aviate - Acknowledge the Emptiness:**    Just as a pilot must maintain control of the aircraft despite turbulence, in grief recovery, In the early days of grief, the weight of loss can feel suffocating, as if the very air we breathe has abandoned us. It's as though our emotional landscape has been stripped bare, leaving us suspended in an empty void where even drawing a breath feels like an impossible task. Maybe we feel unsteady, as if our feet see now ground below. In acknowledging this profound emptiness, we find ourselves confronting the raw reality of our sorrow. Much like a pilot steadying an aircraft amidst turbulence, stabilizing our emotional plane becomes a crucial act of self-compassion. It means recognizing that amidst the vast expanse of grief, it's okay to feel lost and adrift. By acknowledging the emptiness, we grant ourselves permission to navigate the depths of our emotions with gentleness and patience. It's in this acknowledgment that we begin to lay the foundation for healing, finding solace in the understanding that our pain, though immense, is a testament to the depth of our love.  Just as a pilot trust in the stability of their aircraft, we can learn to trust in our own resilience, knowing that even in the emptiness, there lies the potential for renewal and growth. Recognize the void left by loss as a space where memories can eventually serve as fuel for healing. Understand that healing is not a linear path but a series of adjustments. Allow yourself the grace to rise above despair and find solace in the journey.   2. **Navigate - Find Your Compass in Memories:**    Navigating grief is a journey unlike any other, akin to charting a course through uncharted waters.  In these early days of loss, memories can feel like waves crashing against the fragile vessel of our hearts, threatening to engulf us in fresh waves of sadness. I truly felt as if I might drown in my pain. Yet, amidst the tumult, it's essential to recognize that these memories also hold the power to be our guiding lights, our compasses through the storms of sorrow. One memory I recall and leaned into was a promise I made Willis. He said "I know you will be side, but lean on the side of joy" and I took that memory to heart. Memories are not just reminders of what we've lost but also reflections of the love and connection we shared. Know that your grief is individual to you, your loss feels like you are the only person that could feel such pain, because you relationship with your loved one was completely unique and there is beauty In all that you shared together I understand that In the darkness of grief, it's easy to feel adrift, lost in a sea of pain and longing. But if we allow ourselves to lean into these memories, to let them be our North Star, they can illuminate the path forward, even in the darkest of times. Each memory can eventually become a beacon of hope, a reminder that though the pain may be overwhelming today, we are not alone in our journey. As we navigate the complexities of grief, may we find solace in the beauty of these memories, allowing them to guide us towards healing and eventual peace.   Communicate - Share the Sky of Sorrow: In the vast expanse of grief, having a support system can truly be a lifeline. It's like having a beacon of hope illuminating the darkest corners of our sorrow. I found talking/ blogging about my pain, journal my sorrow to be soo cathartic. Putting my pain on paper, was healing and there is science to support that Much like pilots rely on communication with air traffic control to navigate safely through the skies, sharing our grief with trusted companions allows them to fly alongside us, guiding us through the turbulence. In these moments, being a "wingman" means more than just offering a listening ear; it's about standing in solidarity, offering strength, coping and resilience strategies for us when our wings feel too heavy to carry the weight of our sorrow alone. Having a wing-woman means allowing and expressing your emotions a sacred and supportive airspace where healing can take flight, where tears are met with empathy and pain with understanding. In the company of those who care, who can ease anxiety, open new avenues to heal, grief becomes less isolating, less suffocating, as we learn to lean on a person that can hold space for comfort, healing and companionship. Effective Grief Communication Strategies, Preparedness Over Scaredness, Curiosity Over Questions With Adele Anderson
2024/01/31
The way we communicate with someone who is grieving can significantly impact their experience. Not always asking direct questions but offering support through statements aligns with effective communication strategies in grief support.   1. **Avoiding Direct Questions:**    Many people, when faced with grief, find it challenging to express their emotions in response to direct questions like "Are you okay?" While the intention behind such questions is often genuine concern, it can be overwhelming for the grieving person. They may not want to burden others with their pain or may find it difficult to articulate their feelings in the moment. Research in grief psychology suggests that open-ended statements, like the one you mentioned, can create a more comfortable space for the grieving person to share when they are ready.   2. **Expressing Thoughtfulness:**    Saying, "I've been thinking about you, so wanted to reach out to say hello," communicates care and thoughtfulness without putting the grieving person on the spot. It acknowledges their presence in your thoughts and offers an invitation for them to share at their own pace. This approach is aligned with the concept of creating a supportive environment for the grieving individual to open up when they feel ready.   3. **The Impact of Empathy:**    Empathy plays a crucial role in effective communication with someone who is grieving. Instead of focusing solely on their emotional state, express empathy by acknowledging the challenges they might be facing. Phrases like "I can't imagine what you're going through, but I'm here for you" convey support without requiring the grieving person to provide specific details.   4. **Studies on Communication in Grief:**    Studies in grief communication have emphasized the importance of active listening and providing a non-judgmental space for the grieving person. A study published in the "Journal of Counseling Psychology" highlighted that expressions of empathy and understanding are more beneficial than probing questions.   5. **Non-Verbal Communication:**    Beyond words, non-verbal communication is also crucial. Simple gestures like a gentle touch, maintaining eye contact, or offering a hug can convey support without the need for words. Non-verbal cues often speak louder than verbal expressions and can provide comfort to the grieving individual.   In summary, your approach of reaching out without directly asking probing questions aligns with the principles of empathetic communication in grief. Creating a safe and supportive space allows the grieving person to share their feelings when they are ready, fostering a more meaningful and healing connection. Segment 2: The Power of Asking Questions One of the keys to unlocking new possibilities in our grief journey is by asking questions. Certainly, employing curious questions can be a powerful way to navigate conversations with someone experiencing loss. These questions are designed to show genuine interest, foster understanding, and open up avenues for the grieving person to share their feelings. Let's explore five curious questions that can facilitate meaningful conversations:   1. **Question of Reflection:**    - "I've been thinking about you and wondering if there are any particular memories or moments that bring a sense of comfort or warmth when you think about your loved one. Would you be open to sharing any of those memories?"      This question invites the grieving person to reflect on positive aspects of their relationship with the departed and provides an opportunity for them to share cherished memories.   2. **Question of Expression:**    - "Everyone experiences grief differently, and I'm curious about how you've been expressing or coping with your emotions. Is there something that has been particularly helpful for you during this time?"      This question encourages the grieving individual to express their emotions and share coping mechanisms, helping both parties understand the unique ways grief is being processed.   3. **Question of Support:**    - "Navigating loss can be an emotional journey. Are there specific ways you find support or moments when you feel most supported by those around you? I'm interested in understanding how I can be there for you."      This question demonstrates a genuine desire to provide support while recognizing that each person's needs may differ. It opens up a conversation about the type of support that would be most beneficial.   4. **Question of Remembrance:**    - "Grief often brings a mix of emotions, and sometimes it's challenging to find the right balance between remembering and moving forward. Have there been moments where you found comfort in remembering your loved one, or is it a process you're still navigating?"      This question acknowledges the complexities of the grieving process, encouraging the individual to share their experiences with remembering their loved one and finding a balance between honoring the past and moving forward.   5. **Question of Future Narratives:**    - "As you navigate this journey of grief, have you discovered any unexpected sources of strength or resilience within yourself? I'm curious about the personal insights or changes in perspective that may have emerged."      This question invites the grieving person to explore their personal growth during the grieving process, emphasizing the potential for resilience and strength that can arise from challenging circumstances.   By incorporating these curious questions into conversations, we can create a supportive and understanding environment that allows the grieving person to share their experiences, emotions, and insights on their own terms.   In speaking with many clients navigating their losses, I have noted a theme. Friends and family often struggle to communicate, and the griever finds themselves consoling others, rather than receiving the support.   Segment 3: Surrendering to the Experience In Michael Singer's book, we find the idea of surrendering to the flow of life. How can we apply this principle to our grief? Surrendering doesn't mean giving up; it means letting go of resistance and allowing ourselves to be fully present in the experience. We'll delve into the transformative power of surrender and how it can bring a sense of peace amidst the storm of grief.   As we wrap up this episode of Good Grief Relief, let's remember that preparedness, curiosity, and surrender are not just concepts but tools we can use to navigate the challenging terrain of grief. By embracing these principles, we open ourselves up to healing and growth.   Thank you for joining us today on Good Grief Relief. If you found this episode helpful, please share it with someone who might benefit. Remember, in the journey of grief, there is hope, strength, and the potential for profound transformation.
