Missouri voters are casting ballots in November on several proposed constitutional amendments, including Amendment 7. State Sen. Adam Schnelting (R-St. Charles County) sponsors 7. His proposed constitutional amendment would amend Missouri's Constitution to establish a permanent endowment fund to support state government, rather than taxing Missouri residents. While some critics worry about the impact on services, Senator Schnelting tells listeners that Missouri could be a model for this. Amendment 7 would create what he calls the Show-Me Prosperity Fund:

Eliah Drinkwitz’s #13 Missouri Tigers will face Trinidad Chambliss and #9 Ole Miss Saturday afternoon at Vaught-Hemingway in Oxford. The Tigers are 5-1 and 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference. Saturday’s game kicks off at 2:30 at Hollingsworth field. We learned more details about downtown Columbia crime today on 939 the Eagle's "Sunday Morning with Ken and Brian." Columbia police chief Jill Schlude joined hosts Ken Rice and Peter Thiele live in-studio. Columbia's city council heard a 22-page presentation this week about downtown Columbia crime trends. The report says crime in downtown Columbia has increased 48 percent in the past year. Chief Schlude addressed that, CPD's current 17 vacancies, the help CPD will get from August's Proposition One, scanner traffic and the Reign bar during the interview:

The Mid-Missouri Board of Realtors says August single-family home sales fell about 13 percent in Boone County. The median single family home price in August in Boone County stayed at about $350,000 and Columbia's dropped $950 to about $356,000. REMAX Boone Realty chief executive officer Elizabeth Mendenhall joined Fred Parry in-studio for the hour Saturday morning on 939 the Eagle's "CEO Roundtable." She notes they have about 160 agents between REMAX Boone Realty and REMAX Jefferson City. Ms. Mendenhall is a sixth-generation realtor here and notes the Mendenhall family has been in the real estate business in Boone County since 1894. Fred and Ms. Mendenhall also discussed her father Richard, the issue of affordable housing and her recent role and what is called NAR:

Former FBI deputy director and former Missouri attorney general Andrew Bailey announced last week that he's stepping down to return to his family in Missouri. He'll speak Tuesday evening at the Boone County GOP annual chili supper at Columbia's American Legion. Mr. Bailey served as Missouri’s 44th attorney general. He joined Jennifer Bukowsky on "Wake Up Missouri", telling listeners that violent crime has been a massive drop nationwide thanks for President Trump's leadership and priorities. Mr. Bailey also tells listeners that he's focusing on passing Amendment Three in November:

Proposition L calls for adding three-eighths-of a cent to the county’s current one-eighth cent law enforcement sales tax to fund a new county jail. Sheriff Dwayne Carey says we’re in a crisis now with jail overcrowding. Proposition L was a key topic on Sunday Morning With Ken and Brian” on 939 the Eagle. Proposition L opponents former State Rep. Cheri Toalson Reisch (R-Hallsville) and No New New Jail -Boone County member Susan Maze joined Ken and Brian in-studio to outline why they oppose L. Sheriff Carey called in and provided listeners with his personal cell number to answer their questions, saying opponents are providing erroneous information:

Columbia water rates, electric rates, the Utilities Department and Columbia crime were some of the numerous topics addressed this weekend on 939 the Eagle's "CEO Roundtable." Host Fred Parry's guest in-studio was Comobuz publisher Mike Murphy, who also hosts the "Eagle Eye Drive at 5" on 939 the Eagle. Mr. Mr. Murphy reports Columbia water rates have increased ten percent, effective October 1. That's on top of 12 percent last year. Electric rates jumped six percent. Mike Murphy also outlined what he would like to do in an ideal situation by bringing in an outside consultant with Comobuz regarding Columbia Utilities:

West-central Missouri Congressman Mark Alford (R-Raymore) traveled to Ukraine recently. He serves on the U.S. House Appropriations Committee's national security, state, and related programs subcommittee. Congressman Alford, who represents Centralia, Sturgeon, Hallsville and parts of Columbia on Capitol Hill, blasts Russian President Putin. Congressman Alford joined hosts Randy Tobler and Jennifer Bukowsky on "Wake Up Missouri" and also criticized the Missouri Supreme Court regarding their 7-0 decision on Missouri's congressional maps:

Missouri Deputy attorney general Shaun Mackelprang continues to recover after being rescued on a mountain in Wyoming. Mr. Mackelprang spoke on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri" and shared his story. He also praises first responders:

Boone County's presiding commissioner says Proposition L is needed to fund a new county jail. Presiding Commissioner Kip Kendrick joined host Mike Murphy for the hour Saturday morning on 939 the Eagle's “CEO Roundtable.” Mike and Commissioner Kendrick tackled several topics, including the jail, Proposition L, the county budget, the purchase of an animal hospital and Boone Health and Boone Hospital. Commissioner Kendrick and Boone County Sheriff Dwayne Carey support Proposition L, which will be on your November ballot in Columbia/Boone County. Proposition L calls for adding three-eighths-of a cent to the county’s current one-eighth cent law enforcement sales tax to fund a new county jail. Commissioner Kendrick tells listeners that the county spent $2.56 million in 2025 housing inmates in other counties. For the first half of 2026, that cost is $2.12 million, according to Kendrick. Commissioner Kendrick was elected presiding commissioner in 2022 and is unopposed for re-election in November:

Mizzou officials say the individual seen on video at this week’s Turning Point USA event in Columbia is NOT a Mizzou student and has been trespassed from campus. The person addressed Turning Point USA leaders on-campus. The video shows a representative of Turning Point USA asking the person “So you are for people being killed for freedom of speech.” The person responded “Yeah, absolutely.” Mizzou TPUSA president Nate Vass was live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri" and tells listeners that the individual who said that is "evil." Mr. Vass says there were about 250 people in the crowd for the event:

It's still unclear which congressional map will appear on Missouri's November ballot. Boone County clerk Brianna Lennon appeared live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri." She advises you to hold off on casting an absentee ballot until the US Supreme Court decides the case. She notes you can still view your sample ballot on her office's website:

U.S. Rep. Bob Onder (R) is praising the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals'' ruling on congressional maps, saying it is the correct one. Congressman Onder discussed maps as well as fraud during a live interview on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri":

Fast-growing Columbia-based Storagemart is now the world's largest privately owned storage company. It began with its first location on Columbia's Rangeline, near Big Bear. It now has 380 locations and about 800 employees. Storagemart president Mike Burnam appeared in-studio for the hour Saturday morning on 939 the Eagle's "CEO Roundtable." Mike earned his degree in agricultural economics from Mizzou. He and Mr. Parry outlined the company's growth:
