What Does It Mean to Be Healed After Infidelity?
2026/10/18
We talk endlessly about healing from betrayal. The triggers. The nervous system. Rebuilding trust. Setting boundaries. Figuring out whether to stay or leave. But what are you healing toward? Because the goal isn't to spend the rest of your life getting better at recovering from betrayal. The goal is to create a life that is no longer organized around the fact that you were betrayed. In this episode, I'm talking about what being healed really looks like—not some perfect state where you're never triggered, never have a bad day, and nothing ever hurts again. Healing looks a lot more human than that. It looks like getting knocked off center and knowing how to come back to yourself. It looks like having joy, play, connection, pleasure, and anticipation in your life again. It looks like knowing what you need and being willing to ask for it. It looks like letting reality be what it is without minimizing it to preserve your relationship or catastrophizing it to protect yourself. Most importantly, it means you become front and center in your own life again. Betrayal may always be something that happened to you. But it doesn't have to remain the organizing principle of your life. Top 3 Takeaways Being healed doesn't mean you'll never be triggered again. You're human. An anniversary may hit strangely. Your partner may do something that brings up an old fear. You may have a bad day or a messy argument. The difference is that the trigger becomes a moment—not something that takes over your entire reality. Healing isn't never getting knocked off center. It's knowing how to come back to yourself when you do. Recovery isn't just about experiencing less pain. It's about experiencing more life. At some point, healing has to become about more than not crying, not checking, not obsessing, and not being triggered. Are you laughing? Playing? Connecting? Looking forward to things? Asking for what you want? Spending time with people you love? Doing things simply because they make you feel alive? There's a to-do list—and there's a to-live list. Being healed means you aren't so busy managing life, your relationship, or your recovery that you forget to actually live. Healing means trusting yourself more than you need certainty. Early after betrayal, you want guarantees. Will he cheat again? Is he really changing? Should I stay? Will I regret leaving? Am I making a mistake? Eventually, healing changes the question. Instead of needing certainty about what someone else will do, you develop certainty about you. You know you can handle the truth. You can trust what you see. You can set boundaries without needing to punish someone. You can offer compassion without abandoning yourself. And whatever happens next, you know how to take care of yourself. That's freedom. If you're wondering what you're healing toward, start there: What do you want your life to feel like when betrayal is no longer front and center?   Favorite Quote “The whole goal of being recovered is to live a life that is not organized around the fact that you were betrayed.”   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. What Do You Do After Something Terrible Happens to You? With Barbara Huson
2026/10/11
What do you do after something terrible happens to you? Maybe it was infidelity or another devastating betrayal. Maybe it was financial betrayal, a health crisis, or a relationship that fell apart. Whatever happened, you're left trying to figure out how to heal, trust yourself again, and move forward without letting what happened define the rest of your life. My guest Barbara Huson knows something about that question. Her first husband was a compulsive gambler who lost almost all of her inheritance and left her facing nearly $2 million in tax debt. Years later, a series of serious health problems left her feeling as though her body—and even God—had betrayed her too. In this conversation, Barbara and I talk about what it means to move from victim to creator—not by denying what happened, bypassing the pain, or pretending everything is fine, but by recognizing the power you still have over what happens next. Because eventually the question shifts from Why did this happen to me? to something much more powerful: What do I want now? Barbara first joined me on FLAUNT! for Understanding Money—Your Post-Infidelity Plan with Barbara Huson, formerly Barbara Stanny. You can listen to that conversation here: https://dreamvisions7radio.com/barbara-huson-formerly-stanny/ Learn more about Barbara's Sacred Success: The Next Evolution retreat—where I'll also be leading a group hypnotherapy experience—here: https://www.bhuson.com/sacredsuccess   Top 3 Takeaways Being victimized doesn't mean you have to remain a victim. Taking your power back isn't about excusing what someone else did or pretending you weren't hurt. It's recognizing that what happened to you and what you create from it are two different things. Ask yourself two questions: What do I want—and what do I need to let go of? You don't bypass grief in order to move forward. You feel it. You grieve the person, the dream, the future you thought you were going to have—and begin getting honest about what you want to create now. You don't have to do it alone. Even when you understand the concepts, it can be almost impossible to see your own patterns from inside them. Support, community, and what Barbara calls having a “spotter” can help you see what you can't see for yourself. Favorite Quote “No one will do it for you, but you don't have to do it yourself.” — Barbara Huson   About Barbara Huson About Barbara Huson Barbara Huson is a bestselling author, financial therapist, wealth coach, and a leading authority on women, wealth, and power. Her work combines practical financial wisdom with psychology, neuroscience, and spirituality to help women transform not only their relationship with money, but their relationship with themselves. How Can a Good Person Have an Affair? With Kristina Joy
2026/10/04
How can someone who sees herself as a good person—a loving wife, devoted mother, woman of faith—have an affair? And how can she keep going back when she knows what she's doing is wrong? Those questions can be almost impossible to understand from the betrayed side of infidelity. We look at the choices our partner made and think, I would never do that. If you knew it was wrong, why didn't you just stop? My guest Kristina Joy knows exactly what that feels like from the other side. Kristina spent years living a life that didn't feel like her. Her affair didn't begin with a conscious decision to blow up her marriage. It developed through a series of choices that were easy to rationalize at the time—until secrecy, shame, unmet needs, self-deception, and a relationship that made her feel alive had become something she couldn't seem to simply walk away from. In this incredibly honest conversation, Kristina takes us inside that experience. We talk about what it means to feel stuck in an affair, why willpower isn't always enough to get out, how otherwise good people rationalize choices that conflict with their values, and the shame that can keep the unfaithful partner isolated long after they know they need help. Kristina also talks candidly about something betrayed partners rarely get to hear about: grieving the affair partner after the affair ends. Understanding any of this does not mean excusing infidelity. But if you're trying to understand how someone you believed was a good person could make choices that caused so much damage, this conversation offers a perspective we don't hear nearly enough. Top 3 Takeaways Affairs don't always begin with one enormous decision. Kristina describes a progression of seemingly small choices—giving someone a ride, spending time with different people, staying out late, withholding information, crossing another line and promising herself it wouldn't happen again. One of the most important distinctions she makes is between asking, Was this technically wrong? and asking, Was this wise? The secrecy became an important dividing line. When you wouldn't willingly tell your partner what you're doing, something has changed. Shame can keep someone stuck in the very behavior they're ashamed of. Kristina knew women she could theoretically talk to, but she was terrified of what would happen if she told the truth. Would they judge her? Would they tell her to end the affair immediately? Would they force her to confront decisions she wasn't ready to make? So she stayed alone. Her story changed when she finally found people who could hear the truth without condoning her behavior and without shaming her for it. That distinction matters: compassion is not the same thing as approval. Betraying someone else can also destroy your trust in yourself. One of the most powerful moments in our conversation comes when Kristina realizes that she wasn't only the betrayer in her story. She had betrayed herself too. After the affair, she had to learn whether she could trust herself around other men, trust herself to honor her own commitments, and trust herself to live according to the values she believed in. And that's something both sides of betrayal may eventually have to rebuild: the ability to trust themselves again.   Favorite Quote “I was both the betrayer and the betrayed at the same time.” — Kristina Joy   About Kristian Joy Kristina Joy is a coach who works specifically with women who have been unfaithful and are ready to step out of shame, secrecy, and self-condemnation and back into honesty, integrity, faith, and self-trust. Her work grew out of her own seven-year journey through infidelity and the years of healing that followed. Drawing from her lived experience as well as her work with women, Kristina takes a holistic approach to healing that includes faith, mindset, emotional awareness, the nervous system, and the body. At the heart of her work are two words she returns to again and again: curiosity and compassion. She creates a space where women can tell the truth about what they've done, understand what was happening within them, take responsibility for what belongs to them, and begin rebuilding a relationship with themselves without being defined by the worst choices they've made. Can Your Marriage Really Be Better After Infidelity? With Hasani and Danielle Pettiford of Couple’s Academy
2026/09/27
Not just saved. Not just kept intact. But genuinely better? After betrayal, so much attention goes to the two individuals. You need to heal. He needs to understand why he cheated and change the patterns that allowed it to happen. But there is a third entity that also needs attention: the relationship itself. In this episode, I'm joined by Hasani and Danielle Pettiford, founders of Couples Academy, for a conversation about what it really takes to rebuild a marriage after infidelity. And we're not talking about simply promising never to cheat again. We talk about the personal, relational, and social factors that contribute to infidelity, including something that often gets overlooked: the environments, friendships, workplaces, social media, cultural messages, and unspoken boundaries that influence a marriage. We also get into something I wish more couples talked about before betrayal ever happened: What are the values and rules of your relationship? What does fidelity actually mean to each of you? What is appropriate with friends or coworkers? Where are the boundaries? What do you believe about marriage, intimacy, communication, and commitment? Because you can have your values. He can have his. But if you're going to build a life together, the relationship needs values too. Can Your Marriage Really Become Something Better? One of my favorite parts of this conversation comes at the end. My husband now says that this is the marriage he always dreamed of having. I would never pretend I'm grateful for the infidelity that brought us to this point. I wish we had known how to create this marriage without going through what we went through. But I also know firsthand that the marriage you had before betrayal does not have to be the marriage you have afterward. If you're trying to figure out whether your partner is truly changing, whether your marriage can actually be rebuilt, or whether reconciliation is possible for you, book a private Introductory Session with me at IntroductorySession.com. I'm not going to tell you whether to stay or leave. We'll look at what's actually happening, what you need, and what would have to be true for reconciliation to be possible.   Top 3 Takeaways Understanding why infidelity happened requires looking at more than one thing. Hasani and Danielle break the “why” into personal, relational, and social factors. Your partner may bring unresolved wounds or patterns into the marriage. The relationship itself may have problems. And outside influences, from friends and coworkers to social media and cultural norms, can matter too. Understanding those factors doesn't excuse betrayal, but it does matter if you're trying to determine whether the pattern can actually change. A healthy marriage needs shared values, not just two people with individual expectations. Most couples never explicitly define fidelity, boundaries, intimacy, communication, or even what being married means to them. Instead, we assume our partner sees those things the way we do. Hasani and Danielle explain why creating a shared relational code matters and why negotiation can be far more powerful than one partner continually giving in to the other. Real change after infidelity has to be demonstrated, not merely promised. After betrayal, “I'll never do it again” isn't enough. Trust was lost through behavior, and it has to be rebuilt through behavior. At the same time, the betrayed partner eventually has to be able to recognize genuine change rather than holding a partner permanently hostage to who they were at their worst. That's a difficult balance, and it's one reason having the right outside support can matter so much.   Favorite Quote “Trust is lost in buckets and gained in drops.”   About Hasani & Danielle Pettiford Hasani and Danielle Pettiford are the co-founders of Couples Academy, where they specialize in affair recovery, marriage restoration, and divorce prevention. When You’re Doing the Healing Work—but Still Don’t Feel Safe After Betrayal With Anne Blythe, M.Ed., Founder of Betrayal Trauma Recovery
2026/09/21
After betrayal, women are often told to heal. Regulate your nervous system. Stop obsessing. Work on your triggers. Communicate better. Go to therapy. Learn to trust again. So you do… But what happens when you've read the books, done the therapy, practiced the tools, and worked incredibly hard—and your body still doesn't feel safe? Maybe the problem isn't that you're failing at healing. Maybe your nervous system is responding to something that is still happening. In this episode, Lora Cheadle talks with Anne Blythe, M.Ed., founder of Betrayal Trauma Recovery, host of The Betrayal Trauma Recovery Podcast, and creator of the Clarity After Betrayal Workshop, about one of the most confusing parts of betrayal recovery: learning to distinguish between the trauma of what happened in the past and harm that may still be occurring in the present. Anne challenges conventional betrayal-recovery models by asking women to consider whether what they've been treating solely as a relationship problem may also involve patterns of control, coercion, exploitation, or emotional and psychological abuse. Drawing from Anne's lived experience and her extensive interviews with betrayed women, Lora and Anne explore gaslighting, intimate deception, sexual coercion, and why certain approaches to couples therapy can sometimes make an already confusing situation even harder to see clearly. They also tackle the question so many women desperately want answered: How do I know if he's really changing—or simply getting better at saying and doing the right things? Words can sound wonderful. Promises can bring tremendous relief. A partner may appear calmer, more attentive, more remorseful, or more committed to recovery. But genuine change isn't something you should have to manufacture for him—or manage with a checklist. The goal is to become grounded enough in yourself that you can step back, observe what is actually happening, protect your emotional and psychological safety, and make decisions based on reality rather than fear, hope, pressure, or someone else's instructions. And importantly, this conversation is not about telling women to stay or leave. Recognizing harmful behavior does not automatically dictate divorce. Likewise, choosing to stay does not mean tolerating behavior that is unsafe or unacceptable. The goal is clarity, safety, strategy, and trusting yourself enough to determine what is right for your own life. Top of Form Bottom of Form   Top 3 Takeaways If you're doing the healing work but still don't feel safe, don't automatically assume you're doing something wrong. After betrayal, women can become so focused on regulating themselves and becoming "less reactive" that they interpret every continued nervous-system response as evidence they haven't healed enough. But if deception, manipulation, coercion, or other harmful behavior is ongoing, your body may be responding to what is happening in the present—not simply reacting to the past. Don't evaluate change by words alone. Create enough emotional space to observe what is actually happening. Anne recommends giving yourself small breaks from the pain so your entire day isn't consumed by betrayal. From a more regulated place, you can begin observing your partner's behavior rather than relying solely on reassurance or promises. Genuine change becomes something you witness over time—not something you have to coach, manage, or convince yourself is happening. You don't have to decide "stay or leave" before you learn how to protect yourself. Emotional and psychological safety strategies can matter whether you remain married, separate, reconcile, or eventually divorce. The goal isn't for someone else to tell you what you "have to" do. It's to understand what you're dealing with, gather the legal, financial, emotional, and practical information you need, and develop a strategy that allows you to make decisions from clarity instead of coercion or fear.   Favorite Quotes “You can't heal inside ongoing trauma.” — Lora Cheadle “Trusting that women know what the right thing for them is is part of what we do at BTR.” — Anne Blythe “They can heal or not, and I'm still in charge of me.” — Lora Cheadle   About Anne Blythe, M.Ed. Anne Blythe, M.Ed., is the founder and executive director of Betrayal Trauma Recovery, producer and host of The Betrayal Trauma Recovery Podcast, author of Trauma Mama Husband Drama, and creator of the Clarity After Betrayal Workshop. Anne brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. After experiencing betrayal trauma during her marriage and for years following her divorce, she developed a trauma-informed, victim-centered approach designed to help women recognize harmful patterns, understand what is actually happening in their relationships, and respond with greater clarity, safety, and strategy. Her work is informed by extensive qualitative research, including more than 220 in-depth interviews with women who have experienced marital betrayal. Divorce After Infidelity - how to Protect Yourself Without Starting a War
2026/09/14
If betrayal has suddenly made divorce a possibility, you may feel trapped between two terrible options: stay in a marriage that no longer feels safe or enter a legal battle that causes even more damage. But divorce does not automatically have to mean war. In this conversation, Lora Cheadle speaks with divorce consultant, mediator, co-parenting specialist, and Good Divorce Method founder Karen McNenny about approaching divorce with greater intention, clarity, and care. Together, they explore how to protect yourself without allowing fear or anger to control the process, set boundaries with a hostile spouse, support children across two homes, navigate the painful reality of an affair partner entering family life, and recover emotionally after the legal process ends.   Top 3 Takeaways A good divorce is not painless or conflict-free. A good divorce is handled intentionally enough that the process itself does not create more damage than the marriage already did. The goal is not to avoid every difficult emotion, but to build a more functional future instead of automatically turning former partners into enemies. Protecting yourself does not require becoming hostile. You can establish firm boundaries without becoming a doormat or escalating every conflict. When conversations become insulting or emotionally charged, pause, clearly state what you are willing to participate in, and return to the discussion when it can be respectful and productive. The legal process can end a marriage, but it cannot recover you. Divorce may change your home, finances, parenting, identity, friendships, and imagined future. Legal guidance is essential, but emotional healing, nervous system regulation, self-trust, and creating the life that comes next require a different kind of support.   Favorite Quotes “Your marriage is ending, not your relationship.” —Karen McNenny “A good divorce does not mean denying your anger or rushing your grief. It means choosing where your pain belongs.” —Lora Cheadle   About Karen Karen McNenny is the author of The Good Divorce: How to End Your Marriage Without Ending Your Family. As a mediator, divorce consultant, and co-parent specialist, she helps families navigate separation without destroying the relationships that matter most. In a culture that often treats divorce like a battlefield, Karen offers a radically different model — one that exposes the systemic failures of the traditional divorce industry and replaces them with a child-centered, dignity-driven approach. Her work reframes divorce not as a personal failure, but as a family restructuring that can be handled with intention, stability, and long-term family stability. What makes Karen’s perspective especially powerful is that she has lived it. She navigated her own divorce and successfully raised her children across two homes — from kindergarten through college — proving that families can restructure without rupturing. She is known for blending warmth, clarity, and practical strategy to help families navigate change with intention. A sought-after speaker, trusted advisor, and TEDx presenter, Karen also brings more than two decades of leadership coaching and consulting experience across the nonprofit,  corporate, and public sectors.   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. How Much Truth Do You Really Need? After Infidelit
2026/09/06
“The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.” After betrayal, you might feel desperate to know everything. Who was she? How long did it last? What happened? Did he love her? Is he finally telling you everything? And at the exact same time, you might desperately wish you could unknow all of it. You want yesterday back. You want your memories back. You want a business trip to just be a business trip. You want your marriage, your husband, and your reality back. That push-pull is one of the hardest parts of betrayal: Tell me everything. Please don't tell me that. But how much truth do you really need? In this episode, we're talking about the difference between truth and certainty, why some information is essential for your health, safety, finances, and decision-making, and why knowing one more detail doesn't necessarily make you feel safer. I'm also sharing a deeply personal moment from about 18 months after discovery, when I realized there was one question I had never asked my husband. When I finally asked it, his answer was painful. But instead of destroying me, the truth gave me something real to stand on. Because eventually, the most important question may no longer be, “What else don't I know about him?” It may be: What is true for me now?   Top 3 Takeaways Truth and certainty are not the same thing. After betrayal, it's natural to search for information because your reality has been shattered. But at some point, the search for truth can become a search for certainty, and no amount of information can guarantee that you'll never be blindsided again. You can want the truth and wish you could unknow it at the same time. Part of what you're grieving may be the loss of not knowing. Before discovery, your life made sense. Healing isn't about pretending you never learned the truth. It's reaching a place where knowing it no longer destroys you. Eventually, his truth has to lead you back to your own. What do you need to know? What would need to happen for reconciliation to be possible? What are you willing and unwilling to live with? What do you want? You may never know every detail, but you can reach a place where you know enough and, most importantly, where you know and trust yourself   Favorite Quotes “Maybe the truth that ultimately sets you free isn't finally knowing everything he did. Maybe it's finally knowing what you're going to do with what you know.” If FLAUNT! has helped you through betrayal, make sure you're subscribed, and please leave a quick comment or review. What Real Recovery From Porn Addiction Looks Like With Sathiya Sam, Founder of DeepClean™
2026/08/30
When He Says He’ll Change: What Real Recovery From Porn Addiction Actually Looks Like With Sathiya Sam, Founder of DeepClean™ After discovering pornography, infidelity, or other secret sexual behavior, one of the hardest questions isn't simply Why did he do it? It's Can he actually change? He may swear he'll never do it again. Delete apps. Install filters. Start therapy. Hand over his phone. Go weeks or months without pornography. And you desperately want to believe that this time is different. But how can you tell the difference between someone who has stopped a behavior—for now—and someone who is actually changing? In this episode, Lora Cheadle sits down with Sathiya Sam, founder of DeepClean™, author of The Last Relapse, and host of The Man Within podcast, for a candid conversation about pornography addiction, betrayal, relapse, and what lasting recovery really requires. Drawing from his own 15-year struggle with pornography and his work helping men recover, Sathiya explains why pornography addiction is rarely solved by willpower, promises, shame, filters, or simply trying harder. Lasting change requires getting underneath the behavior to the emotional wounds, unmet needs, nervous-system patterns, beliefs, and identity that helped create the cycle in the first place. His current DeepClean approach likewise emphasizes addressing underlying emotional wounds, core beliefs, unmet needs, regulation, identity, and relationships rather than measuring success only by abstinence. Lora and Sathiya also address the question so many betrayed partners struggle with: What is my role in his recovery? Because supporting someone is not the same as recovering for them. You cannot love him enough, monitor him enough, become a "superwife," have more sex, make his life easier, or find the perfect words that will make him change. His recovery belongs to him. Your healing belongs to you. And perhaps most importantly, recovery doesn't have to mean returning to the relationship you had before. When someone genuinely addresses the roots of addiction, the goal isn't simply a man who no longer watches pornography. It's a man who knows himself better, regulates himself differently, communicates more honestly, takes responsibility for his needs and behavior, and begins showing up differently in his marriage and his life.   Top 3 Takeaways Stopping the behavior is not the same as healing what created it. A promise to stop, an internet filter, accountability software, or a period of abstinence may change behavior without addressing its roots. Sathiya describes lasting recovery as developing self-awareness, healing underlying emotional wounds and unmet needs, and shifting identity—not merely becoming better at resisting pornography. Look for trends of transformation, not just streaks of abstinence. Instead of asking only, How many days has he been "clean"?, look at what is changing in the man. Can he name his emotions and needs? Regulate himself during difficult conversations? Talk about what he's uncovering without becoming immediately defensive? Take responsibility for his recovery? Communicate honestly about both struggles and progress? As Sathiya explains, a relapse does not automatically erase every bit of growth—and a long streak does not necessarily prove the underlying problem has healed. You can support his recovery, but you cannot do it for him. One of the most painful truths for a betrayed partner is that you cannot make someone want recovery more than they want it themselves. Your job is not to become his accountability partner or work harder for his healing than he does. Your work is getting your own support, processing your pain safely, establishing and upholding your boundaries, and paying attention to what his behavior—not merely his promises—is showing you. Favorite Quotes “He kind of has to want to change more than you want him to change for anything to actually change.” — Sathiya Sam “I would rather be 100% my true self and rejected than 80% my true self and accepted.” — Sathiya Sam “This is not about him not loving her. This is not about him not valuing the marriage or the relationship or their kids.” — Lora Cheadle   About Sathiya Sam Sathiya Sam is the founder of DeepClean™, an author, international speaker, former university researcher and pastor, and host of The Man Within podcast. After his own long struggle with pornography, Sathiya developed a root-focused approach to helping men move beyond addictive behaviors by addressing emotional wounds, unmet needs, regulation, faith, relationships, and identity. His book, The Last Relapse, expands on the principles discussed in this episode, including why lasting freedom requires more than willpower or surface-level behavior modification. How Do You Know If Your Unfaithful Partner Is Really Changing?
2026/08/23
--With Sam’s Healing Podcast After infidelity, promises can sound reassuring—but how do you know whether your partner is actually changing? In this episode, Lora Cheadle talks with Sam from Sam’s Healing Podcast about what real recovery looks like on the unfaithful side of betrayal. They explore why actions matter more than apologies, why the unfaithful partner needs to take initiative instead of waiting to be managed, and why becoming teachable, confrontable, and emotionally mature is essential for rebuilding trust. They also discuss communication tools like AVR—acknowledge, validate, reassure—along with self-regulation, co-regulation, childhood patterns, boundaries, and the difference between performing recovery and genuinely becoming someone new.   Top 3 Takeaways Stop listening only to what they say. Watch what they do. Promises like “It will never happen again” have very little value if they are not backed by consistent behavior. Real change shows up between sessions: seeking help, reading, doing exercises, attending meetings when appropriate, learning new skills, telling the truth, following through, and taking initiative without being parented by the betrayed partner. The unfaithful partner goes first. The person who created the rupture has a responsibility to lead the repair. That means booking appointments, finding resources, doing the work, becoming teachable and open to correction, and learning how to respond to the betrayed partner’s pain rather than becoming defensive or demanding that they “get over it.” Healing requires more than understanding why the affair happened. Childhood wounds and family-of-origin patterns matter, but insight alone does not automatically create empathy, emotional maturity, communication skills, or safety. Both partners eventually need to learn self-regulation and co-regulation, while the unfaithful partner demonstrates through consistent action that they are becoming someone capable of rebuilding trust.   Favorite Quotes “Forget about what they’re saying. Look at what they’re doing.” —Sam “The only currency is action.” —Sam “There is a time where we as unfaithful stop saying what we will do. We just do it.” —Sam “You can’t regulate yourself out of a toxic relationship.” —Lora Cheadle   About Sam Sam’s Healing Podcast is brought to you by one of Infidelity Recovery’s most prominent and renowned influencers and YouTubers. How to Make Decisions After Infidelity When Every Choice Feels Wrong
2026/08/16
After betrayal, every decision can feel catastrophic. Stay or leave? Give more grace or set a harder boundary? Invest in support or save the money in case you need it later? When your brain is hyperalert, every possibility can begin to look like proof that one wrong choice will ruin your future. In this episode, Lora Cheadle explores why hypervigilance can disguise itself as careful decision-making—and why self-trust does not mean making perfect choices. Through the story of rebuilding her home after a devastating sewer explosion, along with her own experiences of choosing beauty, pleasure, and higher standards, Lora shows how recovery shifts when you stop trying to recreate the old or justify every choice and begin creating a life that genuinely reflects who you are now. Top 3 Takeaways 1. Hypervigilance can make every possibility look like catastrophe. After betrayal, your brain is trying to protect you from ever being blindsided again. That can turn thoughtful decision-making into endless analysis, freezing, catastrophizing, and searching for guarantees that do not exist. 2. Self-trust is not making the perfect decision. Self-trust means knowing that you can choose, experience what happens, gather more information, ask for help, reassess, change direction, and choose again. A decision that does not turn out perfectly is not proof that there is something wrong with you. 3. Recovery is not about rebuilding the old life. Whether you stay, leave, remodel your marriage, or create something entirely new, the deeper question is what you want your life to feel like now. Higher standards are not perfectionism. They are a willingness to value truth, emotional safety, beauty, pleasure, self-respect, and a life that feels fully yours. Favorite Quotes “Familiar does not mean it’s automatically right. Cheap does not mean it’s automatically the wisest decision. Practical does not automatically mean it’s aligned with who you are and where you’re going.” “Beauty and loving yourself and loving your surroundings…is evidence that you’ve come back to life.” “Your decisions do not have to be perfect. You just need to trust yourself enough to manage your life.” About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. The 4 Phases of Betrayal Recovery, Part 2: Are You Ready to Move On—or Waiting for a Perfect Solution?
2026/08/09
Sometimes you truly need more information, more time, or more nervous system regulation before you can make a decision. But sometimes “I don’t know what to do” means something deeper: you know more than you are ready to admit, you do not like your options, or you are waiting for a perfect solution that does not exist. In Part Two of this guided coaching series, Lora Cheadle walks you through the Stages of Change and helps you identify how ready you really are to move forward. You will explore the difference between needing more information and postponing action, why uncertainty feels unsafe, how fear of making the wrong choice keeps you frozen, and what it means to become the protagonist in your own life.   Top 3 Takeaways Not knowing and not liking your options are not the same thing. Sometimes you genuinely need more information, legal advice, financial clarity, time, or evidence of sustained change. Other times, you already know what is true but are not ready to face what that truth may require. Readiness can be supported, even when it cannot be forced. The Stages of Change—precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance—help you identify where you are without shame. Instead of asking what is wrong with you, ask what would help you become more ready. The perfect solution does not exist. Every meaningful choice contains uncertainty, consequences, gains, and losses. The goal is not to find the option with no downside. It is to make the most honest, self-honoring choice available and trust yourself to respond as new information emerges.   Favorite Quotes “Sometimes you’re not stuck because you lack options. You’re stuck because none of the available options are perfect.” “Maturity is not finding the option with no downside. It’s deciding which truth, which consequence, and which responsibility you are willing to live with.”   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. The 4 Phases of Betrayal Recovery: Are You Healing—or Just Learning? (Part 1)
2026/08/02
After betrayal, it is easy to become trapped in an endless cycle of learning. You listen to more podcasts, read more books, study nervous system regulation, attachment, boundaries, narcissism, reconciliation, and divorce—hoping the next piece of information will finally make you feel clear. But there comes a point when gathering more information can become its own form of hypervigilance. In Part One of this two-part series, Lora Cheadle introduces the four phases of her Life Choreography® Method: Regulate, Reorient, Reconnect, and Rechoreograph. She guides you through each phase as though you were in a private session together, helping you identify where you are, where you may have skipped ahead, and what kind of support you actually need now. This episode also explores the difference between conscious insight and subconscious change, why the right tool used at the wrong time can feel like another failure, and how hypnosis can help update the old survival rules that continue operating beneath the surface.   Top 3 Takeaways Learning more is not always the same as healing. Learning can be an important first step, but endless information gathering can keep you focused on the problem and safely outside your own transformation. At some point, the next step is no longer another book, podcast, or tool. It is allowing what you already know to change how you live. Betrayal recovery has an order. The four phases of the Life Choreography® Method are Regulate, Reorient, Reconnect, and Rechoreograph. You cannot force clarity while your nervous system is still in survival, reconnect with yourself before orienting to the truth, or rebuild a life that reflects who you are before knowing who you are now. Conscious understanding may not change a subconscious survival pattern. You can consciously know that you are safe, worthy, and capable of making decisions while your body continues reacting from fear, abandonment, or helplessness. Hypnosis helps update the subconscious beliefs, conditioned associations, and old survival rules that keep recreating the same emotional response.   Favorite Quotes “Your conscious mind can know the truth, but your subconscious is still obeying old survival rules and patterns.” —Lora Cheadle   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. From Powerless to Sovereign: Reclaiming Your Voice, Intuition, and Financial Power
2026/07/26
-With Soochen Low   Betrayal can leave you feeling as though you have lost control over everything—your relationship, your future, your finances, and even your ability to trust yourself. You may question your judgment, second-guess every decision, and become so afraid of making another mistake that you stop moving forward altogether. But sovereignty is not about always knowing the right answer. It is about reclaiming your authority over your own life. In this episode, Lora Cheadle is joined by creative power business alchemist and sovereign leadership catalyst Soochen Low for a conversation about rebuilding self-trust, listening to your heart, reclaiming your financial power, and creating a life that belongs to you. Soochen shares her experience of leaving a controlling and emotionally abusive marriage after ten years of feeling that she was never doing, earning, or contributing enough. Although she had built successful businesses and generated significant income, she had allowed someone else’s story about her worth to become more powerful than her own. Together, Lora and Soochen explore what it means to trust your heart after it has been broken—and why listening to your intuition does not guarantee that life will always be easy or painless. Sometimes your inner wisdom warns you away from something. Other times, it leads you directly into an experience that becomes part of your growth, awakening, and evolution. They also discuss the financial fear that often accompanies betrayal and why earning, receiving, and building wealth are not selfish. Money can become an expression of agency, creativity, generosity, and freedom. Reclaiming your financial power is not merely about making more money. It is about recognizing that you are capable of supporting yourself, directing your life, and making choices based on what is right for you. This conversation is an invitation to stop waiting until you feel completely certain, stop demanding perfection from yourself, and begin moving forward one choice at a time. Because becoming sovereign does not mean you will never make another mistake. It means the choices—and the life—are finally yours.   Top 3 Takeaways Your heart may not have betrayed you. After betrayal, it is common to believe that your intuition failed because you trusted someone who later hurt you. But you may have heard your inner wisdom and not yet understood it, or your path may have contained lessons and growth that you could not have anticipated. Rebuilding self-trust begins with curiosity and compassion rather than blaming yourself for what you did not know. Financial sovereignty is part of recovering yourself. Betrayal can create intense fears about money, security, and survival. Reclaiming your financial power means recognizing your ability to create, earn, receive, and make decisions for yourself. Money does not have to be associated with greed, selfishness, or proving your worth. It can support freedom, generosity, service, and choice.   Sovereignty is not perfection—it is agency. You do not have to know exactly how everything will turn out before you move. You are allowed to choose, make mistakes, change your mind, and choose again. Your power is not found in getting every decision right. It is found in knowing that you can respond, adjust, and continue creating a life that reflects who you are now.   Favorite Quotes “I thought I was going to crash and burn. But I didn’t. I discovered I had wings—that I could actually fly.” —Soochen Low   About Soochen Soochen Low is a creative power business alchemist and sovereign leadership catalyst who supports creative, conscious, mission-driven women in building financially sustainable businesses without abandoning their integrity, creativity, or values. Her work helps women move beyond people-pleasing, proving, and self-sacrifice so they can reclaim their creative power and lead their businesses, income, lives, and destinies with greater sovereignty. She is also the author of the forthcoming book From Servant Girl to Sovereign Queen, which explores rewriting the stories that keep women small, transforming their businesses, and leading from the wisdom of the heart. Why Feeling Good About Yourself Matters After Betrayal
2026/07/12
Why Feeling Good About Yourself Matters After Betrayal With Jasmin El Kordi of Bluelene After betrayal, it can feel like every thought, every conversation, and every part of your life gets hijacked by infidelity. You are trying to understand what happened, protect yourself legally and financially, regulate your nervous system, and figure out what comes next. But what if part of healing is also allowing yourself moments of normalcy, confidence, curiosity, and even fun? In this episode, Lora Cheadle talks about the importance of titrating betrayal recovery so your entire life does not become consumed by pain, processing, and problem-solving. She shares why simple experiences such as listening to music, dancing, learning something new, taking care of your skin, or feeling good in your body can help interrupt obsessive loops and support nervous system regulation. Lora is joined by Jasmin El Kordi of Bluelene Advanced Skincare for a conversation about stress, aging, confidence, skincare, and the science behind topical methylene blue. Together, they explore how stress can affect the skin, why looking in the mirror after betrayal can feel so painful, and how caring for yourself on the outside can sometimes help you reconnect with yourself on the inside. This is not about vanity. It is about remembering that you are still alive, still worthy, still allowed to feel beautiful, and still allowed to enjoy your life while you heal.   Top 3 Takeaways Betrayal recovery has to be titrated. Healing matters, but not every moment of your life has to revolve around infidelity, deep processing, or hard conversations. Feeling good about yourself supports regulation. Confidence, beauty, laughter, music, movement, and small acts of self-care can help your nervous system exhale. Your body knows when something feels aligned. Whether you are making decisions about your relationship, your work, your healing, or your next chapter, your body often registers truth before your mind can explain it.   Favorite Quote “Not all betrayal recovery has to be specifically about betrayal recovery.”   About Lora Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt is a former attorney turned betrayal recovery coach, hypnotherapist, and author who helps women rebuild their identity and reclaim their power after infidelity and profound emotional betrayal. Using her signature Life Choreography® approach, she integrates legal insight, nervous system regulation, somatic practices, and deep spiritual support to help clients move from shattered to sovereign.   About Jasmin El Kordi Jasmin El Kordi is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the technology, telecommunications, and wellness industries. Prior to co-founding Bluelene, she held executive and leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies including Sprint, Cisco, and NCR, as well as serving as Vice President for the European consumer goods company Prisma Natural. After graduating Summa cum Laude from the University of Maryland, she shifted her focus to the intersection of longevity science and personal care. As CEO, Jasmin has led Mblue Labs from a university research project into an award-winning, globally recognized biotech platform. Bluelene  is a patented, biotech-driven skincare and hair growth brand built on the anti-aging powers of Methylene Blue. The Science: Originally researched as a treatment for Progeria (a rapid-aging childhood disease) at the University of Maryland, scientist Kan Cao discovered that Methylene Blue continuously cycles to support cellular defense and energy. It continuously stimulates skin cells to produce collagen and elastin while extending the healthy lifespan of the cells themselves. The Benefits: Unlike traditional anti-aging ingredients like retinol—which can encourage cell death—Methylene Blue actively repairs DNA damage, reduces oxidative stress, and significantly boosts skin hydration and firmness. Product Line: Bluelene offers a wide range of products tailored to all ages, from Gen-Zers preventing damage to older demographics focusing on deep anti-aging. The line features bestsellers like their Daily Moisturizer, Eye Cream, and an elasticity cream specifically formulated to maintain skin structure. 2026/07/05
When Betrayal Hits the Body: Sleep, Stress, Hormones & Healing  With Karyn Shanks, MD Betrayal doesn’t just affect your heart and mind — it affects your body too. In this compassionate conversation, Lora sits down with physician and functional medicine expert Dr. Karyn Shanks to explore the very real physical impact of betrayal trauma, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm. Together, they discuss how trauma affects sleep, hormones, inflammation, energy, digestion, nervous system regulation, and overall health — and why these responses are not signs that you’re weak or broken, but signs that your body is trying to protect you. This episode also explores self-compassion, the stories women carry around productivity and worthiness, and how healing begins when we stop fighting our bodies and start listening to them with curiosity and care. Top 3 Takeaways Betrayal trauma affects the entire body — including sleep, hormones, digestion, energy, and nervous system regulation. Your body is not betraying you. Many physical symptoms are intelligent survival responses. Healing does not require perfection. Small moments of rest, nourishment, support, and compassion matter deeply.
