308 - Tropical Staycation, Watermelon Margarita, Christian Sayings
2026/09/25
🎙️ No notes. No outline. Just conversation. This week on Beers & Bible, we’re changing things up and talking through some of those familiar Christian sayings we’ve all heard over the years. Are they actually biblical? Are they partly true? Have they been pulled out of context? Or are we sometimes repeating things that Scripture never really says? No prepared outline this time—we throw them out there, open the Bible, and see where the conversation takes us. 🍺 BEER REVIEWS Anthony: Tropical Staycation — Scofflaw Brewing⭐ 2.5 Luthers Michael: Watermelon Margarita — WeldWerks Brewing Co.⭐ 4 Luthers Grab a beer and join us for a relaxed, unscripted episode of Beers & Bible.
307 - Peace, Love, Hippieweizen, Honey Orange Tripel, Taming the Tongue
2026/09/18
aming the Tongue | James 3 James tells us that something as small as the tongue can steer a life like a rudder steers a ship—and can set a forest ablaze like a single spark. 🔥 This week we take James 3 into two places where controlling our words can be especially difficult: social media and political conversation. 📱 Social MediaThe ability to immediately post, share, comment, and react doesn’t mean wisdom requires us to do it. We discuss our responsibility for the words we put online, the enormous reach those words can have, and why Christians should sometimes be slower to speak than the culture around us. 🗳️ Political SpeechPolitical disagreement can quickly turn into contempt. James reminds us that the same tongue we use to praise God can be used to curse people who are made in His image. We talk about how Christians can hold strong convictions, call wrong things wrong, and still refuse to dehumanize the people with whom we disagree. James ultimately pushes the conversation deeper than simply, “Watch what you say.” Our words reveal what is happening in our hearts and what kind of wisdom is governing us. Before we speak, post, share, or argue, James gives us some important questions: 👉 Should I say it?👉 What will these words do?👉 What do these words reveal about my heart?👉 Do they display the wisdom from above—peaceable, gentle, merciful, and sincere? 🍺 Beer Reviews Anthony: Peace, Love, Hippieweizen — Goat Island Brewing⭐ 3 Luthers Michael: Honey Orange Tripel — New Belgium Brewing⭐ 3 Luthers 🎧 Grab a beer, open James 3, and join us for a conversation about taming the tongue in an increasingly loud world.
306 - Mango Chile Pickle Beer, Chamoy Apple Rings, Romans 16
2026/09/04
We’ve made it to the end of Romans! 📖 Paul closes this incredible letter not with abstract theology alone, but with people, warnings, grace, victory, and worship. He honors faithful servants like Phoebe, Priscilla, and Aquila, along with a long list of ordinary believers whose lives and labor mattered to the kingdom. Then Paul gives one final warning: know the truth well enough to recognize those who twist it. Christianity isn’t strengthened by avoiding doctrine—it’s strengthened by being firmly established in the gospel and wise enough to distinguish truth from error. And Romans finishes exactly where it should: with Christ’s victory and God’s glory. 🙌 🔥 “The God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” From Romans 1 to Romans 16, the message has been clear: salvation is by grace, through faith, because of Christ—and all the glory belongs to God. Anthony: Best Maid Mango Chile Pickle — Martin House Brewing⭐ 5 Luthers Michael: Chamoy Apple Rings — Martin House Brewing⭐ 5 Luthers Apparently the only appropriate way to finish Romans was with two Martin House beers and a perfect 10 Luthers. 😂🍺 🎙️ Beers & Bible Podcast — Episode 306📖 Romans 16:1–27 #BeersAndBible #Romans #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #CraftBeer 🍻 Beer Reviews
305 - Blueberry Crumble, Split Decisions, Romans 15:16-33
2026/08/28
Romans 15:16–33 | Ministry, Mission & the God of Peace Paul gives us a picture of faithful gospel ministry where the fruit belongs to God, the glory belongs to Christ, and the power belongs to the Holy Spirit. In this episode, we look at Paul’s description of the Gentile believers as an offering to God, why he refuses to boast in anything except what Christ accomplished through him, and the purpose of the signs and wonders that accompanied the apostles. We also follow Paul’s missionary ambitions from Jerusalem to Rome and eventually toward Spain. Paul had plans—but God determined the route. It’s a reminder that Christians can plan boldly while still trusting completely in God’s providence. Paul’s collection for the struggling believers in Jerusalem also shows us that gospel unity produces real generosity, and he closes the chapter by asking the Romans to “strive together” with him in prayer. Even the Apostle Paul knew ministry wasn’t something he could accomplish in his own strength. ✝️ “Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” — Romans 15:33 🍻 BEER REVIEWS Anthony: Split Decisions — Abita Brewing ⭐ 3.5 Luthers Michael: Blueberry Crumble — Destihl Brewery ⭐ 4.5 Luthers
304 - Diagonal Cut, Taco Tuesday, Romans 15:1-16
2026/08/21
🍻📖 Episode 304 — Romans 15:1–16 This week on Beers & Bible, we continue through Romans 15 and look at what Christian maturity really looks like when it moves beyond ourselves. Paul tells the strong to bear with the weaknesses of others instead of simply pleasing themselves. Christian freedom isn’t just about asking, “Am I allowed to do this?” Love asks a better question: “Will this build up my brother or sister?” And Paul points us straight to Jesus: “For Christ did not please himself.” ✝️ We also dig into why Scripture is so important for the Christian life. God’s Word was given for our instruction so that through endurance and encouragement we might have hope. Then Paul turns that hope outward, calling believers to welcome one another just as Christ welcomed us—different backgrounds, different preferences, but one people united in Christ. Finally, we look at Paul’s view of ministry. Faithful ministry isn’t about building a platform, entertaining a crowd, or sharing personal opinions. It’s about faithfully proclaiming God’s Word—and recognizing that the opportunity to serve Christ is itself a gift of grace. 🍺 BEER REVIEWS Anthony: Taco Tuesday — Monday Night Brewing⭐ 4 / 5 Luthers Michael: Diagonal Cut — Magnanimous Brewing⭐ 5 / 5 Luthers 🙏 Bear with the weak.❤️ Put others before yourself.📖 Find endurance and hope in Scripture.🤝 Welcome one another as Christ welcomed you.✝️ Keep Christ at the center. #BeersAndBible #Romans15 #BibleStudy #ChristianLiving #CraftBeer
303 - Patient Zero, Enchantress, Romans 14
2026/08/14
Christian Liberty, Conscience & Kingdom Living In this episode of the Beers & Bible Podcast, we continue through Romans 14 and wrestle with the tension between legalism, Christian liberty, conscience, and love for one another. Paul reminds us that Christian freedom isn’t about doing whatever we want. It’s about belonging to Christ and using our freedom in a way that honors Him and builds up His people. We talk about the difference between God’s moral law and human traditions, how Christians should respond to the “weaker brother,” why we shouldn’t bind consciences where God has given freedom, and why our liberty should always be governed by love. The kingdom of God isn’t about winning arguments over food, drink, or personal preferences. It’s about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 🕊️ And Paul gives us a better question than simply, “Am I allowed to do this?” 👉 “Will this honor Christ, preserve peace, and build up my brother or sister?” 🍺 BEER REVIEWS Anthony — Patient Zero by Martin House Brewing⭐ 5 Luthers Michael — Enchantress by Three Taverns Craft Beer⭐ 4.5 Luthers #BeersAndBible #Romans14 #ChristianLiberty #BibleStudy #ChristianLiving

2026/08/07
🍻📖 We missed a week, but Beers & Bible is back! After a short break, we’re picking right back up in our journey through Romans 13. This week we talk about the role and limits of government, the sanctity of human life, paying what we owe, loving our neighbors, and Paul’s call to wake up, walk in the light, and put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 13 reminds us that following Christ touches every part of life—how we relate to authority, how we handle our obligations, how we treat our neighbors, and how we live knowing that the return of Christ is drawing nearer. 🍺 Beer ReviewsAnthony: Copperhead — Gate City Brewing ⭐ 2 LuthersMichael: Birdie Putt — Six Bridges Brewing ⭐ 2 Luthers One week off, two beers in, and we’re back in Romans. 🍻📖 #BeersAndBible #Romans13 #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #RomansSeries
301 - Dragon Fandango, Woody's Orange Cream, Romans 13:1-4
2026/07/24
🍻 Episode 301 is here! This week, we continue through Romans 13 and wrestle with what it means for Christians to live under civil authority. We discuss why government exists, how all authority ultimately belongs to God, when believers are called to obey, and the rare circumstances when faithfulness to God may require civil disobedience. We also examine the government’s responsibility to restrain evil, reward good, and exercise authority as God’s servant. Of course, we brought two very different beers along for the discussion: 🐉 Anthony: Dragon Fandango by Toppling Goliath Brewing — 3.5 Luthers 🍊 Michael: Woody’s Orange Cream by Evil Twin Brewing — 4.5 Luthers One beer brought the fruit. The other brought the orange-creamsicle nostalgia—and took home the higher rating. #BeersAndBible #Romans13 #ChristianPodcast #CraftBeer #BibleStudy
300 - Athena Paradiso, Parish Bock, Romans 12:16-21
2026/07/17
This week on Beers & Bible, we’re in Romans 12:16–21, where Paul gets very practical about what Christian love looks like when life gets personal. How do we respond when we’re wronged? Do we defend ourselves, get even, or trust God with justice? Paul calls believers away from pride, retaliation, bitterness, and vengeance—and toward humility, peace, mercy, and active goodness. We talk about the difference between vindication and vengeance, why Christians are called to pursue peace “as much as depends on you,” and what it means to overcome evil with good. 🍺 Anthony: Athena Paradiso by Creature Comforts Brewing🍺 Michael: Parish Bock by Parish Brewing #BeersAndBible #Romans #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #CraftBeerPodcast
299 - Brown Chicken Brown Cow, Lizard King, Romans 12:9-16
2026/07/10
This week on Beers & Bible, we continue through Romans 12 and look at what genuine, gospel-shaped love looks like in the life of the church. Paul reminds us that Christian love is never fake, shallow, or passive. It hates what is evil, clings tightly to what is good, honors others above self, serves the Lord with zeal, rejoices in hope, stays patient in suffering, and remains steadfast in prayer. We also talk about what it means to bless others, show hospitality, rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep, and walk in humility rather than selfish ambition. The Christian life is not lived alone—it is lived together as the family of God, shaped by the mercy of Christ. 🍺 Featured Beers:Anthony — Brown Chicken Brown Cow by Escape BrewingMichael — Lizard King by Pipeworks Brewing
298 - PB&J Mixtape, Savannah Banana Beer, Romans 12:3-8
2026/07/03
This week on Beers & Bible, we continue through Romans 12 and Paul’s call for believers to think soberly about themselves. The Christian life is not about pride, comparison, or chasing the gifts of others. It is about receiving God’s grace with humility and using what He has given us for the good of the body of Christ. Paul reminds us that the church is one body with many members. Not everyone has the same role, but every role matters. Whether it is teaching, serving, giving, leading, or showing mercy, every gift is from God and should be used faithfully, diligently, and cheerfully. The gospel humbles us because everything we have is grace. The gospel also sends us into service because our gifts are not just for us — they are for Christ’s church. 🙌 🍺 Featured Beers: Michael — Savannah Banana Beer by Service Brewing Anthony — PB&J Mixtape by Xul Beer Co.
297 - PC Chocolate Milk Stout, Pace Car, Romans 12:1-2
2026/06/26
🍻 Romans 12:1–2 This week we step into Romans 12 and Paul’s call to live in light of the mercies of God. After eleven chapters of rich gospel truth, Paul turns to the practical response: present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Christian worship is not just something we do on Sunday morning. It is the whole life offered back to God in gratitude for the grace we have received in Christ. Because Jesus gave Himself for us, we now give ourselves to Him. We also talk about what it means to not be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The Christian life is not about outward religious performance, but inward transformation by the power of God’s Word and Spirit. 🍺 Featured Beers:Anthony — PB Chocolate Milk Stout by Lost Coast BrewingMichael — Pace Car by Alesmith Brewing Company
296 - West End Watermelon, Farina Kolsch Style Ale, Romans 11:25-36
2026/06/19
🍺 This week we work through Romans 11:25–36 and Paul’s sweeping conclusion to God’s plan for Israel, the Gentiles, and all creation. We discuss Israel’s partial hardening, God’s irrevocable promises, and the mercy that both Jews and Gentiles desperately need. Paul reminds us that no one can boast before God, no one can counsel Him, and no one can place Him in their debt. The passage ends in worship: all things are from Him, through Him, and to Him. God’s mercy humbles us, His promises steady us, His wisdom silences us, and His glory calls us to praise. 🙌📖 🍉 Anthony: West End Watermelon — Jones Beach Brewing🍺 Michael: Farina Kölsch Style Ale — Halfway Crooks Brewing

Romans 11 — Gospel Jealousy, Grafted Grace, and the Mystery of Israel In this episode, we walk through Paul’s powerful teaching in Romans 11: Israel’s stumbling, the riches of the gospel going to the Gentiles, and God’s continuing purpose for His people. 🌿 Paul reminds us that Gentile believers have been grafted in by grace — not so we can boast, but so we can stand in humility, holiness, and awe before the goodness and severity of God. 🙌 We also talk about gospel jealousy, life from the dead, the fullness of the Gentiles, and why God’s promises should lead us to worship, not arrogance. 🍺 Beers this episode:Anthony — Special Amber by Sprecher BrewingMichael — Maggie’s Peach Farmhouse Ale by Terrapin Brewing Grace grafts us in. 🎙️ A Remnant by Grace In Romans 11, Paul asks the question: Has God rejected His people? His answer is clear — certainly not. This episode walks through God’s faithfulness to His people, the danger of apostasy, the comfort of the remnant, and the mystery of salvation coming to the Gentiles. From Elijah feeling alone to Paul reminding us that God always preserves His people, Romans 11 shows us that the church stands by grace alone. We talk about: 📖 God’s faithfulness to Israel 🔥 Elijah, Baal, and the loneliness of standing for truth ⛪ Apostasy and the marks of a faithful church 🙏 The remnant according to grace 👀 Spiritual blindness and spiritual vitality 🌍 Salvation coming to the Gentiles The big reminder: God has not abandoned His people. Denominations may crumble, churches may drift, and believers may feel alone — but Christ will preserve His church. 🍻 Beers Reviewed: Anthony — Munkle Pils by Munkle Brewing Michael — Happy Cowboy by Line Creek Brewing 🎧 Listen now wherever you get your podcasts. #BeersAndBible #Romans11 #BiblePodcast #ReformedTheology #CraftBeerAndTheology
