In the last year, the FAF and Charlie have been making waves in the field of Architecture raising massive awareness around the exploitation of architectural assistants in the UK. His campaign started as an Instagram poll and transformed into a national survey that was headed by the Architects' Journal. As a result of his whistleblowing campaign and continual social media activism, the Architectural Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) initiated institutional and systematic changes to address the issues and mistreatment experienced by those at the bottom of the profession.

Now I’m gonna be honest with you, I was a little nervous for this one. Because I’ve known the name Marcus Fairs since the early days of university, and Dezeen has had a huge impact not just on me but the entire field of Architecture. It’s changed the discourse. I never thought I’d be sat opposite its founder asking him questions about how he partied with Kanye West and flirted with Zaha Hadid. But Marcus was not an easy person to interview, probably because HE'S normally the one asking the questions!

In this episode, I spoke to Tabish Khan, 'The People’s Art Critic'. Tabish is a London-based art critic and regular writer for the Londonist and FAD Magazine. But he is also a biomedical scientist who cuts up dead bodies, but don’t worry that’s just part of his job.
