4 Days to Make a Movie: The Untold Story Behind Where Fireflies Dance
2026/09/04
What does it take to make a feature film in just four days?
On this episode of Something Something Podcast, we go behind the scenes of Where Fireflies Dance, the new film written, directed, and produced by Grayson Barry, with its two leads, Billy D. Merritt and Brady McInnes.
Billy and Brady take us inside the making of the film—from shooting an entire feature in an incredibly compressed schedule and transforming one property into an entire town, to the pressure of leading a project, working with an actor-turned-director, and finding the trust and chemistry needed to make it all work.
But this conversation goes beyond the movie. Billy and Brady open up about the reality of an actor's life including social media pressure, maintaining a life outside the industry, staying grounded between jobs, and turning adversity into resilience.
Most importantly, this is a story about people coming together to make something happen.
Where Fireflies Dance is now available across multiple platforms, including Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube Movies and more.
