Embedded Executive: Rethink How You Implement AI | Quadric
2026/10/21
Just when you thought you’d heard all the different approaches to developing for AI, another one comes along. Quadric claims to have done just that with an architecture that the company claims is cleaner and simpler than current approaches, yet improves performance substantially.  Hear all about it from Quadric’s CEO and co-founder Veer Kheterpal on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.

Embedded Executive: Think Optical, Not Copper for AI Applications | Lightelligence
2026/10/14
Using optical technologies to move data around is not new. What is new is using optics and photonics for AI applications, particularly at the chip level. Lightelligence has designed a way to harness the shades generated by the photonics technology to significantly boost chip-level transfers. It takes some pressure off the CPUs and memory systems, and potentially reduces the power in the system.  That sounded like rocket science to me, so I asked Mo Steinman, the Senior VP and General Manager of the U.S. at Lightelligence, to explain it to me. Hear his take on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.

Embedded Executive: AI With Less Power | Velaura AI
2026/10/07
AI consumes a lot of power simply because it requires a lot of compute to handle AI calculations. If you could reduce the amount of compute that’s needed to handle those calculations, you could reduce the power that’s required. It sounds simple, but I assure you, it’s anything but.  However, the developers at Velaura AI feel that they have cracked the code, so to speak, in reducing the power needed to run AI computers.  To understand how they’ve done it, and what it means for the future of AI, check out this week’s Embedded Executives podcast, where I spoke to Sanjay Gupta, the Co-founder & President of Velaura AI.
Embedded Executive LIVE at embedded world North America: Everfocus
2026/10/05
Ken Briodagh of Embedded Computing Design finds out all about the machine vision and inspection systems from EverFocus at embedded world North America
Embedded Executive: Behind the Scenes in Wireless | Z-Wave Alliance
2026/09/30
You are likely familiar with the Z-Wave Alliance, a standards development organization that is dedicated to developing and advancing Z-Wave wireless technology. What you may not be aware of is all the work that’s going on behind the scenes at the organization, as well as what’s coming in the near future.  To help rectify that, for you as well as for me, I spoke to Avi Rosenthal, the Board Chairman for the Alliance, on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.
Embedded Executive: AI Doesn’t Work If You Can’t Power It Properly | GlobalFoundries
2026/09/23
AI is front and center in so many conversations these days. However, we tend to focus on the processing element when it comes to AI. While that element is vital to the growth of AI, there’s another area just as important and somewhat under the radar. And that’s power. We need a way to efficiently power these huge processing elements.  To try and move the needle of the power front, I spoke to Nick Comfoltey, the Vice President of Home & Industrial IoT End Markets at GlobalFoundries on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast. Nick has a great understanding of why power doesn’t get the share of the spotlight that it deserves, and more importantly, what needs to happen to ensure that sufficient power is delivered.
Embedded Executive: What’s Up With SDVs | Infineon
2026/09/16
The term software-defined vehicle (SDV) is not new, not even close. The technology has been around for a long time, and you could argue it has been in place and in use for a long time. But the vision goes so far beyond what we have seen to date. And to me, that’s pretty disappointing.  To gauge whether my opinion was accurate and, if so, why that’s the case, I spoke to Andrew Hunter, a Senior Vice President with Infineon Technologies on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.
Embedded Executive: The Engineer’s Interview Process | Webster
2026/09/09
Many engineers have been in their current positions for a long time. In many instances, that’s a great thing. But it could mean that you’re missing out on a great opportunity. That said, where do you turn if you’re “job shopping,” and if you get an interview, what do you do?  To answer these questions, and many more, I spoke to Marcus Webster, the Founder and president of Webster and Webster Associates, on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast. Watch the video interview here: https://youtu.be/fuCZ4FIukfA
Embedded Executive: Conversation Started With Memory, Led to Making Better Communities | Micron
2026/09/02
Jeremy Werner, the Senior VP and GM for the Core Data Center Business Unit of Micron, gave the Keynote Address at the recent Future of Memory and Storage conference. I was not able to attend, so I asked Jeremy to join me on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast and walk me through some of the points that he made. We discussed the “memory wall” we're about to hit, and the solutions to avoid hitting the wall. He said, “memory is the new architecture,” which needed an explanation.  Jeremy had much to say about the power and other resources that are needed to drive data centers and fabs, which can be quite controversial. Interestingly, Micron is investing in many of the communities that it builds in. It was very encouraging to hear some of these facts. When you’re done with the podcast, check out the video and press release for more info.
