Send us Fan Mail If you've been paying attention to the local ultra scene, you'll know this name - Eddie Keogh.  Back-to-back runner-up finishes at the Noosa Ultra-Trail Out'n'Back in 2024 and 2025. Second place at the Coastal High 50 back in 2022 and a win last year. And last May, the result that sealed the deal — an age group win at UTA50, the Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB, finishing 20th outright out of over 2,200 finishers and banking his ticket to the OCC start line. OCC — the Orsières-Champex-Chamonix race — is 60 kilometres with somewhere around 3,500 metres of climbing, part of UTMB World Series Finals week, and one of the most stacked start lists in the sport. Send us Fan Mail Liam Thierens has been a fixture at the pointy end of our local ultra scene for years — victories at the Blackall 50 and Blackall 100, plus a standout performance at Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko. And now he's taken that form onto the world stage, qualifying for the big one: the full UTMB in Chamonix. 100-odd miles, over 10,000 metres of climbing, through France, Italy and Switzerland — widely regarded as the toughest, most prestigious race in the sport.  Liam's actually recording this with us from Chamonix itself, having spent time out on the course training and getting a feel for the terrain before race day.
