In this episode of Teal Talks we continue our series Breaking the Bias as we address Victim Selection & Victim Blaming. Understanding these concepts are vital in better understanding how society views victims/survivors. Identifying what perpetrators seek as an opportunity to commit a crime & alongside with how victims are viewed after reporting. By addressing these topics we will be better equipped to fully support victims/survivors without judgement or bias. 

As we continue through the series of "Breaking the Bias" tune in as we explore the topic of Implicit Bias. It's important that we acknowledge the impact that implicit bias, gender bias, and stereotypes can have in victim reporting, sexual assault investigations, and even verdicts/sentencing. Be sure to listen in as we bring awareness of this issue, and also how this issue is being addressed!

In respect of International Women's History Month we begin a series on "Breaking the Bias"! Gender bias and gender roles have the capability of leading to a variety of dangerous outcomes such as gender based violence. It's vital that we have open discussions of how placing bias on specific communities, and genders creates a negative and unsafe society. Join us as we dive into episode one of this series and begin to tackle a greatly needed topic! 

This is the month of "LOVE", and many of us look forward to spending quality time with our partners and sharing intimacy. While so many of us adore this time of the year some who have experienced trauma such as sexual assault dread the thought of it all. Rekindling intimacy and connecting with one's sexuality after sexual assault can be difficult; but it is possible! Join in as we discuss how survivors can reconnect not only with their partners intimately, but to reconnect with themselves. There is hope and possibility to enjoy intimacy and love once again.
