The Substantive Heart of The Ballad Dodecet-Spear & Song & Paddy Maine
2026/09/16
Send us Fan Mail The Substantive Heart of the Ballad DodecetThe Substantive Heart of the Ballad Dodecet asks a deceptively simple question: not merely, “Who am I?” but “What am I?” And then it asks the same question of the Dodecet itself. What is this twelve-book universe actually for? The answer begins with Oisín—Oisean in Scottish Gaelic—the old warrior-poet of the Fianna. In the ancient tradition, he is fighter, witness, survivor and keeper of memory. His companions disappear into death and legend, but the bard remains to speak their names. From that discovery comes one of the central ideas of this episode: the Ballad Dodecet is the stewardship of memory across time. Memory, however, is not merely preservation. It becomes a means of seeing. Oisín remembers the “before” while others inhabit only the “after.” Memory therefore allows him to compare ages, interpret the present, and warn the future. The blind man remembers what the sighted have forgotten. That insight connects unexpectedly with my own life. Long before the Dodecet, I served in the Royal Navy and worked in submarine sonar. A sonar operator learns to distinguish signal from noise—to hear recurring signatures, test them, compare them, and resist premature certainty. That experience produced one of the governing principles of the Dodecet: “A pattern is not proof. It is a summons to pay attention.” From there the episode explores resonance, providence, discernment and what I call “the Amen of the heart”: the point at which one has listened, tested, prayed, remained open to correction, and is nevertheless at peace to proceed. Faith does not make an interpretation true, but there comes a threshold where evidence alone cannot make the final movement of trust and obedience. Time also becomes part of the pattern. At sixty-six, I have had to accept that some patterns simply cannot be seen when we are young because they require elapsed time. Time does not merely delay recognition; sometimes it creates the conditions by which recognition becomes possible. That brings us back to Oisín. The warrior eventually becomes the Balladeer. Strength fades, but memory remains. The spear may deal with the immediate enemy; the poem deals with time. Then came another remarkable discovery. A medieval Irish text describing admission to the Fianna says that no man was taken until he was “a prime poet versed in the twelve books of poesy.” The wording must be handled carefully, but the literary ideal is unmistakable: Poetry came before the spear. The candidate was expected to carry memory, language, discipline and verse before proving himself through extraordinary martial trials. Oisín was not warrior instead of poet, nor poet instead of warrior. He was both. That idea finds a modern echo in Robert Blair “Paddy” Mayne, one of the formative commanders of the SAS, a formidable fighting man who was also deeply drawn to poetry. The warrior and the poet are not mutually exclusive human types. Sometimes the same man carries both the spear and the song. And then there is the number. The Ballad Dodecet consists of twelve books: six Ballads and six companion works. I am a poet. Only afterward did I discover this old Fenian tradition speaking of a warrior-poet versed in twelve books of poesy. What does that prove? Nothing. But it resonates. And so I return to the principle: A pattern is not proof. It is a summons to pay attention. This episode is about memory, time, faith, poetry, warriorship, responsibility and the strange discoveries that can emerge when enough of a life has passed to reveal its patterns. The spear deals with the immediate enemy. The poem deals with time. I am the Balladeer. Support the show 🎵 The Ballad Dodecet™  - Twelve Stories. THE MADNESS OF DYLAN LLEWELLYN-Approaching the Voice of the Dragon
2026/09/09
Send us Fan Mail THE MADNESS OF DYLAN LLEWELLYN Approaching the Voice of the Dragon In this episode of Inside the Ballad Dodecet, we meet Dylan Llewellyn, the damaged, alcoholic, visionary central character of the Welsh novel in The Ballad Dodecet™. His name is deliberate. Dylan comes from Dylan Thomas, whose Under Milk Wood gives him the poet’s Wales. Llewellyn reaches back through Shakespeare’s Captain Fluellen in Henry V to the Welsh name Llywelyn, giving him the warrior’s Wales. Dylan therefore stands somewhere between poetry and battle, vision and damage, memory and madness.  Once, Dylan belonged to a mysterious team. Much of that history is missing from his memory, although fragments remain: concrete rooms, containment systems, engineered spaces, procedures his body seems to remember even when his mind does not. On Carn Ingli — the Mount of Angels — those memories begin breaking through as Dylan encounters six strange points in the landscape and the disturbing realization that whatever he is sensing may be far older than the modern systems surrounding it.   Dylan’s great gift—and perhaps his great illness—is pattern recognition. Years out of ordinary employment have given him time to build an enormous private archive of government reports, astronomical data, military developments, emergency exercises, maps, geological surveys and old witness material. His question is simple: What are they preparing for?  His investigation leads through planetary-defense exercises, Event 201, COVID-era population management, Space Force, DART, global observation systems and ultimately to 99942 Apophis, which will pass extraordinarily close to Earth on Friday, April 13, 2029. Dylan does not necessarily believe Apophis will strike Earth. His question is stranger: What if the passing itself is the event? And, increasingly: What does the serpent-star unlock?   Dylan sends his conclusions to Tad Rex, asking him to preserve them and, if necessary, broadcast them. Meanwhile, another signal is emerging from Wales: Voice of the Dragon — Llais y Ddraig. Above lies Apophis. Below lie hidden waters. Behind Dylan are missing years. Ahead stands a mountain whose silence has already begun to answer. Perhaps Dylan Llewellyn is mad. That does not necessarily mean he is wrong. The Dragon has a voice. Beulah Life-Toward Beulah-There is hope for a Repentant People
2026/09/07
Send us Fan Mail #BeulahLife #TowardBeulah #TheDayAfterRepentance There is hope only for a repentant people. But for a repentant people, there is hope. Welcome to the first episode of **Beulah Life**, a new weekly podcast asking one great question: What happens the day after repentance? Repentance is often imagined as the conclusion of a crisis. In Scripture, it is the beginning of obedience. A household may confess, a church may kneel, and a nation may acknowledge that it has wandered from God—but the morning after the tears, the rubble remains. Institutions must still be rebuilt, wounds must be repaired, habits must be changed, and truth must be restored to the places from which it has been driven. Before we can begin that work, however, we must possess a vision of the place toward which we are travelling. No people will endure the cost of reconstruction unless they can see what reconstruction is intended to serve. That vision is called **Beulah**. The name comes from Isaiah 62:4: “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah.” Hephzibah is the name given to the restored woman, the personified Zion: “My delight is in her.” Beulah is the name given to the restored land: “Married.” The forsaken one is delighted in again, and the desolate land is no longer abandoned. Judgment has not been denied, but neither is judgment permitted to have the final word. John Bunyan later used Beulah in The Pilgrim’s Progress to describe a fruitful country near the Celestial City—a place of clearer sight, renewed strength, fellowship, and hope. Beulah was not Heaven, and it was not the end of the pilgrimage. It was a place where weary travellers could see more clearly because they were drawing nearer to their true destination. That is how Beulah is used in this podcast. Beulah is not a sinless Britain, a perfect church, a flawless government, or a political utopia. It is not a return to an imaginary golden age. It is a working vision of what our homes, churches, schools, laws, communities, borders, institutions, and public life might become if repentance were genuine and obedience followed. Nehemiah and Ezra stand near the beginning of this vision. Nehemiah saw the ruins and rebuilt the walls. He inspected the damage, organised the labour, endured accusation, resisted intimidation, and refused to abandon the work. Ezra came with the Law of God, calling the people back to worship, holiness, confession, truth, and obedience. Both are necessary. Walls without righteousness become a fortress for sin. Spiritual language without truthful public order leaves the vulnerable unprotected. The work requires both the rebuilding of the base and the restoration of the Word. Beulah Life will explore this vision in practical detail. What kind of leaders would a repentant people require? What must be restored, reformed, surrendered, or allowed to die? What would an ordinary day in Beulah look like? What would children be taught? How would justice operate? What would become of the family, the church, the school, the court, the border, the hospital, the farm, the factory, and the public square? This is not nostalgia. The good old days were never entirely good. Every generation inherits both gifts and sins. We must look backwards truthfully without attempting to live backwards nostalgically. The road to Beulah does not begin in some romanticised version of the past. It begins with obedient steps taken now upon the good and narrow way. This vision also belongs within the wider world of **The Ballad Dodecet**—six narrative Ballads and six companion Margins books set across England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Canada, and the United States. Its characters must not merely fight present darkness; they must possess a vision of the good toward which they are travelling. Victory cannot be defined only by what is defeated. We must also ask what will be defended, planted, built, inherited, and handed to the generations that follow. The episode concludes with the new Iron Hymn: *RISE AND BUILD — THE ROAD TO BEULAH* “Rise and build, repentant people, Stone by stone and hand in hand; There is hope beyond the ashes, There is yet a Beulah Land.” New episodes of Beulah Life will be published regularly as this vision develops. BUNKER BERT Keep Your Powder Dry
2026/09/05
Send us Fan Mail BEFORE SERVICES ARRIVE | Bunker Bert Brindle on Preparedness, Government & the Day After Day Three What happens when the Government tells you to keep three days of food and water because you may need to survive “before the services arrive”? Albert “Bunker Bert” Brindle has a rather different question: What happens if the services don’t arrive at all? In this edition of The Keeper’s Notebook, Bert takes a long, hard look at Britain’s growing conversation about emergency preparedness, fragile food supply chains, overstretched public services, war planning, cyberattack, extreme weather, energy dependence and the uncomfortable reality that modern life rests upon systems most of us barely understand. The Government talks about three days. Bert calls that an emergency kit. For a genuine prolonged crisis, he gives it another name: the three-day suicide bundle. Because the important question is not whether you can survive until Thursday. It is what you intend to do on Friday. Bert remembers a Britain where you could see a doctor, get a dentist appointment without mounting a military campaign, contact the council and occasionally receive an answer before you had forgotten the original question. He looks at the strain already visible in ordinary times and asks the obvious question: if systems struggle during normality, what happens when normality disappears? This episode also touches on the difficult subject of public trust, including Bert’s memories of friends who lived through the pandemic, the choices people made about vaccination and healthcare, and the questions that remain when personal experience does not fit neatly into official narratives. Bert does not pretend anecdote proves causation. His argument is simpler: never surrender responsibility for your own health merely because somebody else has a letterhead. And then there is war. Europe is talking about national resilience. Governments are talking about defence, infrastructure, reserves and preparedness. Food moves largely because fuel moves. Money increasingly exists inside electronic systems. Supermarkets depend upon long and complex supply chains. Medicines depend upon manufacturing, transport and distribution networks that most households never think about until something stops. Bert thinks we should start thinking. Not panicking. Preparing. For Bert, preparedness begins with three circles: Yourself.  Your family.  Your community. Take responsibility for your health, food, water, heat, medicines, finances and practical skills. Know what your household needs. Know your neighbours. Know who can repair an engine, grow food, dress a wound, use a radio, fix electrics, preserve food, sew, weld, cook without mains power or simply remain calm when everybody else is losing their head. Preparedness is not merely hoarding. It is building a network of competence. And Bunker Bert has three rules for responsible citizenship: Rule One: Never trust the Government.  Rule Two: Never trust the Government.  Rule Three: NEVER TRUST THE BLOODY GOVERNMENT. Not because every official statement is false. Not because every conspiracy theory is true. But because trust transfers responsibility. Prudence retains it. This is not happy prepping. Bert calls himself a terrified prepper, because anybody who seriously studies prolonged social breakdown knows there is very little romantic about empty shelves, contaminated water, failing communications, interrupted medicine supplies, cold houses, frightened families and overwhelmed emergency services. His advice is simple: Learn now. Store now. Repair now. Grow now. Preserve now. Get to know your neighbours now. Because the worst possible time to learn how to survive without the systems around you is the day those systems stop working. BERTISM “A three-day box is an emergency kit. Preparedness is knowing what you will do on day four.” And remember: The services will not arrive.  The services will not arrive.  The services will not arrive. So you had better have a plan. Quite the opposite. Each signal will retain its own music, character, history, language, culture and sense of place. But they will now belong to one Broadcasting House, carrying one developing broadcast schedule. Six nations. Six voices. One signal. Dodecet Radio is already broadcasting through a substantial rotating playlist representing the breadth of what is being built. The next major stage begins on: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2026 From October through December, the structured schedule will continue to grow, programme by programme and hour by hour. God willing, our aim is that from: JANUARY 1, 2027 Dodecet Radio will carry a complete 24-hour daily broadcasting schedule. English will provide the common foundational language across the Broadcasting House, but the signal will also reflect the languages and cultures of the nations themselves. Listeners can expect Welsh, Irish, Scottish Gaelic, French Canadian influences, Spanish from the American cultural landscape, regional dialects and accents, alongside the extraordinary variety of English spoken across these countries. The same breadth will be heard in the music. Country. Bluegrass. Gospel. Folk. Rock. Traditional music. Hymns. Choruses. Modern worship. Original songs. Welsh song. Irish and Scottish Gaelic music. French and Spanish-language music. The purpose is not to flatten six nations into an anonymous international sound. It is to let real places, real stories and real voices remain themselves while sharing one signal. Programming being developed across Dodecet Radio includes: The Sunday Sermon — weekly biblical preaching. The Midweek Message — One Word for Six Nations — one message carried across the Broadcasting House. Night Whispers — daily Scripture, devotion, reflection and prayer. The Fellowship of the Book — reading through the whole Bible over the course of a year. Dispatches from The Way — Christian commentary, observation and cultural engagement. Alongside these will come music programmes, storytelling, interviews, testimony, radio drama, spoken word, original recordings and programming drawn from the wider world of The Ballad Dodecet™. The Ballad Dodecet is a much larger creative and Christian undertaking built around six principal books and six companion volumes rooted in these same six nations: England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, America and Canada. Its guiding idea is: FICTION THAT FORMS. It moves through story, music, preaching, radio, poetry, websites, film, photography, archives, real journeys and real human voices. Dodecet Radio is therefore not simply publicity for the books. The signal is part of the work itself. And when the twelve principal books are finally completed, the Broadcasting House is intended to continue. Songs will still need singing. Scripture will still need reading. Sermons will still need preaching. Stories will still need preserving. Communities will still need voices. And somewhere, someone will still be awake in the small hours, grateful to hear another human voice coming through the radio. That is why we are building Dodecet Radio. STORY. SONG. SCRIPTURE. SOUL. When All You Can Say Is “Oh Jesus” | The Shades of Jesus | Night Whisper 00275
2026/09/03
Send us Fan Mail Welcome to *Night Whispers*, presented by the broadcasting house of Dodecet Radio. In this devotional, we reflect on the simple cry, “Oh Jesus”—the words that rise when the world collapses, when loneliness is broken by unexpected joy, when a doctor’s voice changes the future, and when a father first holds a newborn child. In every scene, the same name is spoken, but never as a charm or superstition. Jesus Himself is the strong tower. His name reveals the Person to whom the righteous run: our Lord, our Savior, our refuge, our shelter, and our King. This Night Whisper asks what comes out of our mouths when we are frightened, grieving, grateful, or overwhelmed. Can we learn to trust Christ in the ordinary hours, so that when every carefully prepared sentence deserts us, the heart still knows where to turn? Those who bear His name are also called to live beneath it. We must not speak the name of Jesus while making it contemptible through pride, cruelty, dishonesty, indifference, or lovelessness. If He is our refuge, He is also our King. If we call upon Him, we must serve beneath His name. Listen, reflect, and pray: “Oh Jesus. Oh Jesus. Oh Jesus.” Scripture: Proverbs 18:10 (NKJV) “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.” Presented by Dodecet Radio Series: Night Whispers Episode: 00275 Title: The Shades of Jesus If this devotional speaks to you, please like, subscribe, and share it with someone who may need to remember where true refuge is found. #NightWhispers #TheShadesOfJesus #Jesus #ChristianDevotional #Proverbs1810 #Gospel #DodecetRadio Support the show 🎵 The Ballad Dodecet™  - Twelve Stories. The Sunday Sermon - PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD - Amos 4:12
2026/09/01
Send us Fan Mail PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD | The Sunday Sermon“Prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.” — Amos 4:12 KJV There are verses in the Bible that comfort us. There are verses that encourage us, strengthen us, and carry us through the darkness. And then there are verses that stop us dead in our tracks. Prepare to meet thy God. In this edition of The Sunday Sermon, Rev. Victor Robert Farrell takes up one of the most solemn commands ever spoken by God to man. It is not a suggestion. It is not religious decoration. It is not a subject reserved for theologians, preachers, or the elderly. It is an appointment. Every human being who has ever drawn breath is moving toward a meeting with God. We spend our lives preparing for things. We prepare for work. We prepare for marriage. We prepare for children. We prepare our homes, our finances, our holidays, our retirement, and eventually even our funerals. We insure ourselves against events that may never happen. Yet Scripture confronts us with the one appointment that will happen. You will meet God. The question is not whether that meeting is in your diary. The question is whether you are prepared for it. And yet the Christian Gospel does not leave us standing beneath the thunder of judgment without hope. For the extraordinary message of Christianity is this: The God whom we must meet has already come to meet us. Jesus Christ entered our world. He walked among sinners. He called men and women to repentance. He went willingly to the Cross. He bore sin. He was buried. And on the third day, He rose again. The grave could not hold Him. Death could not defeat Him. And the Christ who came first as Savior will come again as King and Judge. Between sinful humanity and the judgment of Almighty God therefore stands the Cross of Jesus Christ. There is mercy there. There is forgiveness there. There is reconciliation there. There is cleansing there. There is still an open door. But Scripture never tells us that the door will remain open forever. We are promised Christ. We are promised forgiveness for those who come to Him. We are promised eternal life through faith in Him. We are not promised tomorrow. That makes Amos 4:12 more than an ancient warning to Israel. It becomes a question addressed to every one of us: Are you prepared to meet your God? Not prepared merely to die. Not prepared merely to have your affairs in order. Not prepared merely to leave something behind. Prepared to stand before God. This sermon is therefore both warning and invitation. Open the Scriptures. Examine yourself. Think upon these things. Pray upon them. And where God requires repentance, repent. Where God commands faith, believe. Where Christ calls you to follow, follow. Do not assume there will always be another Sunday, another sermon, another opportunity, another invitation, another tomorrow. One day preparation will end. And the meeting will begin. Prepare to meet thy God. THE SUNDAY SERMON Biblical preaching and teaching from  Rev. Victor Robert Farrell From The Ballad Dodecet™ / Dodecet Radio One Gospel. Six Nations. One King. The Midweek Message - The First Crack of the Whip - There is Always a Third Day -0001
2026/08/26
Send us Fan Mail Episode Title The First Crack of the Whip — When Mary’s Face Was First Turned Toward Golgotha Programme The Midweek Message — Six Nations. One Word. Presenter Rev. Victor Robert Farrell Episode Description Mary and Joseph have lost Jesus. For three days they search Jerusalem for their twelve-year-old son, until at last they find Him sitting among the teachers in the Temple. Mary’s words are restrained, but behind them lies a parent’s terror: “Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.” And then Jesus answers: “Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” In this first edition of The Midweek Message, Rev. Victor Robert Farrell opens Luke 2:41–52 and asks us to hear something beneath this familiar story. Jerusalem. A Son lost. A mother seeking Him sorrowing. The purposes of His Father. Three days. And a finding beyond expectation. Mary could not yet see Golgotha. She could not know what Simeon’s promised sword would eventually mean. But perhaps, in this strange and painful moment, her face was turned toward the Cross for the first time. There are moments in our own lives when we hear something in the distance: the crack of something approaching, the chill of a shadow across our path, the smell of something foul upon the wind. We lose someone. We lose hope. We lose work. Something precious is hidden from us, removed from us, or taken from us. And we do not possess the next verse. Mary didn’t either. Yet the Christian Gospel declares that Friday never has the final word. There is always a third day. Scripture Luke 2:41–52 (KJV) The Midweek Message Six Nations. One Word. The Closed Well
2026/07/07
Send us Fan Mail The Deep Places Are Locked The Closed Well Choir Songs from The Twelve Plates of Witness From the Fraternal Order of the Closed Well comes The Deep Places Are Locked, the first gathered song-cycle of The Closed Well Choir. These songs give voice to Rev. T. R. Oliver Croftbarrel’s recovered sequence, The Twelve Plates of Witness — engraved visions of sealed waters, national memory, buried grief, covenant witness, restrained judgement, and mercy holding back the deep. This is not performance for fame.  This is not music for spectacle.  This is witness. The well is closed.  The waters are restrained.  The hourglass runs.  The watchtower stands.  The branch still lives.  The witness waits. Each song follows one plate, beginning with The Closed Well, where the whole witness begins: the deep places are real, but locked; the waters are dangerous, but restrained; and mercy itself may sometimes appear as an iron door. The deep places are locked.  The waters are restrained.  Mercy holds the iron door  till the Lord shall speak again. The Deep Places Are Locked is part of The Ballad Dodecet™ universe. Go Tell The Kingdom-Hymn-12- From 12 Rights-12-THE RIGHT TO PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL
2026/06/23
Send us Fan Mail Go Tell the Kingdom is Hymn Number 12 from The Rights We Sing: Twelve Hymns for the Twelve Christian Rights. Performed by Silas Creed & The Crescent Hill Conservatory Choir, recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, this final hymn completes the Iron Hymns sequence with rugged country gospel, strong male baritone lead, deep male harmonies, low drums, gospel proclamation, and kingdom fire. This hymn corresponds to the Twelfth Right: The Right to Proclaim the Gospel. After the first eleven hymns declare life, the worship of the one true God, the rejection of false gods, reverence for the Name of God, gathered worship, household order, life free from violence, faithfulness in marriage, stewardship, truthful witness, and holy contentment, this twelfth hymn turns outward. The people of God are sent. Go Tell the Kingdom is a hymn of proclamation. It is not private comfort hidden away. It is not a timid whisper. It is not a faith kept safely indoors. It is a trumpet call to carry the good news of Jesus Christ into the world. The heart of the hymn is clear: Go tell the Kingdom Tell it loud and plain Christ was nailed for sinners And He broke the grave again This song declares the cross, the blood, the empty tomb, the mercy of God, the pardon of sinners, and the coming reign of Christ. It is for the kitchen, the graveyard, the prison, the rain, the pulpit, the radio, the road, the town, the city, the holler, and the farthest home. The gospel is not an optional extra. It is the message the Church has been given to carry: Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again. This final hymn gathers the whole album into one sending cry. The rights are not merely to be protected. They are to be lived, sung, preached, guarded, and carried into the world under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Musically, this is rugged country gospel with revival weight: deep male choir, low drums, strong baritone lead, open-road momentum, and the sound of a people sent with the Bible in their hands and fire in their bones. This is not soft worship. This is not sentimental religion. This is the sound of the gospel being carried. Enough is A Hallelujah-Hymn-11- From 12 Rights-11-THE RIGHT TO REJOICE WITHOUT COVETNOUS
2026/06/23
Send us Fan Mail Enough Is a Hallelujah is Hymn Number 11 from The Rights We Sing: Twelve Hymns for the Twelve Christian Rights. Performed by Silas Creed & The Crescent Hill Conservatory Choir, recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, this hymn continues the Iron Hymns sound: rugged country gospel, strong male baritone lead, deep male harmonies, low drums, gratitude with backbone, and contentment as warfare. This hymn corresponds to the Eleventh Right: The Right to Contentment. After the first ten hymns declare life, the worship of the one true God, the rejection of false gods, reverence for the Name of God, gathered worship, household order, life free from violence, faithfulness in marriage, stewardship, and truthful witness, this eleventh hymn stands at the small table and gives thanks. Enough Is a Hallelujah is not a hymn of laziness. It is not a hymn of defeat. It is not a hymn that despises ambition, labour, or provision. It is a hymn of holy contentment. It recognises that coveting is a hunger with a hole where thanks should be. Envy looks at another man’s portion and calls God unjust. Gratitude looks at the bread in hand and blesses the Giver. The heart of the hymn is clear: Enough is a Hallelujah Enough is a battle cry Enough is how a thankful man Looks the devil in the eye This song speaks against comparison, resentment, envy, and the restless spirit that can never rejoice because someone else has more. It blesses the crust. It blesses the cup. It blesses the hand that lifts us up. It blesses the work, the rest, the small table, the gathered family, and the Father who still stands beside His children. Contentment is not weakness. It is not passivity. It is spiritual resistance. It is the refusal to let envy steal praise. Musically, this is rugged country gospel with a warm hearth-and-table feel: deep male choir, steady drums, acoustic weight, and a baritone lead that sounds like a man who has learned to give thanks without surrendering his backbone. This is not soft worship. This is not prosperity religion. This is the sound of gratitude standing its ground. Covenant Fire-Hymn-08 - From 12 Rights-08-THE RIGHT TO FAITHFULNESS IN MARRIAGE
2026/06/23
Send us Fan Mail Covenant Fire is Hymn Number 8 from The Rights We Sing: Twelve Hymns for the Twelve Christian Rights. Performed by Silas Creed & The Crescent Hill Conservatory Choir, recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, this hymn continues the Iron Hymns sound: rugged country gospel, strong male baritone lead, deep male harmonies, low drums, covenant weight, and faithful fire. This hymn corresponds to the Eighth Right: The Right to Faithfulness in Marriage. After the first seven hymns declare life, the worship of the one true God, the rejection of false gods, reverence for the Name of God, gathered worship, household order, and life free from violence, this eighth hymn stands before the marriage covenant. Covenant Fire is not a soft love song. It is a hymn of vow, fidelity, endurance, repentance, mercy, and holy desire. It remembers that marriage is not merely a feeling, a contract, a mood, or a romantic season. It is a covenant made before God. The heart of the hymn is clear: Covenant fire Burning through the years Stronger than the wanting Deeper than the tears This song speaks to the long obedience of marriage: coffee mornings, rainy nights, sharp words repented of, bills beside the Bible, silence in the room, grace through the doorway, and two sinners learning to love under the Lordship of Christ. It is about guarding the door, guarding the eyes, guarding the vow, and refusing the old sins when they rise. The ring is not a chain. It is a circle round a flame. The vow is not a cage. It is a shelter in the rain. Covenant Fire carries warmth, but not weakness. It honours love as something holy, durable, costly, and guarded by God. It is a song for husbands and wives who know that faithfulness must be chosen again and again, not merely felt once and remembered. Musically, this is rugged country gospel with a solemn marriage fire: deep male choir, steady drums, restrained organ, warm acoustic weight, and a baritone lead that sounds like a man renewing his vow before God. This is not sentimental romance. This is not soft worship. This is the sound of a covenant still burning. No Blood On My Hands-Hymn-07 - From 12 Rights-07-THE RIGHT TO LIFE FREE FROM VIOLENCE
2026/06/23
Send us Fan Mail This House Belongs to God is Hymn Number 6 from The Rights We Sing: Twelve Hymns for the Twelve Christian Rights. Performed by Silas Creed & The Crescent Hill Conservatory Choir, recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, this hymn continues the Iron Hymns sound: rugged country gospel, strong male baritone lead, deep male harmonies, low drums, household faith, and fatherly backbone. This hymn corresponds to the Sixth Right: The Right to Honour Family Order. After the first five hymns declare life, the worship of the one true God, the rejection of false gods, reverence for the Name of God, and the gathering of God’s people, this sixth hymn brings the declaration home. Not merely into church buildings. Not merely into public confession. But into the kitchen, the doorway, the cradle, the table, the marriage bed, the family room, the prayer chair, and the hard daily work of keeping a household under God. This House Belongs to God is a hymn of household consecration. It declares that the Christian home is not owned by the age, the screen, the street, the state, or the idols of unbelief. It belongs first to the Lord. This is a song for fathers needing courage, mothers holding fast, children needing blessing, kin needing refuge, and families learning how to stand in a world that wants to reorder everything. The heart of the hymn is clear: This house belongs to God Every room and every stone Every child beneath this roof Every seed of mercy sown This is not nostalgia. It is not sentimental family religion. It is a strong declaration that household order is holy ground. A home is not just a place where people sleep. It is a place where souls are formed, mercy is practised, children are guarded, Scripture is opened, forgiveness is learned, and Christ is honoured. The hymn carries warmth, but not softness. There is fire in it: the fire of covenant, duty, protection, prayer, and faithful love. It says: Let the world rage at the door. Let the storms come hard and broad. We will lift the Bible higher. This house belongs to God. Musically, this is rugged country gospel with deep male choir strength, low drums, steady conviction, and the feel of a family standing together beneath the Word of God. This is not soft worship. This is not decorative religion. This is the sound of a household being claimed for the Lord. Meet Me At The House of God -Hymn-05 - From 12 Rights-05-THE RIGHT TO GATHER IN WORSHIP
2026/06/23
Send us Fan Mail Meet Me at the House of God is Hymn Number 5 from The Rights We Sing: Twelve Hymns for the Twelve Christian Rights. Performed by Silas Creed & The Crescent Hill Conservatory Choir, recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, this hymn continues the Iron Hymns sound: rugged country gospel, strong male baritone lead, deep male harmonies, low drums, church-bell weight, and gathered worship fire. This hymn corresponds to the Fifth Right: The Right to Gather in Worship. After the first four hymns declare life, the worship of the one true God, the rejection of false gods, and reverence for the Name of God, this fifth hymn calls the people of God together. The Christian faith is not meant to be lived as a lonely performance. We are called into the household of faith, around the Word, among the saints, under the Lordship of Christ. Meet Me at the House of God is a song for weary believers making their way through rain, fog, trouble, grief, opposition, and ordinary life — still answering the bell, still opening the Bible, still gathering with the people of God. This is not a crowd chasing a show. This is not a market. This is not religious entertainment. This is the covenant people of God coming together to pray, sing, hear the Word, break bread, lift holy hands, bear one another’s burdens, and remember that we were never meant to walk alone. The heart of the hymn is simple: Meet me at the house of God Where the weary learn to stand Where the Word is bread and thunder Where the broken find a hand The hymn carries a warm but rugged spirit: a church bell across the valley, families on the road, elders in the pews, children at the door, saints coming through the fog, and a Bible waiting open. It is country gospel with a Highland edge — strong, reverent, communal, and full of grit. This is not soft worship. This is not sentimental religion. This is the sound of the people of God coming home. No Other Altar -Hymn-03 - From 12 Rights-03-THE RIGHT TO REJECT FALSE GODS
2026/06/23
Send us Fan Mail No Other Altar is Hymn Number 3 from The Rights We Sing: Twelve Hymns for the Twelve Christian Rights. Performed by Silas Creed & The Crescent Hill Conservatory Choir, recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, this hymn continues the Iron Hymns sound: rugged country gospel, strong male baritone lead, deep male harmonies, low drums, solemn fire, and holy defiance. This hymn corresponds to the Third Right: The Right to Reject False Gods. If Breath Belongs to God declares that life belongs to the Lord, and One Throne, One Name declares that worship belongs to the one true God, then No Other Altar takes the next necessary step: Every false god must be refused. This is not a song of vague spirituality. It is not a polite nod toward religion in general. It is an Iron Hymn of renunciation — a sung rejection of idols, counterfeit saviours, false worship, cultural gods, fashionable lies, and every altar built by human pride. False gods do not always arrive as carved statues. Sometimes they come as money. Sometimes as pleasure. Sometimes as fear. Sometimes as power. Sometimes as self. Sometimes as state. Sometimes as ideology. Sometimes as technology. Sometimes as appetite, status, or the mirror and the screen. They glitter for a day, but they cannot save. They promise freedom, but they forge chains. They call darkness light and shame liberty. The answer of the hymn is clear: No other altar. No other flame. No other master. No other name. At its heart, No Other Altar recognises that worship is never neutral. Whatever a man bows before will eventually shape him. Whatever a family serves will eventually rule the household. Whatever a nation honours will eventually claim its children. This hymn is therefore a refusal. A refusal to burn incense to the gods of dying men. A refusal to surrender to the idols of self and greed. A refusal to trade the living God for something our own hands have made. A refusal to treat Christ as merely one option among many. The song rises from warning into confession, from confession into renunciation, and from renunciation into worship. This is country gospel with iron in the spine: a strong baritone voice, a gathered male choir, low drums, restrained organ, and the sound of idols falling before the living God. This is not soft worship. This is not sentimental religion. This is holy refusal.
