Wrasslin' Raw is a wrestling podcast that centers around three friends doing a deep-dive into World Wrestling Entertainment's past. Starting in 1993, Joe, Ryan, and Jason take a look back at old-school wrestling by watching the WWE show Monday Night Raw in chronological order, along with the Pay-Per-Views as they happen. Bringing together three different viewpoints that sometimes agree and sometimes don't, Wrasslin' Raw is a round table discussion centered around individual episodes and events. Our hosts give opinions on matches, wrestlers, and storylines, as well as brief glimpses into the then-contemporary world of professional sports entertainment. Fans of wrestling from their early youth, the boys decided one day to start re-watching old episodes of Raw. This started a texting discussion thread that wound up revealing some reevaluations of old favorites, new appreciation for things overlooked, and an overall richer viewpoint that has been informed by hindsight. Realizing this, the suggestion to record a podcast of the discussion was made and Wrasslin' Raw was born. WELCOME EVERYONE- TO WRASSLIN' RAWWWWWW!

WWE: Royal Rumble 1999

Here's an idea: Mankind can take some chair shots to the head! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys watch one of the most memorable Pay Per Views, the 1999 Royal Rumble. Mankind and the Rock headline this in the brutal "I Quit" Match, while the story between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon hits a new high with the finish of the Rumble. Sable returns to take on Luna, somehow Gangrel gets a European title shot, and Bad Ass Billy Gunn falls flat. McMahon is not on the juice!

There's a rumble in the air! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys view the go-home show leading into the 1999 Royal Rumble. The Road Dogg Jesse continues to rule the Hardcore Division, Goldust continues to fall down the ladder, and Dan Severn continues to appear on our screens. The Stooges and Chyna have an Intergender Match, Kane finally has enough of the Corporation, and Stone Cold Steve Austin pops the crowd by drinking out of a Dixie Cup. Thank goodness Mankind can take chair shots!

Why doesn't Test know how to dress himself? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys get the fallout from Mankind's Championship win, and matches start getting set for the Royal Rumble. Val Venis flirts with Ken Shamrock's sister, the Road Dogg gets drenched in a mysterious red liquid, and Goldust has turned his attention to Al Snow's Head. Michael Cole continues to be the bane of everyone's existence, and the Undertaker performs a blood ritual for the children in the audience. Et tu, Brutus?

Who is this man and why is he chained to a pole? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys kick off 1999 with an all-time classic episode of Monday Night Raw. Promos from Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels, and Mankind set the stage, while matches featuring D-Lo Brown and Goldust prop up the midcard. Chyna brings her friend "Sammy" into the mix, the Road Dogg remains the Hardcore Champion, and Mankind takes on the Rock for the WWF Championship. Foley Is Good!

That's it folks, we're done with 1998! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys take a look back at the single most formative year for the WWE in the 90's. Match of the Year candidates are voted upon, the Jobber of the Year is revealed, and the WWE climbs out of the bottom of the barrel in Wrestling Observer Awards. Highlights, Lowlights, and what's being looked forward to in 1999 cap off the most entertaining year of wrestling so far- it had us a-moanin' and a-groanin' and a-screamin'!

Wait, do you think somebody might be getting fired tonight? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys review the final episode of Monday Night Raw in 1998, where Vince McMahon enacts his revenge against DX. Matches get booked between Triple H and Ken Shamrock, X-pac and the Big Bossman, Billy Gunn and Kane, and the Road Dogg against Mankind. Al Snow is still covered in a mysterious red substance, and Sable is back on our screens. The Rock says, "Shut your mouth Michael Cole!"

You can't have Sexual Chocolate without any whipped cream! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys get exposed to Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry's most erotic, depraved adventure yet. Gangrel and the Brood continue to give people blood baths, Shane McMahon takes the reins while Vince is away, and Commissioner Shawn Michaels makes some great matches. The Big Bossman and the Road Dogg are surprisingly good, while the Blue Blazer story continues to be predictably bad. That's gotta be… a C-clamp!

Does it look like Vince needs to get on a cycle or two? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys examine the fallout from the Rock Bottom Pay Per View, with championship matches being made for the New Age Outlaws against Ken Shamrock and the Big Bossman, as well as the Rock defending his title against Triple H. The Blue Blazer continues to stink up the card, and Michael Cole leaves quite a bit to be desired on commentary. But hey, we got to make a Linda Tripp reference!

It's the Pay Per View that buries itself! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys examine one of the weakest Pay Per Views in recent memory, full of disappointing moments in some surprising places. The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind and the Rock all end up with low star counts, while the undercard does its best to prop the show up. D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry delivered, and so did Goldust. Don't forget about that special treat though: Debra's Tastykakes!

Two Tiger appearances is too much! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys review the go-home show leading into the Rock Bottom Pay Per View. The Rock, Mankind, the Undertaker, and Stone Cold Steve Austin all take part in a climactic main event, but the undercard left something to be desired. Steve Blackman and Jeff Jarrett continue to circle the drain, Hawk gets his first mention post-murder, and the Brood are trending downward. At least Sloppy Bob got to walk away with the Ho's, though!

In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys sit down to watch a great episode that highlights the blossoming romance between Mark Henry and Chyna, much to D-Lo Brown's chagrin. The Acolytes appear to have debuted somewhere else already, Triple H makes his return to our screens, and the Big Bossman gets a little gold for his waist. The Undertaker continues his hunt for the opposition, this time in the form of Kane, and Stone Cold Steve Austin seeks his revenge!

In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys take a look at the ongoing machinations of the McMahon family, as Mankind defends his Hardcore Title against the Big Bossman and Ken Shamrock; Shawn Michaels' return at Vince's request is a little suspect, and the Undertaker is hunting Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Blue Blazer continues to be a stain on the legacy of Owen Hart, and the New Age Outlaws continue to circle the drain… At least Sable wasn't in this one!

In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys take a look at the fallout from Survivor Series, with phenomenal storytelling from The Rock, Vince and Shane McMahon, and Mankind. Mark Henry takes a big step up in his angle with Chyna, Ken Shamrock enters the next phase of being a heel, and D-Generation X continues to languish without Triple H. You know what else this episode could use? A suicide angle!

In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys get ushered into a new phase of the Attitude Era, where The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin find themselves facing each other at the top. The tournament for the WWF Championship plays out, and Mankind, Ken Shamrock, and the Undertaker all take part in it. Sable becomes the Women's Champion, and Marc Mero sinks even further into oblivion. Oh, and guess what? Earl Hebner gets punched in the face!

Another classic episode of Raw as we head into the 1998 Survivor Series. Mankind gets a makeover and defends the WWE Hardcore Championship for the first time ever against Ken Shamrock! The Rock has to fight his way back into the Survivor Series tournament, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Big Boss Man exchange words on the mic, and the Brood and a lowly referee get soaked with gasoline by Kane. An action packed go-home show from WWE!
