Your Spiritual Gifts Are Not About You
2026/10/04
The gifts God gave you were never meant to impress anyone. Romans 12 says they exist to serve the body. And the fruit of the Spirit matters more than the gifts ever will.
What Worship Actually Means (It's Not the Music)
2026/09/27
Most people think worship is a Sunday morning music set. Romans 12 says it's your whole life. And the thing shaping that life might not be what you think.
What to Do When God's Plan Makes No Sense
2026/09/20
When life doesn't follow the plan you expected, it's easy to wonder if God is still in it. Romans 11 doesn't explain everything. It invites you to trust the one who holds it all.
Why Christians Have Nothing to Be Arrogant About
2026/09/13
You didn't start this story. You were invited into it. Romans 11 reminds Gentile believers that grace was never something we earned — and that changes everything.
When You Wonder If God Is Finally Done With You
2026/09/06
When life falls apart and God feels silent, it's easy to wonder if He's given up on you. Romans 11 says He hasn't. He's still working. He was never done with Israel — and He's not done with you.
How Does Anyone Hear the Gospel? Romans 10 Answers
2026/08/30
Someone had to go. Someone had to speak. That's how you heard about Jesus. Romans 10 says the Gospel moves through ordinary people — and that includes you.
What If You're Running Hard in the Wrong Direction?
2026/08/23
Passion and certainty don't guarantee you're headed the right way. Romans 10 says Israel had enormous zeal for God and still missed Him. Sound familiar?
When Religion Replaces Actually Trusting God
2026/08/16
Israel had every sign of belonging to God and still missed Him. Romans 9 asks the harder question: do you have the credentials, or do you actually trust Jesus with your life?
Why God’s Mercy Isn’t Fair (And Why That’s Good)
2026/08/09
Nobody deserves God’s mercy. That’s exactly the point. Romans 9 isn’t about who God picks. It’s about why anyone gets saved at all — and the answer is humbling.
Are You Suffering for the Right Things? Romans 9
2026/08/02
Paul's heart breaks for people who don't know Jesus. Romans 9 asks a harder question: what are you actually willing to suffer for? And is it worth it?
Where Is God When You’re Suffering? Romans 8 Answers
2026/07/26
Romans 8 doesn’t explain away pain or promise it will end soon. It promises something better: that you will never suffer alone, and nothing can separate you from God’s love.
You Are Not Condemned: What Romans 8:1 Actually Means
2026/07/19
That voice that says you're too far gone, too broken, too inconsistent? Romans 8:1 calls it what it is. The verdict has already been overturned. You are not condemned.
You Were Set Free. So Why Does Sin Still Feel Like Home?
2026/07/12
Most Christians know they’re forgiven. But a lot of us keep going back to the same sins, the same patterns, the same chains. Romans 7 isn’t giving you an excuse for that. It’s showing you the prison you’ve already been set free from.

In the waters of baptism…
You are…
• United with Jesus.
Baptism is not just you making a public statement about Jesus. It is Jesus bringing you into His story.
“All of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus…” — Romans 6:3
• Baptized into His death.
You don’t just admire the cross. You are joined to the crucified Christ. The old you doesn’t need improvement. The old you needs to die!
“Baptized into his death…” — Romans 6:3
• The old self is buried with Christ.
Baptism is a funeral before it is a celebration.
The water becomes the grave of the person you used to be.
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death…” — Romans 6:4
• Raised into new life.
You don’t go into the water as a sinner trying hard. You come out as a new creation learning to walk free.
“In order that… we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4
• Joined to the resurrection power of Jesus.
The same power that brought Jesus out of the grave is now at work in you. Christianity is not behavior modification. It is resurrection participation.
“We shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” — Romans 6:5
• Old humanity is crucified with Christ
The old Adam, the broken, fallen version of you — ruled by sin, shame, fear, appetite, and rebellion — is put to death with Christ on the cross.
“Our old self was crucified with him…” — Romans 6:6
But here’s where it starts to get really interesting, as if it wasn’t interesting enough already!
• Sin’s dominion is broken.
Sin may still tempt you, but it is no longer your master. You are not fighting for freedom. You are fighting from freedom.
“So that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.” — Romans 6:6
Now… YOU ARE NO LONGER A SLAVE!
• No longer a slave.
Baptism declares a change of ownership. You used to belong to sin. Now you belong to Christ.
“One who has died has been set free from sin.” — Romans 6:7
• You are Dead to Sin.
Paul is not saying sin is dead to you. He is saying you are dead to sin. Its voice may be loud, but its authority has been shattered.
“Consider yourselves dead to sin…” — Romans 6:11
And now you are alive to God in Christ.
• You are alive to God.
Baptism is not merely about what you leave behind. It is about who you are brought home to - the Father. You are alive in Christ by the Holy Spirit.
“Alive to God in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 6:11
• Your allegiance transfers from the Dominion of Darkness to the Kingdom of Light - No Dual Citizenship! Your body, your desires, your habits, your future — all of it now belongs to Jesus. You don’t present yourself to sin anymore. You present yourself to God.
“Present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life.” — Romans 6:13
• You become part of a new Exodus people.
Like Israel passing through the waters of the Red Sea, baptism says: Egypt is behind you. Pharaoh (death) is not your king. Slavery (sin) is not your identity. Don’t go back to what Jesus drowned.
• You become part of a new humanity.
In Adam, sin reigned. In Christ, grace reigns.
Baptism is the new sign that you’ve been moved from the old world into the new creation.
What Baptism Actually Does (It's More Than a Symbol)
2026/07/05
Paul says baptism isn't just a public declaration. Something happens in the water. Romans 6 makes the case that your old self actually died — and stayed dead.
How to Stop Earning What Jesus Already Paid For
2026/06/28
If you’re still wondering whether God is mad at you, Romans 5 has an answer. Jesus didn’t wait until you got it together. He moved toward you at your worst.
