93. The LinkedIn Shortcuts That Could Cost You Your Account
2026/10/19
Three popular LinkedIn shortcuts break the LinkedIn User Agreement, and a lot of people are still using them. Some know it and do it anyway. Many have no idea they are putting their account at risk. In this episode, we walk through three rules from Section 8 of the LinkedIn User Agreement. We cover automation tools that scrape data or send connection requests and messages for you, engagement pods that manufacture likes and comments, and giving an executive assistant or VA access to your personal account so they can act as you. We also explain what you can hand off, including your company page, and why your personal profile needs to stay yours. LinkedIn is built around real, person to person interaction. There are no shortcuts to building real relationships. Ready to grow on LinkedIn without the risky shortcuts? Join our free four day live workshop, Your LinkedIn Sales System, Tuesday, October 20 to Friday, October 23, 12:30 to 1:30 PM EDT. Replays are available through Sunday, October 25. 92. LinkedIn Profile Tips: New Add Section Layout and Activity Settings
2026/10/12
LinkedIn profile tips for coaches, consultants, and service professionals who want more control over the first impression their profile makes. In this episode of Entrepreneur Rescue Mission, we cover two LinkedIn profile updates you need to know about. First, the Add section button has a new, simpler layout. We walk through the seven main sections, what lives under More, and how to decide which sections are worth adding to your profile. Then we cover an older feature most people have never touched. In your Activity section, one content type is highlighted in green, and that's what visitors see first. You'll learn how to change it to posts, videos, images, newsletters, or events, and why it's worth testing different options and checking your analytics. Ready to turn your LinkedIn profile into a real sales tool? Join our free four day live workshop, Your LinkedIn Sales System, Tuesday, October 20 to Friday, October 23, 12:30 to 1:30 PM EDT. 91. LinkedIn Growth Is a Contact Sport: 3 Habits That Move Your Business Forward
2026/10/05
If LinkedIn feels overwhelming, you're not alone. There's a lot you could be doing, and it's easy to stay busy without seeing real business growth. In this episode, we keep it simple. Three activities, done consistently, that build your network, start more conversations, and create more opportunities for your business. Connect. Send at least 15 connection requests a day, Monday through Friday, to potential ideal clients and referral partners. Without new connections, you can't grow your visibility, your reach, or your leads. Converse. Reach out to 5 people a day. It doesn't have to be complicated. Welcome a new connection, send a birthday or work anniversary message, or thank someone for voting in your poll. Growing a business is a contact sport, and you can't wait for people to come to you. Create. Publish 3 pieces of thought leadership content a week. When someone gets your message, they check your profile to see what you're about. Your content is what gets them to reply. Whether you're doing one of these, none of them, or used to do all three and got away from it, this is your reminder to get back to it. 90. LinkedIn Algorithm Changes: Collaborative Posts, AI Slop, and Reach
2026/09/28
LinkedIn's algorithm is changing how your content gets seen. In this episode, we break down the three biggest updates coaches, consultants, and service professionals need to know right now. First, LinkedIn collaborative posts. You can now publish a post with up to five collaborators, so it shows up in their networks, not just yours. We walk through how to add collaborators on desktop and mobile, how it's different from tagging, and why you should always ask before adding someone. Second, LinkedIn's feed is getting smarter. Specific content beats broad content, relevance matters more than follower count, and talking about the same topics consistently is how you get known for them. It's old to you, but it's new to someone else. Third, AI content is getting a closer look. We explain LinkedIn's new AI slop flag, what happens if one of your posts gets flagged, and how to use AI to support your voice instead of replacing it. In this episode: How LinkedIn collaborative posts work and who to collaborate with. Why collaborating reaches more people than tagging. How LinkedIn's feed decides who sees your content. Why repeating your core message helps you grow. What the AI slop flag does, and how to keep your content human. 89. The Connection Request Note That Is Costing You Replies
2026/09/21
Stop adding notes to your LinkedIn connection requests. The advice used to be that a personalized note gets you accepted more often. That was true when almost nobody was doing it. Now the note is the fastest way to look like every other pitch sitting in someone's notifications. In this episode, we read real connection requests that landed in our inbox this month, explain why not one of them earns a reply, and cover what to do instead. Inside this episode: Why a pitch inside a connection request never worksThe three situations where a note actually makes sense, with word for word examples Why LinkedIn now limits how many personalized notes you can send The message to send the moment someone accepts, and what to never send Why the goal of a connection request is not the sale Join us for the Amateur to Expert on LinkedIn Intensive, 5 live days, September 28 through October 2, 12 to 1 PM EDT. 88. The LinkedIn Authority Formula: 3 Steps That Turn Content Into Clients
2026/09/14
Being visible on LinkedIn and being trusted on LinkedIn are two different things. Most coaches and consultants are already posting consistently. What they are not getting is the call, the referral, or the reply that turns into business. That is not a posting problem. It is an authority problem. In this episode we walk through the LinkedIn Authority Formula, three parts that work together. Give value before you ask, so your content stands completely on its own. Build a content ecosystem, so people have somewhere to go after they read you. Become known for something specific, so people can describe you when you are not in the room. The goal was never viral content. It is being known, trusted, and remembered by the right people. Ready to turn LinkedIn into a real client acquisition tool? 87. The LinkedIn Content Growth Formula: 3 Jobs Every Post Needs
2026/09/07
You posted something thoughtful on Tuesday. It took you forty minutes. Nothing happened. No comments worth answering. No profile views. No conversations. Most coaches and consultants assume that means the writing was not good enough. Usually it means the post was never given a job before it went out. In this episode, I break down the LinkedIn Content Growth Formula, the three-part approach we teach for creating content that reaches the right people instead of just filling a slot. Here is what I get into. Why every single post needs one job, and why the three options are grow your authority, build trust, or sell without selling. Most posts try all three at once and land none of them. Why specific content wins and broad content disappears. LinkedIn now ranks on meaning and intent, so vague content gives the system nothing to work with. This is also where the Triangle of Trust comes in, meaning your headline, About section, and Experience section all have to agree with what you post. Why relevance beats follower count. You do not need 10,000 followers. I went from 500 connections in 2013 to nearly 38,000 followers today, and the honest version of that story is thirteen years long. Want the full version? 86. LinkedIn's AI Slop Button: What It Means for Your Content
2026/08/31
LinkedIn quietly added a button that lets anyone report your post as AI slop, and one tap can cut your reach before you ever notice. It launched in July and lives in the three dot menu on every post and comment in the feed. No verification. No appeal process. Just a quiet drop in distribution and a private notice in your analytics dashboard. In this episode we walk through what the feature actually does, why LinkedIn built it, and how to make sure your content never trips it. What we cover: The exact location of the AI slop button and how to find itWhat happens to a post after someone reports itThe Pangram Labs study showing 41% of long form LinkedIn posts are fully AI generatedWhy LinkedIn retired its own "enhance your post" writing toolThe case for caution, because this button has no accountability built inWhen flagging content is fair and when it is simply unkindSix practical ways to keep AI out of your thinking and still use it well Our position has not changed. AI belongs in your workflow as a tool that expands your voice and shortens the work. It does not belong in the seat where your point of view should be. LinkedIn is not punishing AI use, it is punishing absent effort, and that distinction is about to separate the accounts that grow from the ones that quietly stall. 85. The 3 Missing Pieces of Your LinkedIn Profile
2026/08/24
Most LinkedIn profiles are missing three small things, and those three things are costing people visibility, reach, and business every single day. In this episode we walk through the profile sections almost everyone skips... your custom LinkedIn URL, the call to action at the end of your About section, and how to actually use your Featured section. None of these take longer than fifteen minutes. None of them require creating new content. If you are a coach, consultant, or service professional using LinkedIn to grow your business, these three fixes make you easier to find, easier to contact, and easier to follow somewhere you actually own. In this episode: Why the smallest profile details are the ones people overlook mostHow to claim a custom LinkedIn URL, and the rules LinkedIn holds you toThe two calls to action every About section should end with, and why they are not clickable on purposeWhy your calendar link does not belong in your About sectionThe mistake almost everyone makes with the Featured sectionThe lead magnet, newsletter, website setup we recommendHow to move people from LinkedIn to somewhere you actually own Free LinkedIn thought leadership assessment: Three minutes, and you get a report covering your profile, your network, your messaging, and your content, so you know exactly what to work on LinkedIn Thought Leader Scorecard | Expert Content Society Follow us on LinkedIn: Scott Aaron:   / scottaaroncoach   Nancy Evans-Aaron:   / nancyevans1   Enjoying the show? 84. Two Hundred Likes, Zero Calls
2026/08/17
A post takes off. Reactions climb, comments come in from people you admire. Then Friday arrives, your calendar is exactly as empty as the week before, and you are left wondering what all of it was for. This episode is about that gap. We start with why smart people fall into the likes trap. It is not vanity, it is timing. LinkedIn gives you feedback in an hour and revenue takes months, so everyone starts optimizing for the signal they can actually see. And underneath that, the largest group of people on LinkedIn will read your post start to finish and never click a thing, which means the reactions counter was never measuring your audience in the first place. Then we get practical. You will hear the three things that separate content built for applause from content that generates leads, why writing for one specific person beats writing for the feed, and the one closing line you can add to this week's post that gives the right reader a reason to reach out. We also walk through the three warm touch points most people leave sitting there... the commenters who actually answer you, the poll voters who just told you where they are stuck, and the new subscribers almost nobody ever messages. Plus the poll Nancy ran that had people typing "I don't even know where to start" in the comments. By the end you will have one small assignment for the week, plus the metrics worth watching and where to find them. Because engagement only counts if it moves someone toward a conversation. 83. What to Post on LinkedIn: The 4 Post Types That Fix the Blank Screen
2026/08/10
What should I post today? It's the question that stalls most coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs. And it usually isn't a creativity problem... it's a category problem. When everything is an option, nothing gets posted. So in this episode we cut LinkedIn content down to four types: Teach. Video, carousel, or text. Practical and digestible, and specific, because the algorithm rewards content that clearly serves someone.Tell. Your story or a client's. The trust comes from sharing what didn't work, not just the wins.Ask. Simple polls. Yes, no, other. Then mine the answers for your next post, newsletter, or video.Take a Stand. Your actual point of view on what's happening in your industry. We also cover where these four sit inside the deeper positioning and conversion work we teach in the Expert Content Society. 2026/08/03
Excited to share the latest episode: Get Clients on LinkedIn: The 10-Minute Headline Fix! In this episode, we dive deep into the one line on your LinkedIn profile that quietly decides whether your ideal clients stop or scroll... your headline. If you're a coach or consultant who's genuinely good at what you do but LinkedIn isn't bringing you clients, this one is for you. Here's what we cover: Why your headline is the most-seen, most-overlooked part of your whole profile The mistake almost every coach and consultant makes (listing a job title instead of a promise) A simple fill-in-the-blank formula to reposition yourself as the go-to expert Real before-and-after examples you can borrow today The 10-minute change you can make this week that starts working the moment you hit save By the end, you'll know exactly how to turn a forgettable headline into one that gets you noticed, and how consistency turns that visibility into trust, and trust into clients. 81. How to Post on LinkedIn When You're Too Busy: The Content System That Runs Itself
2026/07/27
People who post on LinkedIn just once a week grow 5.6 times faster than people who don't, and it has nothing to do with talent or free time. In this episode, we break down the exact LinkedIn content system that keeps you visible even on your busiest, most chaotic week. If you're a coach, consultant, or service provider who's brilliant at what you do but keeps going quiet on LinkedIn the second work picks up, this one is for you. We're giving away the whole system for free, no fluff and no willpower required. Here's what we get into: Why the usual advice to "just post more" always fails busy experts, and what to do instead. The real data on why consistency quietly beats talent on LinkedIn, including the numbers from Buffer's study of over two million posts and the 2025 Edelman and LinkedIn trust report. The five parts of a content system that runs itself... your pillars, your batching ritual, your prompt library, your scheduling home, and the repurposing loop. And the fifth part is the one almost nobody does, which is exactly why most people's content dies the moment they get busy. Then we walk you through building the entire thing in about 90 minutes on a single calm afternoon. By the end, you'll see that going quiet on LinkedIn was never a discipline problem. It's a system gap, and system gaps are fixable fast. Knowing the system is one thing. Actually running it week after week, especially when you're slammed, is where most people get stuck doing it alone. That's exactly what we built Expert Content Society for. Inside, you get the AI-powered prompts, templates, and community that turn everything in this episode into content you actually publish, consistently. Come build it with us at Expert Content Society If this episode made LinkedIn feel a little more doable, follow the show so you never miss one, and share it with a friend who's always "too busy to post."
80. The 15 Minute LinkedIn Routine That Books Clients (No Daily Posting)
2026/07/20
Fewer than 3% of LinkedIn members post in a given week. Most people celebrate the low competition. Here's the part that's harder to swallow... Your ideal clients are reading and never engaging. And if you measure LinkedIn by likes, you'll quit right before it starts working. In this episode, we break down a 15 minute LinkedIn routine any coach or consultant can run tomorrow morning. Three blocks, five minutes each, and not one of them involves writing a post. We walk through the full routine, comment, reply, connect, and get into the 1-9-90 rule that explains why your best clients stay silent. We cover why 42% of buyers check your profile before they'll even reply to you, and the one thing fifteen minutes a day simply cannot do for you. Fifteen minutes gets you the audience. This episode is about what to do with them. Follow the show so you don't miss what's next. Then tell us... which of the three blocks are you least likely to actually do? We already know the answer, and it's usually the one that matters most. Want the content side of this too? 79. 4 Types of LinkedIn Content Every Service Pro Needs
2026/07/13
LinkedIn content is what separates a feed full of polite likes from one that actually books calls, and in this episode we break down exactly how to fix the gap. If you are a service professional posting consistently but still hearing crickets when it comes to real clients, this one is for you. We walk through the 4 types of LinkedIn content every service professional needs in their rotation: Authority content that teaches and earns the follow Story content that makes you human and builds trust Proof content that shows you actually get results Conversation content that sparks replies and reach Then we give away the part most people miss... the simple monthly mix that turns quiet followers into paying clients, plus a copyable five-day posting plan you can start running on Monday. No more staring at the post box wondering what to say. You will walk away knowing what to post, when to post it, and why each piece moves someone closer to working with you. Ready to actually build this into your week? Join us for our free 3-day LinkedIn workshop, July 27 to 29 at 12 PM EST, where we show you how to turn posts, polls, and newsletters into clients.
