It’s THE modern Christmas classic, and our last movie of the year. It’s got great performances, laughs, and oodles of heart…it’s ELF! But is it perfect? That’s up to you, but we can tell you this: we had a ton of fun recording this episode. Did you HEAR that?? ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Did the Gomers pick this movie because they want to feel something positive about politics during November 2024? Even if it’s imagining that the president has a trombone-playing, vest wearing daughter, Micheal J Fox as an advisor, and an impossibly handsome head of hair? Yes. Yes they did. It’s The American President, and it’s a great ep! Happy voting. ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Who You Gomer Call? It’s spooky season, and we take a break from only doing movies with the word “October” in the title in October and actually do a movie with some scares. Sure it’s a sci-fi comedy, but those arms that come out of the chair and drag Sigourney Weaver across the floor, totally crumpling up that rug? Come on. Don’t be frightened, Nation, we are here to hold your hand through this one. Just don’t think about a giant marshmallow man crushing a city and you’ll be ok. ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. It’s back-to-school season, and the Gomers wanted to put a movie on trial set in High School. And honestly, what’s better than 2004’s Napoleon Dynamite? Weird, quirky, silly, and absolutely unique (until everyone copied it), it was pure joy to put this movie on trial. Gosh! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Re Mi Do Do Sol Those five tones mean something. Hopefully it’s that this movie, which is DEEP in Steven’s nostalgia, is perfect. But if not, that’s ok. It’s still an incredible musical greeting. May you always be filled with wonder! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Can you guess the three-letter word that both Gomers chose for their first piece of evidence attempting to prove to one another and you, the listener, that National Treasure is in fact Perfect? Nicolas Cage aka Benjamin Franklin Gates could, and he probably wouldn’t even have to press the E and the L twice. Enjoy this rollicking ep about this rollicking summer blockbuster, which, it turns out, didn’t come out in the summer. Oops. Happy Declaration-of-Independence-stealing! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. It’s another movie that, the more we dig into it, the more we understand why we love what we love. It’s a quirky, goofy, dark, slightly unhinged take on Anthony’s favorite superhero, and for us, it just WORKS. Come for the Batman chat, stick around for our Batmobile rankings. And please, for the love of all that is holy, never rub another man’s rhubarb. ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Know what would be weird? If we, the Two Gomers, were just paid Hollywood actors recording this podcast just for you. Because EVERYONE around you is a paid Hollywood actor in a reality TV show that you star in. Honestly, wouldn’t that be just SO WEIRD? Get ready for a lot of this kind of thing in this episode as we put one of our favorite movies, The Truman Show, on trial. ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. It’s a thing as rare as spice melange when the Gomers call their shot and put a brand new movie on the Perfect Movie main feed. But their combined love for the first one, the stellar cast, the land- and sound-scapes, and the fact that Denis Villeneuve has yet to let them down made Dune Part Two a safe bet. Did it pay off? As always, you’ll be the judge of that. And if not, hopefully Steven’s parody song mid-ep will be worth the price of admission. This is a pivot, but not that far: it’s our first Sandler, and we’ve decided to cover his second movie, a personal favorite of both Gomers. We talk 90-minute 90s comedies, the proper balance between jokes and plot, Anthony’s golden jacket epiphany, and probably too much Billy Madison since that’s what we pivoted away from. Also, Steven laughs for five minutes straight trying to explain Chubs Peterson’s long arm. The nonstop laffs in this ep are par for the course!!!!! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. We thought, after Return of the Jedi, we’d do a nice simple one with no pressure. Both of us do our best to respond to people who have asked us “Why would YOU like THAT movie?” If you don’t agree…well, I guess we could just put a horse head in your bed and see if that helps. Leave the gun, take…this great ep of Perfect Movie! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. We continue our tradition of working our way through the Star Wars movies in release order every January (HANuary), and it’s time for Episode VI. Pyrotechnics! Puppets! Metal Bikinis! Low brass hits! And we have to talk about the Ewok in the room. Return of the Jedi is Steven’s favorite – hope you enjoy this one as much as we did! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Sylvester Stallone has the perfect face for a boxing movie. But does his writing and acting elevate this 70s classic into Perfect Movie territory? It’s our final movie of 2023, and we’re going out with a bang as we put Rocky on trial. Pet stores! Sweatsuits! Boxer catalogues! Kissing! Throwing turkeys out into back alleys! One-armed pushups! This movie has it all.  Except a win, of course. Merry Christmas, and Happy Punching! ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Two regular guys discuss four little women – what’s better on a crisp fall day? It’s a Steven’s Choice, and the guys’ first foray into 19th century literature. Gentlemen calling! Leather binding! Book burning! Star-crossed loving! Writing montaging! Simultaneous timeline running! This movie is real good, and Anthony even experiences a little bit of patriotism because of it. Enjoy, and please do remember: don’t ever write your neighbor a letter professing your love for him unless you are SURE he’s not married to your sister. ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc. Rain! Autumn! Rudy vibes! Problem solving! And a space shuttle launches at the end! Any doubt why this is an Anthony’s Choice this episode? The guys discuss the star power, the emotion power, and the coal power that makes October Sky worth sending up to Khan.  ** This episode of Perfect movie was recorded and released one year ago this month on The Bonus Disc.
