On his way to Rome, Paul is under the custody of a kindly Roman centurion named Julius. While sailing, they face the test of their lives. They are so terrified that they lose hope even after throwing away their business merchandise to survive. --What happens when we give up hope--

The presence of Agrippa and Bernice arrayed in purple and Festus in red makes Paul appear insignificant in everyone's eyes. Paul's decision to share his story is a brave opportunity to spread the gospel. But his testimony makes no sense to Festus.

When you keep turning away from God, your heart becomes hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Paul, one of the most devoted disciples of the Lord, is experiencing hatred, persecution, and false accusations from his Jewish brothers. He has been exiled from Jerusalem, and as if that's not enough, they want him dead so they can stop hearing the Gospel.--Paul probably asks, -What have I done to deserve this treatment--

Even though we know the Lord is present, we are still tempted to despair. In our loneliness, we are tempted to ask, -Where is Jesus----

Paul knows what the Lord wants him to do. He knows that the path of righteousness is one of pain, prison, and suffering. But Paul is a recipient of God's sufficient grace. He knows his weakness and has learned to rely on the Lord's strength. Even though the Will of God is leading him to a place of pain and intense suffering, his conviction assures him that God's grace will sustain him.
