As former President of Democrats for Life of America and a candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. President in 2024, Terrisa is now putting her hat in the ring against U.S. House member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She's on the show today and is one of our speakers for the 2026 Alaska March for Life taking place in Anchorage on Saturday, April 25th. Campbell STEM, Alaska's first school specifically focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, and one of the top performing schools in the Anchorage School District has been scheduled to be shut down. Chaplain James Duncan, better known as just JD, is a remarkably impactful Alaskan. Raised in Juneau, JD is a former pastor now serving as the Statewide Chaplaincy Coordinator for the Alaska Department of Corrections. Although I haven't yet started visiting the prisons, I took the class he leads to train those who want to serve those who are incarcerated. It is intense and eye opening and very necessary. Kevin McCabe is a Representative in the Alaska House serving Big Lake and surrounding areas. He wrote an article recently in the Alaska Watchman about the Black Robed Regiment...those pastors during the founding of our nation whose words laid the foundations of our Declaration of Independence and ultimately who took of the clerical robes and carried muskets into battle.  Excited to chew on this with a man who understands his place in history. Many Alaskans are unaware of how public education unfolded in the history of the Great Land. Russian influences and a man named Sheldon Jackson created an environment that eventually led to a clause in our State Constitution intended to stop forced religious assimilation and unequal treatment of students. As you can read here, there was indeed justification for such language.  Today however, in an ironic turn of events, the forced assimilation is still occurring but in a way the founders of our state likely could not have seen or understood. For more than 20 years, Lisa worked as a Democrat lobbyist and operative in Washington, D.C. She even cried on the night Donald Trump was elected in 2016. We'll discuss the events that opened her eyes to what she now describes as the "progressive cult." Lisa escaped, and now she is showing the way for other liberals. When one of the most liberal countries in the world bans puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and surgical mutilation of minors, you have to wonder when states like Alaska will join the mix. Bob McCoskrie, founder of Family First, the equivalent of a nationwide Alaska Family Council in New Zealand, is on the show today to discuss how that just happened and how the Kiwis are doing battle in other areas for life, family and culture.
