Dr. Michelle May is a former family physician, recovered yo-yo dieter, founder of Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating Programs and Training, and author of the Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat book series that teaches mindful eating to resolve mindless and emotional eating and senseless yo-yo dieting.  She has trained over 800 health professionals to offer mindful eating programs. She is an Associate Professor at Arizona State University and taught a masterclass on mindful eating for the Calm App.  Dr. May is the co-author of an article reviewing the scientific evidence for why healthcare should shift to a weight-neutral approach that presents the evidence and framework for weight‐inclusive patient care practices. During our conversation, she discusses what it means to have a non-diet, weight-inclusive, and mindfulness-based approach to health and wellness. She talks about eating from the inside out by paying attention to hunger, fullness, and feedback from our bodies. #56 Health coach and weightlifting champion Kim Rahir talks about how strength training has helped her through her MS diagnosis

Kim Rahir had a full-time job, kids, and a beautiful home when she started seeing double and realized something was wrong. At only 45, she ended up paralyzed and spending six weeks in the hospital. It took her six months to be able to walk again, and that was only the beginning. A year later, as she continued to have symptoms, she was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis (MS). She talks about how she tried to regain her strength and started weightlifting. In 2014, Kristelle took the leap to start Siarza Digital, a full-service marketing agency. She prides herself in having a strong team that is diverse in background, thought, and culture. In 2020 she was convinced her business would not survive, but received assistance to help her continue on. However, during this time, she noticed that the API community was not receiving the same type of funding, resources, and support. In six months, she started a nonprofit, The Asian Business Collaborative, that helped the API community access PPE in addition to business resources and financial assistance. Kristelle talks about the importance of DEI, educating ourselves, representation, and feeling comfortable in spaces.
