Jets Lose ToPats 26-19!
2026/10/18
In a sloppy, injury-riddled battle at Foxborough, the New England Patriots (4-2) held on for a 26-19 victory over the New York Jets (2-4), extending their home divisional dominance despite losing three starting offensive linemen—Morgan Moses, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and Ben Brown—along with receiver Romeo Doubs to in-game injuries. Drake Maye spearheaded New England’s attack with 235 passing yards and three touchdown strikes to Doubs, DeMario Douglas, and Hunter Henry, while A.J. Brown returned from injured reserve to post three catches for 27 yards alongside three drops on 10 targets. The Jets trimmed an early 17-3 halftime deficit behind Geno Smith’s 42-yard touchdown pass to Omar Cooper Jr. (6 rec, 103 yds in his return from IR) and a Jason Sanders 36-yard field goal following a Jamien Sherwood fumble recovery, but New York’s late rally fell short as Smith went 20-of-30 for 252 yards, saw his 165-pass interception-free streak end on a 4th-quarter pick by Charles Woods, and coach Aaron Glenn’s squad finished a dismal 0-for-3 in the red zone and 3-of-10 on third down. Jets Underground: Pre-Snap Sunday
2026/10/18
The Jets head up to Foxborough this Sunday to clash with our perennial AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots, in a high-stakes divisional showdown that could easily define the direction of our season. These games always carry extra weight in our household given my wife’s New England roots and her family’s loyalties, making a victory all the sweeter and a potential loss that much harder to swallow. A win on the road wouldn’t just pad the standings; it could serve as a genuine turning point for the franchise, whereas a flat performance risks dragging us right back into the exhausting cycle of the “Same Old Jets.” There is certainly an opening for Gang Green if we can crack New England’s defense and keep the pressure high, though skeptics are quick to point out we haven’t faced any heavyweights yet—as my podcast co-host Ralph aptly noted regarding the Browns, who looked like the shakiest 3–1 team imaginable heading into MetLife. Still, a divisional road win is gold in this league. While the Patriots have shown flashes of vulnerability, they’ve started finding a rhythm behind young quarterback Drake Maye over the last couple of weeks. Walking into Gillette Stadium is never easy, but if the Jets stay disciplined and dictate the tempo, a statement upset is entirely within reach. This is a public episode. Jets Two-Minute Tuesday
2026/10/13
While both safeties bring high-end playmaking abilities to the secondary, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Andre Cisco deploy distinctly different styles on the field. Fitzpatrick operates as a cerebral, chess-piece "free safety" communicator whose elite diagnostic skills, fluid positional versatility (capable of starring as a single-high eraser, nickel corner, or box defender), and disciplined field vision allow him to consistently jump route concepts and erase deep coverage breakdowns before they happen. Cisco, by contrast, plays with an aggressive, ball-hawking, physical dynamic—thriving as an instinctual center fielder who relies on raw range, explosive downhill trigger speed, and high-risk/high-reward jump timing to create turnover chaos and deliver bone-crushing hits in the open field. While Fitzpatrick excels through disciplined pre-snap alignment and surgical anticipation, Cisco impacts the game through high-octane aggression and dynamic range. Covering the Jets 23-12 loss to the Bears!
2026/10/04
In a frustrating 23–12 road loss to the Chicago Bears, the Jets (1–3) struggled to find any offensive traction, holding the ball for under 18 minutes and managing just seven first downs and 157 total yards. Bears running back Kyle Monangai gashed Gang Green for 146 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while backup quarterback Tyson Bagent threw for 268 yards to keep New York’s defense on the field for over 42 minutes. The lone defensive highlight arrived in the second quarter when safety Minkah Fitzpatrick snapped the Jets' NFL-record 20-game interception drought by picking off Bagent—though penalties painfully negated three additional New York interceptions throughout the game. Geno Smith provided a brief fourth-quarter spark with a 58-yard touchdown bomb to Isaiah Williams to make it 23–12, but a missed extra point by Jason Sanders followed by a backbreaking, clock-bleeding 18-play, 77-yard drive by Chicago sealed the Jets' third consecutive defeat.
