Down on the Slopside: How AI is Poisoning the Legacy of Grunge
2026/09/06
#137: "KIM THAYILL - The creative journey of a guitare legend who redefined alternative rock" might seem like a legitimate book to those who don't recognize typos or the image of "Kim" that looks nothing like him. The cover art of this fake slop also shows that one of "Kim's" hands has a pinkie finger so small it looks like a birth defect. His thumb looks bent at a ninety degree angle. Not optimal anatomy for one of rock's great guitarists. Predatory, parasitic Amazon Inc. will do anything if it makes even one penny and that is why hideous offensive fake garbage like this is allowed on their platform.
Over a Barrel: Seattle's Toxic Sanft Family
2026/05/26
#136: Louie Sanft's Seattle Barrel Company has a long history of environmental violations. In 2019 they were busted for a ten year scheme that illegally diverted caustic waste into Seattle's sewer system using a hidden drain. After a jury trial in Federal court, Sanft and Seattle Barrel were convicted of conspiracy, 33 counts of violating the Clean Water Act, and making false statements. Seattle Barrel is still a going concern, and the Sanft family is still very rich.
Notorious Seattle Junkies: Ginny Burton
2026/04/26
#135: Ginny Burton's mother gave her marijuana when she was 7 and soon after she was abusing meth and crack. After a lifetime of addiction and incarceration Ginny got clean, got a degree and is now a darling of right wing media. Like unsavory local characters Kevin Dahlgren and Andrea Suarez, Ginny Burton creates online engagement by filming homeless people during their lowest moments. Ginny's associate and fellow ex-con Alex Peder runs Corrio, a player in the exploitative for-profit prison telecommunications industry. Ginny's kooky pro-cop story of recovery and its "pull yourself up by your bootstraps and say no to methadone" narrative is eaten up like candy by right wing media outlets like unDivided with Brandi Kruse, Sinclair Broadcasting's KOMO and Fox News.
100 Seattle Psychopaths
2026/04/19
#131: A dredge through the Puget Sound Business Journal's "Seattle's Power 100." Former real estate mogul Martin Selig (he developed Columbia Center - Seattle's tallest building, and once owned much of Belltown's commercial office space) is off the list. Also no longer on the list is Jeff Bezos, who f*cked off to Miami (party on, bro!).
Bald King of Rock Star Podcasts Billy Corgan
2026/04/09
#134: PODCAST SHOUTOUT: 90s Alt-Rock superstar Billy Corgan has a new podcast called The Magnificent Others. Billy has pulled an impressive list of A and Z-list guests from the creative asylum known as the music industry to come on his show, including Nancy Wilson of Heart, guitar shred-god Steve Vai and wealthy widow Courtney Love.
Not Dead: Survivors of Seattle's Music Scene
2026/04/04
#133: Daniel House's new podcast, The Creative Asylum, has an impressive lineup of guests from the glory days of the Seattle music scene. House was in 80s grunge band Skin Yard and went on to run C/Z Records. The bands that claim that C/Z shortchanged them on royalties have yet to be interviewed for his pod, but an outstanding lineup of magnificent others have appeared to dish some dirt, including documentary filmmaker Doug Pray, grunge historian Adam Tepedelen, alleged sex pest Ken Stringfellow and original Nirvana drummer Chad Channing.
Horsey Sex - A Seattle Cartoonist's Bestial Erotic Novel
2026/04/02
#132: Seattle editorial cartoonist David Horsey's baby boomer centrism has long been the subject of ridicule. He's published a novel, which makes him fair game for podcasts that review ridiculous books.
Seattle's Racist Salmon Gutting Machine
2025/11/15
#130: The Iron Chink revolutionized the salmon canning industry. It increased cannery profits by throwing thousands of hard working Asian immigrants out of work. The machine made inventor Edmund A. Smith rich. Smith would not live to enjoy his wealth. He perished in a fiery car accident while on his way to the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition.
Communist Teen Ain't a Teen No More
2025/10/30
Communist Teen (you may remember them from episode #56) is back! And they ain't no teen no more, but they are still Communist to the bone. Join us as we discuss classics of modern cinema like Return of the Living Dead, Flushed Away and Elmo in Grouchland. We also go down the rabbit hole to explore unknown underground gems like the story of Seattle cults Doomed Planet (2000) and the anti-surveillance epic Hell Hole High (2003). Want hope for the future of humanity? Know that every elderly conservative that dies is more than likely gonna be replaced by someone like Communist Teen.
Halloween Hootennany 2025
2025/10/26
A frightening, prurient peek into some books that will scare the hell out of you. The Darkening Age - The Christian Destruction of the Classical World reveals that intolerance, cruelty, vandalism and tax evasion have been a foundation of the Christianity cult since the beginning. Dancing with Death - The True Story of a Glamorous Showgirl, Her Wealthy Husband, and a Horrifying Murder is the typical tale of a mentally ill stripper who got greedy and careless. In No Regrets KISS guitarist Ace Frehley (April 27, 1951 - October 16, 2025) dishes out one rock star cliche after another. The women. The booze. The never reading any books or contributing to society in any meaningful way. The horrible music that made him and numerous others rich as kings. Lame! The scariest horror story of all comes from Independent - A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines, the new book from Genocide Joe's press secretary and certified satanic Halloween ghoul Karine Jean-Pierre.
The Summer of Death 2025
2025/09/20
OBITUARIES FOR THE DAMNED #127: A recap of who died this Summer from Doomed Planet Podcast host Alex R. Mayer. The beloved entertainer Ozzy Osbourne had a glorious sendout, as did media personality Charlie Kirk. Countless victims of America's support for war and genocide also perished, obviously.
The Bezos Sanchez Wedding Catastrophe
2025/05/29
#126: As the USA begins bombing Iran billionaire Jeff Bezos is set to marry his surgically enhanced girlfriend Lauren Sanchez in a ceremony featuring helicopters, yachts, celebrities and mounds of pure uncut Peruvian cocaine. What could go wrong? One scenario: Jeff is beheaded by a helicopter blade and when Lauren tries to reach for him she accidentally knocks his head into the ocean, where it is devoured by sharks.
Fake Feminist Melinda French Gates
2025/04/30
#125: In her new book, billionaire heiress Melinda Gates tries to present herself as a good human being with an interesting life and the same challenges normal people face. The Next Day: Transitions, Change and Moving Forward is a banal self-indulgent brag rag crammed with cliches and soured by boring, bad writing. It betrays a profound lack of self awareness. Being a billionaire is not a feminist concept - especially if you are known to fight capital gains taxes that would directly benefit working mothers.   Sponsored by Chop Mart - America's Guillotine Superstore!
Off With Their Heads: The Forbes 2025 Billionaires List
2025/04/19
#124: Proud to announce that the Doomed Planet podcast has a new sponsor: Chop Mart! Earth burns while  Billionaires earn We're living in tents F**k the government Society's deranged Time for radical change Sharpen the blades We're going to Hades It's guillotine time! Get in line! The Serial Killer who Murdered Ivar Haglund's Mom
2025/03/28
"Sadistic and greedy quack" Dr. Linda Burfield Hazzard starved people to death at her makeshift sanatorium, called "Starvation Heights" by the locals. Hazzard's nonsensical, dangerously misguided book Fasting for the Cure of Disease (1908) was a best seller. Among her victims was Daisey Maud Haglund, the mother of Seattle restaurateur and king of publicity stunts Ivar Haglund.
