What Should Church Look Like? - 11/1/26
2026/11/02
We close out our series in Philippians with the most practical chapter of the whole letter, the one that gets into the stuff you deal with every day: the coworker you can’t stand, the worries that keep you up at night, the bank account, and the friends and neighbors you care about.
In this message, you’ll walk away with:
A better way to handle conflict, whether it’s yours or a friend’sReal help for the days when anxiety feels louder than anything elseA fresh take on one of the most quoted (and most misused) verses in the BibleA new way of thinking about money that has nothing to do with how much you haveA simple, doable way to care for the people in your life who don’t know Jesus yetIf you’ve ever wondered what following Jesus actually looks like on a regular Tuesday, this one’s for you.
Send over the title if you’d like it added.
Do We Really Pursue Jesus or Does He Pursue Us? - 10/25/26
2026/10/26
Most of us know what we believe. The harder part is whether our everyday lives actually show it: how we spend our evenings, where we turn when we’re stressed, what we get most excited about for our kids.
In this message, you’ll walk away with:
An honest way to check whether your daily habits match what you say matters mostFreedom from the pressure to have it all figured out before you can growA fresh look at what might be quietly pulling you off courseEncouragement that your ordinary, faithful choices matter more than you realizeThis message is for those who have felt like their faith and their Monday-through-Saturday life don't line up.
Rewriting Our Stories - 10/18/2026
2026/10/19
Most of us are chasing something we think will finally make life feel complete: the next promotion, a healthier body, a little more in savings, a family that looks like it has it all together. And most of us have had that moment of getting what we wanted and still feeling restless.
This week, Pastor Jack looks at how Paul’s own story got rewritten, and what that looks like for the rest of us.
In this message, you’ll walk away with:
A way to spot what you’re really leaning on for your sense of worthRelief from the nagging feeling that you’re never doing enough for GodAn honest look at how the comforts we reach for at the end of a long day can keep us from what we actually wantHope that your mistakes don’t have to define the rest of your storyWhether life feels like it’s working right now or falling apart, this one will meet you where you are.
Do We Have a Role in Our Own Salvation? - 10/11/2026
2026/10/12
Some Bible verses are dangerous. Handle them the wrong way, and they can quietly undermine your confidence in God’s love for you.
This week, Pastor Wyatt takes on one of those verses, a line from Paul that has left plenty of Christians wondering whether they’ve done enough to stay in God’s good graces.
In this message, you’ll walk away with:
A fuller picture of what salvation actually is, and why the version many of us grew up with might be too smallReal security in your relationship with God, especially if you’ve ever worried he’s keeping scoreA clearer sense of what your part in following Jesus is, and what it isn’tIf you’ve ever felt like you’re never quite good enough for God, or wondered why growing in faith takes so much effort, this one’s for you.
Is Jesus humble or exalted? - 10/04/2026
2026/10/05
At a dinner party in Luke 14, Jesus says that everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted. It's a paradox at the heart of the gospel, and in Philippians 2, Paul shows how it plays out in the life of Jesus himself.
In this message, Pastor Wyatt walks through how Christ modeled humility and three everyday choices we can make to build that same humility.
If you've only ever heard "be humble" without hearing why, this message gives you the rest of the story.
Unity Through Humility - 9/27/2026
2026/09/30
Unity Through Humility | Philippians 2:1-4 | Jack Doney
Every parent wants their kids to get along. Paul felt the same way about the church in Philippi. They were doing so much right, but they weren't getting along with each other, and it was keeping his joy from being complete.
In this message, Pastor Jack makes the case that being part of God's story means being part of God's family. He walks through what that looks like:
Unite around what matters most: the mind, love, Spirit, and mission of ChristResist what can tear us apart from the inside, including a simple test for telling selfish ambition from godly ambitionHonor others above yourself, because the only path to unity runs through humilityIf there's a relationship in your life that needs reconciling, this message will give you the push to take the first step.
What Does “To Live Is Christ” Mean? - 9/20/2026
2026/09/21
What Does "To Live Is Christ" Mean? | Philippians 1:21-30 | Wyatt Martin
If you won $50 million tomorrow, what would you do with your life? That question gets at what we really believe will make life fulfilling.
Paul answers it from the opposite position: arrested, a thousand miles from home, his life's work on hold, possibly facing execution. And he says he hasn't lost his purpose at all. "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
In this message, Pastor Wyatt unpacks:
The Greek wordplay behind Paul's famous line, and how it pushes back on the Roman motto "life is good"What Paul does and doesn't mean by "to die is gain"What it means to live as citizens of heaven, marked by unity, confidence, and purposeHow suffering can be called a gift, and why that's hard to believe
Not the Plan, Still the Story - 9/13/2026
2026/09/14
Week two in Philippians, and Paul is writing from house arrest. Chained to a rotating shift of Roman guards, awaiting a trial that could end in execution. Paul's perspective was, "What happened to me actually advanced the gospel."
This message is a deeper conversation about setbacks and suffering, and how seeing your life as part of Jesus' story can change the way you carry them.
Pastor Wyatt walks through:
God uses circumstances you wouldn't chooseGod uses people you wouldn't choose — including the leaders preaching Christ out of envy and rivalry, and Paul's surprising response to themYou don't get to choose what God allows or who He uses, but you do get to choose your perspectiveTrade the unanswerable questions we ask in suffering for better ones.
Philippians Series Launch - 9/6/2026
2026/09/08
We kick off a new series in Philippians — a letter Paul wrote from prison, chained to a Roman guard, awaiting a trial that could cost him his life. And he can't stop talking about joy.
The big idea: everything changes when your story becomes part of Jesus' story.
Pastor Wyatt walks through four ways that shift plays out:
Your story gets smallerYour joy grows deeperYour future becomes certainYou become whole — who you were actually made to beAlong the way you'll get some helpful background on Philippi, a city obsessed with status, and why Paul introduces himself not as an apostle but as a servant.
If you're chasing joy in the places our culture says to find it, or carrying fear about what's ahead, this one's for you.

Vision Sunday - 8/23/2026
2026/08/24
On Vision Sunday, Lead Pastor Wyatt Martin turns to John 4 and the story of the woman at the well — where Jesus is transforming a life right in front of his disciples, and all they can think about is lunch.
It's an easy trap to fall into. The here and now is loud, and the bigger story God is writing around us is easy to miss.
In this message, you'll be challenged to answer two questions:
Who has God sent you to? (And will you pray for, invest in, and invite them?)How can you help make Alderwood a community that reflects Jesus? If you've ever felt like church is something you attend rather than a family you belong to, this one is worth your time.
