2026/10/21
I don't know about you, but I have a hard time lyjng to my mother. Not saying that I never have in my lifetime, but now it is becoming a necessity to do so, and I am not comfortable with it! Some calls it " therapeutic lies", but I got to find a way to do it and mot feel guilty afterwards.
S2, Ep 30: Still...
2026/10/09
It's one thing to eat leftovers, and the things with leftovers, you eat them for a few days, freeze them or throw them out. But with Dementia and sundowning, you have no control as to how often you will hear the same thing over and over and day after day. #Dementiasucks
S2, Ep 29: On Repeat...
2026/10/01
To live life, going through the same thing everyday is crazy. So you make changes to solve that issue. Unfortunately, you cannot do that with someone who has dementia, and living in their world as they know it, is exhausting.
S2, Ep 28: I made a mistake...
2026/09/23
As caregivers we will make mistakes along the way, but we learn to correct and do our best to not make it again. This is more important when caring for a person with Dementia. You can feel trap at times and believe you can trust everything will be alright, until it's not...
S2, Ep 27: Good Days...
2026/09/16
I am so glad to be having better days with mom. Yes, there is still sundowning, but at least I can handle them much better. We also had a few days wo no sundowning!! But I know it won't be like this forever, but it gives me a chance to learn to rein in my emotions when the heavy ones happens.
S2 Ep 26: Four o'clock in the morning

S2, Ep 25: Sleep, Sleep and more Sleep
2026/09/04
If you know about caring for some with Dementia, sleep, good quality sleep is hard to come by. I am bless to be able get an average of 6.5 hours of sleep. Recently I was able to get 8.75 hours of sleep one night. Only problem was that night, it took forever to go the sleep. 😅
S2, Ep 24: Same Old Song...
2026/08/27
A normal person would get tired repeating the same thing over and over again, so we change things. Not the case with those who has dementia, for they don't realize or remember the things they say and do everyday.
S2, Ep 23: The Long Weekend...
2026/08/15
What can I say, each day is like a box of chocolate and yes, you don't know what is going to happen! Just maybe if each day was really the same, maybe the caregiver wouldn't be so tired, do stressed...
S2, Ep 22: Same Old Song...
2026/08/11
The same thing, over and over again!! Yes, I am tired of it! However, I can't leave and I got to find ways of dealing with it too. #Dementiasucks

I pray for every caregiver that is going through this journey with a love one who has dementia! This disease will break you, but you have to find ways to keep going and protect your mental health.

2026/07/27
With Dementia , I was hoping some behavior would change, but not the case, in fact it has intensified!! Her one behavior I thought would change is, not sleeping the night before an appointment. Not good! 😔
S2, Ep 19: Fresh Air...
2026/07/22
I knew fresh air is good for those with Dementia, as well as exercise. However, it can be hard to get a 94 year old with Dementia to do somethings. This weekend, I manage to get my mother to sit with me on our front porch. To my surprised, we enjoyed the fresh air for 5 hours!!! Sundowning was almost non existent and she went to bed with no problem. Got to get more of that fresh air!
