On the Doctrine Matters Podcast, I talk about primary, secondary, and tertiary doctrines found in Scripture in an easy to understand format. I also spend time discussing current events going on in the world from a Biblical perspective. This podcast will help not only the deep thinker in theology, but it will help the layperson in any Church understand some of the more difficult things we find in the Scriptures. The podcast was formed to run everything both Biblical and current events in our world through a Biblical lens to give God glory, exalt Christ, and encourage one another.

Should Steven Lawson Be Writing Books After His Fall? A Response
2026/09/26
Steve Lawson is back in the spotlight after writing a book following the revelation of his years-long adulterous affair. That raises some serious questions for Christians: Can a pastor who has fallen into serious sexual sin ever teach publicly again? Does biblical forgiveness mean restoration to ministry? Is a disqualified pastor still allowed to write Christian books? And if he does write one, should he be making money from it? In this video, I want to move past outrage, emotions, and internet reactions and actually look at what Scripture says. There is a major difference between forgiveness, restoration to Christian fellowship, qualification for pastoral ministry, and having a public teaching platform. Those categories often get mixed together. We’ll look at passages like 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, James 3, Galatians 6, 1 Corinthians 5, and 2 Corinthians 2 and ask one simple question: What does the Bible actually require? You may believe Steve Lawson should never pastor again and still believe that the grace of Christ truly restores repentant sinners. The bigger question is this: What exactly does biblical restoration restore a fallen pastor to? Let me know where you land in the comments. #SteveLawson #Christianity #ReformedTheology #ReformedBaptist #BiblicalTruth #PastoralMinistry #ChurchDiscipline #Repentance #Forgiveness #ChristianYouTube #Theology #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast
The Doctrine Most Christians Say They Believe, Until........
2026/05/04
In a world filled with chaos, uncertainty, and constant change, one truth remains unshaken: God is absolutely sovereign. In this powerful episode of Doctrine Matters, we take a deep, Scripture driven dive into the sovereignty of God and what it means for your life right now. This is not shallow theology or feel good talk. This is a bold, biblical look at the God who rules over all things with perfect authority, wisdom, and purpose. If you have ever wrestled with questions about suffering, control, fear, or the direction of your life, this episode will ground you in truth and call you to trust the One who never fails. This episode will strengthen your faith, deepen your understanding of God, and remind you that you are not at the mercy of chance. You are under the care of a sovereign King. Theo Van And A New Story
2026/05/01
What happens when someone who’s built their life on humor finally gets honest about where they really are? In this video, we take a look at a powerful moment from Theo Von this past weekend, where he opens up in a raw and vulnerable way and says he’s ready for a new story. This isn’t just another clip — it’s a window into something deeper that a lot of people feel but don’t always say out loud. We break down: What Theo really meant by wanting a “new story” Why so many people feel stuck in the same cycles The deeper spiritual reality behind transformation and change What it actually looks like to start over in a meaningful way If you’ve ever felt like you’re stuck in patterns you can’t shake… or like your life needs a reset… this conversation is for you. There is a new story available — but it doesn’t come from just trying harder. 👉 Make sure to like, subscribe, and share if this hits home. #TheoVon #Faith #Transformation #NewBeginnings #ChristianPerspective
The God Who Depends On No One
2026/04/27
“Most people—even Christians—live like God needs something from them. Like He’s waiting on their obedience, their worship, their effort… to somehow complete Him. But the Bible presents a God who needs absolutely nothing. A God who is not served by human hands… because He Himself gives life and breath and everything. That doctrine is called aseity. And if you don’t understand it—you will build your entire Christian life on a man-centered foundation.” #doctrine #bible #music
Special Revelation Changes Everything!
2026/04/20
Creation speaks but it does not save In this episode of Doctrine Matters we move from general revelation to special revelation and look at how God has spoken clearly specifically and savingly through His Word We answer What is special revelation Why creation is not enough to save How God speaks through Scripture Why Jesus Christ is the ultimate revelation of God Why rejecting Scripture is rejecting God Himself If you want to know God not just know about Him this episode is for you #christian #study #bible
How To Think About The Wicked FedEx Driver
2026/04/19
In this video, we talk about the heartbreaking and evil case of the FedEx driver who kidnapped and murdered a 7-year-old girl—and how Christians are called to think about something this dark. This kind of tragedy stirs up anger, grief, and a desire for justice—and rightly so. Scripture is clear that God is not indifferent to evil. His wrath is real, and His justice is perfect. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men…” — Romans 1:18 (ESV) But at the same time, the gospel forces us to wrestle with something uncomfortable: even the worst sinners are not beyond the reach of God’s grace. Should we pray for justice? Absolutely. Should we long for evil to be judged? Yes. But should we also pray for repentance and salvation—even for someone like this? Scripture says yes. This video walks through how to hold both truths: God’s righteous wrath and God’s astonishing mercy. If you’ve ever struggled to understand how to respond to evil in a biblical way, this conversation matters. #fedex #kidnapping #texas
Does God Reveal Himself Outside of the Bible?
2026/04/13
Can someone know God without ever opening a Bible What does creation actually reveal about Him and what does it not In this episode we break down the doctrine of general revelation how God makes Himself known through creation conscience and the world around us But here is the tension If creation reveals God why do people still reject Him We answer that question straight from Scripture and show why general revelation is enough to condemn but not enough to save #DoctrineMatters#GeneralRevelation#TheologyMatters#BiblicalTruth#ChristianPodcast#ReformedTheology#SolaScriptura#KnowGod#Romans1#Apologetics#BibleTeaching#ChristianLiving#FaithAndTruth#GospelTruth#ChristianContent
You Can Understand the Bible!!
2026/04/06
Most Christians think the Bible is confusing, mysterious, or only for scholars, but that’s not what Scripture teaches. In this episode, we tackle a foundational truth: God gave His Word to be understood. We break down: - Why every believer can understand Scripture - The danger of twisting the Bible to fit our ideas - How Scripture interprets Scripture - The role of the Holy Spirit in understanding - How to rightly handle the Word of truth #christianteaching #bible #doctrine
Paula White Compares Trump to Jesus!!
2026/04/03
At a recent Easter event, pastor Paula White made headlines for comparing Donald Trump to Jesus drawing parallels between Trump’s legal struggles and Christ’s suffering, even connecting it to the resurrection. That raises a serious question: Have we blurred the line between Christ and culture? In this episode, we break it down biblically: Why comparing any political leader to Jesus is dangerous The uniqueness of Christ’s suffering and resurrection How modern Christianity can drift into idolatry What Scripture actually says about leaders, authority, and worship This isn’t about politics, it’s about protecting the glory of Christ. #trump #politics #faith #idol #false #truthmatters
If God Has Spoken Why Aren't We Listening: Revelation and the Bible
2026/03/30
What if everything you believe about God is only possible because God chose to reveal Himself? In this episode of *Doctrine Matters*, we tackle one of the most foundational truths of Christianity: the Bible is the very Word of God. Not just inspired ideas. Not helpful guidance. But God speaking. If that’s true… then everything changes. We’ll walk through Scripture itself to answer: - Why we can trust the Bible - What it means that Scripture is “God-breathed” - How the Bible is both fully human and fully divine - Why ignoring Scripture is ultimately rejecting God Himself This isn’t just theology—it’s authority, obedience, and life. #christianity #christian #bible

Dead in Sin Alive in Christ
2026/01/13
Ephesians 2 explains the gospel clearly: we are dead in sin, but God makes us alive in Christ. In this episode, we break down what “dead in sin” really means, why salvation is by grace alone, and how believers can live out the good works God prepared for us. #Ephesians2#DeadInSinAliveInChrist#BibleTeaching#ReformedTheology#GraceAlone#SalvationByGrace#DoctrineMatters#ChristianPodcast#BibleStudy#GospelTruth#ChristianDoctrine#ExpositoryTeaching#ButGod
Is Annihilationism Biblical?
2026/01/05
In this episode, we give a biblical response to Kirk Cameron’s defense of annihilationism (conditional immortality) the view that the wicked are destroyed and cease to exist rather than experiencing eternal conscious punishment. This is not a personal attack. Kirk Cameron seeks to defend God’s goodness, but sincerity does not determine truth, Scripture does. The real question is not what feels more loving, but what Jesus and the apostles actually taught about hell. We examine key passages such as Matthew 25:46, Matthew 10:28, and Revelation 14:11; 20:10 (NASB 95) to show why “destroy” (apollymi) does not mean annihilation and why Scripture teaches conscious, ongoing, eternal punishment. We also address church history, the seriousness of sin, and why annihilationism ultimately weakens the gospel and diminishes the cross. Key takeaway: We don’t need to rescue God from His Word. He has already spoken. Faithfulness to Scripture—not emotion or cultural pressure—must shape our doctrine. If you care about biblical theology, hell, judgment, and historic Christianity, this episode is for you. #KirkCameron #Annihilationism #Hell #ConditionalImmortality #EternalPunishment #DoctrineMatters #ReformedTheology #BiblicalTheology #ChristianPodcast #Gospel #NASB95 #EternalConsciousPunishment #ChurchHistory #ChristianTeaching
What is the Gospel? A Biblical Explanation
2025/12/30
What does the Bible actually mean when it speaks of the gospel? In this video, we clearly and simply explain the gospel of Jesus Christ as it is revealed in Scripture—not according to culture, tradition, or personal opinion, but according to God’s Word. The gospel is not self-help. It is not moral improvement. It is good news—that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this teaching, we walk through the core truths of the gospel: who God is, what sin is, who Christ is, what Christ accomplished, and how sinners are called to respond in repentance and faith. This video is especially for: Those who are unsure what the gospel truly is Christians who want a clearer, more biblical understanding Anyone wrestling with assurance, salvation, or nominal Christianity This teaching is rooted in historic, Reformed Christianity, committed to the authority of Scripture, and centered on the glory of God and the grace found in Christ alone. In this video, we address: What the gospel is—and what it is not Why the gospel is necessary The role of repentance and faith Why the gospel is good news for sinners Subscribe for clear biblical teaching, sound doctrine, and Christ-centered theology. Like, comment, and share to help others hear the true gospel. #WhatIsTheGospel#TheGospel#GospelOfJesusChrist#BiblicalGospel#SalvationByGrace#RepentanceAndFaith
Lane Kiffin & Pastors on the Move: Chasing Platforms or Faithfulness?
2025/12/09
Pastors changing churches for bigger platforms, bigger buildings, and bigger paychecks is becoming far too normal. In this episode, I use the recent coaching move of Lane Kiffin to LSU as a picture of what’s happening inside the church world today. Just like coaches jump for better opportunities, many pastors use smaller congregations as a stepping stone to get to “something bigger.” But is this faithful to the calling of Christ? Is ministry meant to be a career ladder? In this video, we discuss: The parallels between Lane Kiffin’s move and pastoral ambition Why a pastor’s calling is fundamentally different from a coach’s career The danger of platform-driven ministry What Scripture actually says about shepherding God’s people How churches can guard against treating the pastorate like a business If you care about the health of Christ’s church, the integrity of pastoral ministry, and the importance of biblical shepherding, this episode is for you. #lanekiffin #pastoralministry #leadership
