Here it is — an early morning love letter to Jamaican music, one of the enduring loves of my life. Best listened to with the woofer's woofin' 🔊 At times I serenaded you with soulful reggae; at times, I shelled you with basslines — all straight from my tender heart to yours. Massive thanks to the Akisq’nuk First Nation, the Wicked Woods crew, and ever-expanding gratitude to Indigogh (Jackson), who mastered a track the night before I left for the Woods of Whimsy — so I could bathe the forest creatures in proper root chakra frequencies. Check out @Indigogh — an insanely talented, grounded, and humble homie based in Vancouver, with some enchanting-as-f**k projects in the pipeline. Please listen, dance, and share my set from Wicked Woods 2025! I played from 6–7am on Saturday night (or Sunday morning for you normies) in the Unicorn Lounge. Big love to @M3RF for inviting me and trusting me with this sunrise slot. He told me he'd listened to all of my mixes (high praise!) and especially loved a Jamaican dub mix I put out in 2022 (Gettin’ Irie in the Eddy). He asked for morning dubs for the people — and I felt well-equipped for the assignment. King Tubby’s dub legacy lives on — and on — and on… Tracklist - Thank you to all of these artists for your beautiful sounds! Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes - Paul Simon [Warner Bros. A highlight of the evening was when someone pulled out a phone to make a request, and Louie got on the mic to SHUT IT DOWN! If you have a chance to come to one of these parties, don’t sleep on buying tickets, they sell out ‘INSTANTLY’. Hope you enjoy the mix and see you next time Revelstoke! I love you! It's such a treat to work with kind, grateful, and creative people. I'm lucky to be surrounded by them! Cover image: Dalton lookin' fly... DJing is one of those things in my life where I find myself comparing myself to others, and often feeling like I fall short. It’s easy to get lost in comparisons and caught up in opinions. Then bom bom (bom bom dillim)… a series of beautiful people remind me that my light shines bright, and they celebrate when it burns instead of trying to extinguish it. Thank you so much for everyone that has supported and believed in me, you have no idea what a difference you make. Thank you for showing up, dancing, expressing gratitude, providing connections, and being present. Thank you to everyone who put my name out there this year and all of the beautiful folks that booked me for their events. I love you! And an honourable shoutout and thank doodle for friends and muses like my dear Johnny Irwin (Civilian) who throughout my career and our friendship has constantly reminded me of my worth and that there is inherent value in being a SELEKTAH! Johnny, you are honestly so important to so many people and we are all so lucky to know you my dude! MY DUDE! Thanks to Kato (my roots) for your guidance and support when I was a fledgling, thanks to Nolan for the hours we’ve spent together digging for and playing tunes, and having the best times (and the most stressful times) throwing events and parties, thanks to Huw for always having my back and letting me make noise any time of day in his living room, and feeding me, and giving me hugs. Thanks to Hayley for your rad attitude and always encouraging me to just f*****g send it, and thanks to Maggie for doing her best to always come to my shows… There are lots more people to thank, I am sooo lucky. DJing is a pretty multifaceted activity, and when it comes down to it, I do it as a form of expression, and to play music that I want to share with others, turbo bonus if people dance! TURBO SUPER BIG TIME BONUS is the connections that I’ve had the privilege of making. Ok that was my reflection, did you see yourself in it? Hope so! Bye!

This mix is my Bass Coast application mix and showcases passion for my absolute favourite genre to mix and dance to, dancehall! Endless love and gratitude for Jamaican artists and their tidal waves of talent and inspiration 🙏 I mixed this using Serato, 4 channels, and stems. Went easy on the pullbacks and sirens, but had to include a few as a salute to my dancehall predecessors :) Music lover, DJ, dancer, event producer, and radio host, Dolla Hilz knows it's always a good time for a dance party! Puppet-master of any dancefloor, you name it, she can mix it! Reggae, dancehall, dub, hip-hop, grime, afrobeats, bootybass, drum n' bass, jungle, house and more! Dolla Hilz pours love into all of her performances and projects, ever propelled upwards by her passion for spreading joy, love and understanding through music and movement.

Memories and Melodies is a radio show curated by Tilda Bron and Megan Harvey and airs on Stoke FM Sundays at 7:30pm. Stoke FM is Revelstoke, BC's volunteer-run community radio station 92.5FM and online as well! Memories and Melodies has a different guest every week to discuss songs from their past. These ladies are amazing and it was such a pleasure to recount some of my favourite songs. It's a compelling way to construct a narrative of your life. I had a blast and am so happy to have been on the airwaves again after a loooooooong hiatus. Long. Live. Radio.

Allez! Here is the last two hours of my set from Allez! A rooftop speakeasy disco/funk party. This was an inspired evening that transported attendees back to the 70s! The outfits were fabulous and retro, and the ‘no phones’ rule resulted in an evening of connection and dancing without distraction. The 70s is my absolute favourite decade for music and it comes across in this set. Thank you so much for your energy and dancing all evening long! I had so much fun! This evening felt like a soul cleanse! Sometimes, you just need to send some love into the ethos and dance it out. Thank you for being a part of that. Big thank you to Max and his amazing vision and execution. Check out his vintage/outdoor apparel brand, Mountain Archives. Thank you to Quartermaster for hosting us in your beautiful venue. Big ups yourself, you are beautiful, life is a gift, enjoy it! If you like this mix, share it! Check out the photos: https://www.mountainarchives.ca/allez
