This podcast covers the section of road south from Old Faithful down to West Thumb and then down to the South Gate and then we drive along the seldom seen but beautiful Flagg Ranch/Marysville/Grassy Lake Road. You will hear a story about how not to hike in bear country then we stop at the only lake in the US that flows into both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  We visit a great picture spot that where you can see just how big Yellowstone Park really is then talk about a not so great hike to Heart Lake that my dad used to drive to in the 1950's. And then possibly the best kayak adventure you will ever experience on Lewis and Shoshone Lakes and my futile effort at it once which really pissed me off.  I also tell you about how you can swim and possibly cliff jump in the warm waters of Moose Falls with the water pouring all over you and its just a minute from your car. This podcast covers all the fun things you can do just outside of Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks. There is a reason that hardly any of the locals from West, Jackson or Big Sky ever go into the parks and the reason for that is that there is a TON of really fun and exiting things to do right outside the parks boundaries that are NOT allowed inside the parks.  We cover how West Yellowstone is the Fly Fishing capital of the world and why movie stars, sports stars, planes full of Russians and now you flock to West Yellowstone to go fly fishing and you might catch up to 75 trout on your first day.  We then cover where to rent and ride ATV's including the new and very safe side by side units on the best trails in the US right outside YNP. This podcast covers the section of road between Norris Geyser Basin and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone Park which is home to the most awe inspiring thing in the park, the Lower Falls which sits in the namesake canyon for Yellowstone Park.  There is not much to see along this short section of road but we do see the gorgeous Virginia Cascades along the way and discuss a few great hikes for kids and where you can find the elusive Bullwinkle the Moose. This podcast covers the 14 mile section of road from Madison Junction to Norris Geyser Basin which is home to Steamboat Geyser which USED to be the largest geyser on the planet.  Along the way I will tell you about a rather interesting car wreck as well as 3 great hikes. The first is right to the base of Gibbon Falls where the trail actually goes into the river in spots and where you can have the warm waters of Gibbon Falls cascading down all over you as well as a great swimming & fishing spot right at the base of the falls.  I then describe to you the Gibbon Meadow backcountry geyser area where you will find all sorts of colored pools, mud pots, fumaroles and geyser pools that erupt constantly. This area is truly in the backcountry but is only a short hike from your car and is a truly hidden gem in Yellowstone that less than a hundred people have seen since the inception of the park in 1872 and gets you to the beautiful Evening Primrose Spring. I then tell you about a great hike that is suitable for even the smallest hiker in your group and when you should do it.  I will also tell you about a really interesting and somewhat weird spot along the Gibbon River that is only 20' from the road but is hidden by trees so hardly anyone knows its there where you can find the only active "needle" in the park as well as some of the oddest rocks in the river that you can get right in the river for a nice swim and a great pic.  I will also cover Norris Geyser Basin which is by far and away my least favorite stop in the park and I tell you why you shouldn't stop here unless you have a couple weeks to kill in the park. In this podcast, I cover 3 great roads that are all shown on the Yellowstone park map they hand you when you go through the gate. However, these roads skirt the Northern and then Southern Boundaries of Yellowstone Park and hardly anyone even knows they exist but they all offer some great and seldom seen sections of roads inside Yellowstone Park as well as just outside it's Western Boundary.  We cover all the great things to see from West Yellowstone north on 191 which actually goes inside the park without any fees or traffic and a suggested 55MPH speed limit which gets you to some of the best hiking spots in the park as well as Big Sky and then I tell you about the best of Bozeman including where they film scenes from the show Yellowstone with Kevins Costner.  We then hit 287 as it exits Yellowstone Park and I get you to the best breakfast in the US and then along the driving tour of the worst natural disaster to ever hit the US where you will be driving on the top of 28 bodies under the road.  We then hit the Flagg Ranch Road which runs from Ashton Idaho right along the souther boundary of Yellowstone Park all the way to the South Entry gate.
