So what had happened was... someone slid in our DMs and asked us if we believed in toxic femininity (as if believing in it can be likened to something like believing in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy) and then they went on to ask us what the definition of toxic femininity is.  We answered the question via dm and on this episode of Shameless but not before we rolled our eyes in apparent liberation privilege. The short answer: toxicity is genderless... we all got that shit.  But in what ways are women.. and more pointedly Black women toxic? And since it was National Coming Out Day, how can Black women display toxic behaviors when it comes to sexuality and gender. So we started asking questions:  What makes a man gay?  Is there a gay agenda? Why don't men have the space to explore sexuality in the ways that women do?  What is it about trans identity that makes people so damn mad? So in typical Shameless fashion we used humor and personal stories to tackle all of these questions. Take a listen and then hit our DMs and tell us what you think!
