308. Beyond the Bottom Line - A Fancier Spreadsheet is NOT the Solution, You Are!

Most business or financial advice only looks at the data. Your revenue goes into the spreadsheet, and out come smart recommendations but without taking the human being running the business into consideration.
This is not at all how I work with clients. In this episode I pull back the curtain and share what it's like to have me as your fractional CFO, partner and ally. What it looks like when financial precision is combined with a genuine understanding of human nature.
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is the loneliness of it. When you work with me, you get a safe space to be completely authentic. To say "I am exhausted and I don't know what to do" and "the numbers scare me" and "I feel like I'm the bottleneck in my own business" all in the same conversation. And the best part, you don't have to offer lengthy explanations because as your fractional CFO I know already what's going on in your business.
In my experience, something shifts, not just in the numbers on the spreadsheets also in the person at the helm of that business when you have someone who truly gets both, the numbers and the human behind it, in your corner.

After a really rough day at the office, the kind that leaves you completely drained, your nervous system buzzing, and your brain still replaying everything even though you're technically off the clock.... my advice to my client was surprisingly simple.
In this episode I share a tiny but powerful ritual that costs nothing extra, takes only a few minutes, and has both ancient wisdom and modern neuroscience behind it. Now the ritual works for everyone all the time, but I also share a personalized twist for each of the four elements, fire, earth, air and water... speaking of water, here is a little spoiler, it involves water. In this episode we take a look at the popular advice to “spend to save taxes.” Together we walk through a simple example that shows why buying random things at the end of the year just to reduce profit is usually a losing game for your bank account and your peace of mind.
Instead of trying to get rid of profit (hear how backwards that sounds?), I invite you to see profit as something you can direct. I'll suggest calmer, more empowering ways to use the money we have.
