When Oliver Kelley began farming in Minnesota during the mid-1850s, he was frustrated by the low status of farmers and the isolation of rural life. In 1962, Dave "Snaker" Ray, Tony "Little Sun" Glover and "Spider" John Koerner met in the Dinkytown neighborhood near the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. They formed a trio whose musical influences ran deep into America's history, and whose influence on future musicians still runs to this day.
