Mark: Knowing the Son of God "The Savior" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/10/04
We all carry heavy burdens, whether broken relationships, health crises, or deep loneliness. But in Mark 2, Jesus reveals that our greatest need is not physical relief. It is forgiveness of sin and a restored relationship with God. When four friends lower a paralyzed man through a roof to reach Jesus, He addresses the deeper need first, forgiving the man's sins before healing his body. This act proves that Jesus has divine authority, fulfilling the prophecy of the Son of Man in Daniel 7. The story calls us to two kinds of faith: saving faith that trusts Jesus alone for forgiveness, and courageous faith that takes risks to bring others to Him. Like the four friends, we are invited to grab a corner of someone's mat and refuse to let go.

Mark: Knowing the Song of God "The Authority & Power" | Pastor J.D. Abell
2026/09/27
Mark chapter one presents five powerful scenes that reveal who Jesus truly is. His authority amazed crowds, silenced demons, and healed the sick, all pointing to something far greater than a miracle worker. He is Lord, and He invites every person into a real relationship with Him, not just a transaction. The deeper question each scene raises is personal: are you seeking Jesus for what you can get, or are you surrendering your whole life to His lordship? No darkness, no shame, no past, and no sin is too powerful for Him. He is willing to meet you exactly where you are. The leper who knelt before Jesus and said 'If you will, you can make me clean' received an immediate answer: I will. Whatever your 'if' is, bring it to Jesus and trust that He is willing.

Mark: Knowing the Son of God "The Proclamation" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/09/20
Mark chapter one answers three of the most important questions anyone can ask about life and faith. The world is a spiritual wilderness, full of chaos and darkness, but the greater power belongs to God and is often unseen. Becoming a Christian is not about growing up in church or following religious routines. It requires a genuine crossing over, a repentance that changes allegiance and a belief placed fully in the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ. Living as a Christian means adopting the priorities Jesus modeled, including worship, prayer, dependence on the Holy Spirit, grounding in Scripture, intentional relationships, and obedience. It also means joining His mission to make disciples who make disciples. The call is urgent and clear: repent, believe, follow, and bring others along.

Mark: Knowing the Son of God "The Mission" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/09/13
The mission of God has always been for His Spirit to dwell with His people, and this truth is on full display in the opening chapter of Mark. From Old Testament prophecy to the baptism of Jesus, every detail points to one unified story of redemption. John the Baptist prepared the way through a baptism of repentance, but Jesus offers something far greater: the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer. Repentance is not a one-time event but an ongoing posture of the heart, a daily surrender to God rather than a reliance on self-justification. At Jesus' baptism, the entire Trinity was present and active, commissioning the Son for His mission and inviting us into relationship with God Himself. God does not need us, but He chooses to use us, calling us to plant, water, and trust Him with the results.

Mark: Knowing the Son of God "The Beginning" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/09/06
Mark 1:1 is only twelve words long, but those twelve words carry the weight of everything Christians believe about hope, salvation, and the identity of Jesus. Mark was written for people who fail, who doubt, and who keep missing the point, and it shows a Jesus who keeps walking alongside them anyway. The word gospel means good news, not good advice. It is an event in history that changes everything. Jesus is the fulfillment of centuries of expectation, arriving as prophet, priest, and king all at once. He is not derived from God. He is God, taking on flesh. In a world where so much feels uncertain, He is the one hope that is both authentic and transformational.

Proverbs: "The Woman" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/08/30
Proverbs 31 is far more than a checklist for wives. It is a portrait of what wisdom looks like when it takes root in a person's life from the inside out. The woman described is rare, valuable, and deeply trusted by those closest to her. She works hard, works smart, and consistently turns her efforts outward toward others. Her speech is marked by wisdom and kindness, and her life is built on the fear of the Lord. Charm fades and beauty is temporary, but a life grounded in reverence for God produces something lasting. None of us can sustain this kind of life on our own strength, which is exactly why the gospel is central. Because Christ loved us first, we are freed and empowered to love others well.

Proverbs: "The Attentive" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/08/24
It is easy to drift through life without truly paying attention to what matters most. Proverbs 27 calls us to know the condition of our lives, just as a shepherd knows the condition of his flock. What we have today will not last forever, and the things that matter require tending. Being attentive means facing hard truths, receiving honest feedback, and responding to danger before it grows. It also means paying attention to our season of life and the unique demands it brings. Most importantly, it means giving careful thought to our spiritual lives, where our souls are headed, and what legacy we are leaving behind. The encouraging truth is that even as we are called to be attentive, God is already deeply attentive to us. He is the Good Shepherd who never loses track of His sheep.

Proverbs: "God’s Sovereignty & Man’s Plans" | Speaker Mark Farran
2026/08/16
We all make plans, but Proverbs 16 reminds us that God is the one who ultimately establishes our steps. Our desires for love, security, purpose, and experience are not wrong in themselves, but our motives behind them are often harder to see clearly than we think. God weighs what we cannot, and He invites us to bring our plans to Him with open hands. Surrendering our desires to His glory is not about giving up what we want. It is about trusting the One who wrote the stars into motion before humanity even existed. His sovereignty and our choices are not in conflict. They are the stage on which His character is most clearly revealed. The question worth asking is not just what we want, but whether what we want reflects the glory of God.

Proverbs: "The Friend: | Speaker Hunter Thorpe
2026/08/09
Friendship is one of the most powerful forces shaping how we grow in faith, wisdom, and character. Proverbs 18 warns against both isolation and shallow relationships, pointing us toward the kind of deep, genuine community that produces real wisdom. A fool speaks without seeking understanding, while the wise person listens, invites honest feedback, and surrounds himself with trusted voices. Humility is the foundation of both wisdom and honor, and no one grows in godliness alone. The church is uniquely designed to provide the multigenerational, cross-cultural relationships that the world increasingly lacks. When conflict arises, godly wisdom calls us to hear both sides before drawing conclusions and to choose love over the need to be right. Every believer needs both a mentor who pours into them and someone they are investing in themselves. And for those who have been wounded by broken friendships, Jesus remains the most faithful friend of all, the One who is making all things new.

Proverbs: "The Drunkard" | Speaker Matt May
2026/08/02
Alcohol is one of those topics that often gets treated casually, even in Christian circles, but Scripture takes it seriously. Proverbs 23 paints a vivid picture of the destruction that excessive drinking brings, not just physically, but spiritually and relationally. The Bible does not say Christians cannot drink, but it is clear that abusing alcohol leads to real and lasting harm. Our bodies, our souls, and our relationships all bear the cost. God's design is not for us to be controlled by anything other than His Spirit. The question worth asking is not just whether drinking is allowed, but whether it is pulling us closer to God or further away. Whatever habit may be quietly competing for our devotion, God invites us to make room for Him instead.

Proverbs: "How is Your Garden?" | Pastor J.D. Abell
2026/07/26
Laziness is a sin that often hides in plain sight, disguised as rest or self-care. Proverbs 24:30-34 uses the image of a neglected vineyard to show what an undisciplined life looks like from the outside. The Bible identifies seven key characteristics of a lazy lifestyle, including trouble starting and finishing work, making excuses, and being wise in one's own eyes. The real cure for laziness is not simply working harder. It is a heart transformation that only comes through Jesus Christ. He was perfectly faithful in everything the Father gave Him to do, and through faith in Him, His faithfulness is credited to us. Because of the gospel, we have both the forgiveness for our failures and the power through the Holy Spirit to grow in faithfulness.

Proverbs: "The Poor" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/07/19
Proverbs 28 offers a layered and honest look at wealth, poverty, integrity, and our responsibility to one another. Poverty is not simply a lack of money but the result of broken relationships, with God, with others, and with the world. Having wealth is not sinful, but the relentless pursuit of it at any cost leads to ruin. Integrity outranks wealth in God's economy, and greed ultimately impoverishes rather than enriches. Corrupt leaders who oppress the poor will not last, because God sees injustice and acts. Giving to those in need is not optional for followers of God, and real help requires genuine relationship, not just financial assistance. The gospel reframes everything: we are not people of strength looking down at the poor, but beggars who have been rescued by grace. Living with integrity in a world that rewards greed takes courage, and that courage is rooted in trusting God for the good of our neighbors.

Proverbs: "The Talker" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/07/12
Words are more than communication. They are a window into the condition of our hearts. Proverbs 25 weaves together a collection of wisdom sayings that all point to one central truth: what we fail to rule on the inside will eventually ruin the outside. From the danger of empty promises to the power of a well-timed word, this chapter challenges us to take our speech seriously. Jesus perfectly embodies every principle found here, coming from heaven to bring good news to spiritually hungry and thirsty people. By His grace and through the Holy Spirit, we can become people whose words bring life, healing, and truth to everyone around us.

Proverbs: "The Strong" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/07/05
True strength is not what most people think it is. Proverbs 24 makes clear that real strength is rooted in wisdom, not force or violence. While human nature is drawn to power and retaliation, those paths lead to destruction rather than lasting fruit. Wisdom builds what violence never can, and it multiplies through counsel and community. Strength is not meant to serve our own pride or comfort. It is meant to rescue those who are stumbling toward destruction. Jesus is the ultimate model of this, using His strength entirely for others at great personal cost. That is the life every believer is called to follow.

Proverbs: "The Fool" | Pastor Todd Hessel
2026/06/28
Proverbs 26:1-12 offers a vivid and practical picture of what biblical foolishness looks like and how to respond to it wisely. A fool is not simply someone who makes mistakes but someone who repeatedly refuses to learn or change. Giving a fool honor, responsibility, or unchallenged influence causes real damage to everyone around them. Even truth in the hands of a fool can become harmful rather than helpful. But the sharpest warning in the passage is not about the fool at all. It is about the person who is wise in their own eyes, because there is more hope for a fool than for someone who believes they have nothing left to learn. True wisdom begins with humility before God, a willingness to be corrected, and a posture of ongoing openness to His Word and His work in our lives.
