Your Life | 201 | One Of The Few
2026/09/29
Someone asked Jesus a question many people still wonder about: “Lord, are only a few going to be saved?”
Jesus could have answered with a number. He didn't.Instead, He turned the question back toward the people listening: “Strive to enter through the narrow door.”
In this episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler explore Jesus' challenging words in Luke 13 and the difference between simply being familiar with Jesus and actually living in relationship with Him.It's possible to know the language. Attend church. Study the Bible. Be surrounded by Christians. Talk the talk.
But proximity isn't the same as relationship.
Tony and Dan also discuss how easily Christians can become distracted by everyone else's spiritual condition—especially in an age of social media where publicly examining, criticizing and labeling other believers has become remarkably easy.
Jesus turns our attention back toward the mirror.Instead of asking how many will make it through the narrow door, perhaps the more important question is:
Am I actually following Jesus through it?

Your Life | 200 | Where Have You Positioned Your Mind
2026/09/22
Positive thinking may change your mood. But Paul is talking about something much deeper.
In Colossians 3, believers are told to “set your mind on things above.” But that doesn't mean ignoring the bills, pretending groceries aren't expensive, or denying the very real circumstances causing anxiety in our lives.
In this episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler explore the difference between simply trying to think positively and learning to think from our identity in Christ.Paul begins with who we are: we've been raised with Christ, our lives are hidden with Christ in God, and the old life no longer defines us. From that new identity comes a new way of thinking—and eventually a new way of living.
Because thoughts don't stay thoughts forever. What occupies the mind eventually affects our words, decisions, relationships and actions.
The goal, then, isn't simply behaving better. It's becoming increasingly like Christ.

Your Life | 199 | What Do You Want Me To Do For You?
2026/09/15
If Jesus stood in front of you today and asked, “What do you want Me to do for you?”—how would you answer?
In Mark 10, Jesus asks that question twice.
First, James and John come asking for positions of honor beside Jesus in His glory. They want something great—but Jesus reveals that they don't fully understand either what they're asking for or the kind of Kingdom He came to establish.
Then Jesus encounters blind Bartimaeus.
Bartimaeus doesn't ask for position. He cries for mercy. And when Jesus asks him the same question—“What do you want Me to do for you?”—he knows exactly what he wants: “That I may receive my sight.”
In this episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler explore what these two encounters teach us about prayer, ambition, motives, faith, service and surrender. Because perhaps the issue isn't simply whether Jesus can answer our prayers.
Do we understand what we're asking—and are we ready for what happens when He answers?

Your Life | 198 | Are You Doing Too Much?
2026/09/08
What do you do when you've done what God asked—but nothing seems to be happening?
In one of Jesus' shortest parables, a farmer scatters seed on the ground and then does something that can be surprisingly difficult for us: he goes to sleep.
In this episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler unpack Mark 4:26–29 and the difference between faithful responsibility and anxious overwork. The farmer has a job. He plants the seed. He remains attentive. Eventually, he'll harvest the crop. But he doesn't make the seed grow—and Jesus specifically says he doesn't even understand how it happens.
Tony and Dan apply that principle to spiritual growth, our expectations of ourselves, our relationships with other people, and our tendency to judge progress before God has finished His work.
Sometimes nothing appears to be happening because the most important work is still taking place beneath the surface.

Your Life | Encore Performance | How Bad Do You Want It?
2026/09/01
You say you want something different. But how bad do you really want it?
It's easy to admire someone else's success. We see the athlete, leader, businessperson, parent, or mature Christian they are today—but rarely see the years of discipline, sacrifice, failure, correction, and persistence that produced what we're admiring.
In this episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler turn to Proverbs 2 and Solomon's instruction to seek wisdom as though searching for hidden treasure.
There's an important principle underneath Solomon's words:
Desire is demonstrated by pursuit.
If we truly want wisdom, we have to listen. Ask questions. Receive correction. Seek understanding. Learn from people who have already walked the road—even when the person carrying that wisdom doesn't look like the messenger we expected.
Tony and Dan also connect Proverbs 2 with Jesus' encounter in Luke 9 with people who said they wanted to follow Him—until following required something from them.
But the conversation eventually becomes a challenge specifically to Christian men.
Where are the men intentionally investing in younger men?
Tony shares encounters with young men who seem disconnected and directionless and asks whether mature Christian men are willing to step into that gap. Dan makes the challenge practical: don't wait for a mentoring program.
Find someone.
Ask how he's doing—and mean it.
Follow up. Send the text. Share what you've learned. Help another man avoid some of the holes you stepped in yourself.
You don't accidentally become wise. And wisdom isn't meant to stop with you.
Someone around you may need the man God has spent years shaping you to become.

Your Life | 197 | What Are You Building On?
2026/08/18
At the conclusion of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes two builders. Both hear His words. Both build a house. Both experience the same storm.
Only one house stands.
In this episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler explore Matthew 7:24–27 and the uncomfortable distinction Jesus makes between hearing His teaching and actually obeying it.
The conversation explores what it means to build your life on Christ, how seemingly small compromises can produce spiritual drift, why hardship sometimes exposes cracks that were already in our foundation, and what obedience looks like in ordinary decisions involving relationships, work, money, priorities, and faith.
They also tackle an important misconception about following Jesus: obedience doesn't prevent storms. Both houses were hit. Jesus isn't promising that obedient Christians escape hardship—He's teaching that obedience establishes a life capable of withstanding it.
The strongest Christian life isn't necessarily built by knowing more. It's built by obeying what Jesus has already told us to do.

Your Life | 190 | Live Free
2026/05/12
In this powerful conversation on Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler open the book of Galatians to explore what it really means to live free in Christ. Drawing from Galatians 5, they unpack how believers — even today — can slip back into spiritual bondage by trusting in rules, rituals, or feelings instead of resting in the finished work of Christ.
Tony challenges listeners to disconnect their feelings from their faith decisions, while Dan shares a personal turning point between simply getting saved and truly surrendering to Christ. Together, they reveal how renewed thinking, honest self-assessment, and authentic prayer guard us from re‑entangling ourselves in the very chains Jesus broke.
If you’ve ever felt like the Christian life is heavier than it should be, this episode is your reminder: freedom isn’t something you earn — it’s something you walk in.

Your Life | 189 | Positioned to Stand. Called to Live
2026/04/28
In this thought‑provoking episode of Your Life, Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler invite listeners to rediscover the believer’s true position in Christ. Drawing deeply from Colossians 2 and 3, they unpack what it means to be rooted, built up, and established in faith — even as a world full of noise, temptation, and confusion constantly pulls us in other directions.
Dr. Haire reminds us that the life of faith isn’t about performing religion; it’s about being hidden in Christ. Dan connects the conversation to the way everyday habits — what we watch, listen to, and entertain — shape our walk with God. Together, they offer clarity and hope for believers who want to live authentically Christian lives in a culture that constantly tests their convictions.
The conversation challenges listeners to confront sin honestly, stay spiritually grounded, and remember that the simplicity of the Gospel is the power of God at work in every believer.

Your Life | 188 | The Law of Addition
2026/04/21
Dr. Tony Haire and Dan DeBruler discuss how real leadership isn’t title or status — it’s service. Through Colossians 1, Paul’s writings reveal the heart of a leader who sacrifices self to add value to others.
This conversation inspires believers to bring Christ’s presence into everyday life by mentoring, listening, and loving. Each of us has influence — and through Christ‑like leadership we can turn that influence into
impact that transforms homes, communities, and nations.
