Washed Gods. Washed. Never Washed Up. Another week in the book. Sean & Draft are still scratching & surviving. “Hood Times”. Taji still with us in spirit. We’ve been working on staying more consistent.  The crime wave in LA (and nation wide if we’re being honest) has the attention of the news media & law enforcement. The police in LA took the time to warn travelers, not to come to LA because they can’t guarantee their safety. Could they ever? That’s another pod for another date.  Travis Scott had a sit down with Charlemagne Tha God. We’re not sure if it helped his case but it was something to watch. So we talked about it. Hertz rental car company is under fire because of a number of customers being pulled over and being accused of stealing rental cars. Approximately 165 incidents involving rentals & the police. A shady set of circumstances that have them in legal trouble.  The nation is currently in the midst of a labor shortage. The pandemic has had people accustomed to working from home. If at all. And now no one wants to return to the “status quo”. Making America great hasn’t looked so bleak.  That’s about it. What we’ve been watching and listening round out the episodes. Washed moments. You know the drill. Washed. Never Washed Up.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/washedgods/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/washedgods/support

What’s up Gods and Goddesses?!!? Guess who’s bizack?!?  “You still smell the pod on our clothes?” Anyway this was a slow news week so we kept it short as well . Sean’s been biding his time until he makes his next move, while Draft considers a different kind of move.  We talked about the fight that transpired between Bone thugs N Harmony and 3-6 mafia during verzuz and Draft gives his take on the Hulu Astroworld doc and plenty more!!   LIKE RATE SHARE SUBSCRIBE !! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/washedgods/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/washedgods/support

Washed Gods. Washed. Never Washed Up. Another week in paradise. Sean and Draft have been going through the motions. Taji is still on hiatus. We’ll keep this short and sweet.  We lost Malikah Shabazz & Virgil Abloh since our last pod. We gave our condolences & talked about the effects of all this loss during an already stressful 4th quarter.  The holiday season is upon us. And people are faker than ever. All the bad music & insincere giving is at its height. We hate it. We talked about it. Not much else there. Three 6 Mafia & Bone Thugs In Harmony (gotta say the whole thing out of respect) are the next two groups selected to do a “Verzuz” with Swizz & Timbo. Our predictions are Triple 6 by a landslide, but we’ll see. The Gods are going to start doing our own Verzuz-esque head to head music battle. Stay tuned.  Last but not least… If you haven’t noticed, we debate a lot. This week’s debate was “What define’s a sport?” Does it have a ball? What’s the goal? Do you have to have equipment? We never came to a conclusion.  What we’ve been watching/listening to to round out the podcast. “All the world’s ill’s…” Like. Subscribe. Share. Washed Gods. Washed. Never Washed Up. It’s been a long time. We shouldn’t have left you, without a dope pod to step to… life has been life’n lately as we like to say. The holiday season brings out the fake feels. We came back to bring you the real. The three of us have been keeping our head down during these trying times. The quote “all the world’s ill’s…” hasn’t been more true to form than as of late. The artist, businessman, & father Young Dolph was killed in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee this past week. We talked about the dynamic relationship between rap music & violence. How it’s effecting the way the world looks at our music, & what it means for the future generations of artists coming up in this industry.  In other unfortunate music news, Travis Scott can’t shake the AstroWorld backlash it seems. Since the annual festival was cancelled due to a number of injuries & 9 deaths, lawsuits have been filed against La Flame, Drake, & Apple Music. The total amount of the suit is to the tune of 2 billion dollars. There was a lot to unpack here. We talked about the responsibility of artists to maintain the safety of the fans at shows.  Kanye West sat down with the Drink Champs for not one, but two very entertaining interviews. We talked about the highlights of their conversation. We talked about how good it was to see him in his element. Among friends and not just media pundits looking for a hit take. They were definitely in there though! All the things you love about the Gods of the Pods are back. Except the visuals (Taji’s be back soon). Oh and Washed Moments. We forgot to do those this week. We got y’all next time. What we’ve been watching/listening to are in there. And we’ll be giving you more content soon. Stay tuned. WNWU. Like. Subscribe. Share. Washed Gods. Washed. Never Washed Up. Welcome back gods & goddesses. This week we bring you episode 83. We’re back in a groove again. And it feels good. Sean has been rediscovering his youth through concerts & conflict. Draft has been on his existential soap box and has discovered what his threshold on “discovery” is. Taji… had a week.  This week was wild in general. Alec Baldwin caught a body on the set of the movie Rust. Director of Photography Halyna Hutchins was killed in the tragic accident. Another person on set was injured. The subject became a discussion about unions & Hollywood families.  Colin Powell died. We didn’t do or say much in regards to our sentiments on his passing. Take that how you will.  In another turn of unfortunate events, rappers Oschino & Freeway lost sons this past week in Philadelphia. We expressed our sympathy.  Last but not least, we remember Black Lives Matter, right? No? They raised a bunch of money for families who lost loved ones to gun violence and liberated African Americans from the oppression of the militarized police force. Only part of this explanation is factual. Money was raised. But we ain’t heard about a family helped or seen a police department disassembled on account of BLM yet. One of the founders bought a house though. Modest 7 figures. Since then we’ve been wondering if black lives still “matter” like they used to?  Washed moments & what we’ve been listening/watching to round out the pod. “All the world’s ill’s…” Like. Subscribe. Washed Gods. Washed Never Washed Up. What up Gods & Goddesses? The gang is back! 100% & ready to vent! We’ve been busy the past few weeks. Sean made his return to the couch after a long work week. Draft & Taji held it down last episode.  Ben Simmons returns to the 76er’s after holding out for the beginning of camp. We talked about the possible reasons why & who might play first. Ben Simmons or Kyrie Irving? Speaking of Kyrie, he’s not playing this season due to New York’s vaccine mandate for people who attend public gatherings. His stance on vaccines is not a surprise based on his previous takes on NBA policies, players relationships with the media, & flat earth. He just fits the description of the “unvaccinated”.  We doubled back on Dave Chappelle’s latest stand-up special. Just to get an all around pod perspective.  Jon Gruden recently resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders after some emails were discovered during an investigation of the Washington Football Team. They were everything you’d expect from white head football coach. Anti-Kapernick quotes. Homophobic rhetoric. The whole nine yards.  William Shatner aka Captain Kirk went to space. That’s it. Jeff Besos is turning space flight into the new rich version of sky diving.  What we’ve been watching & listening to round out this episode. Washed Moments in the mix. “All The World’s Ill’s”. Like. Washed Gods. Washed Never Washed Up. We’re back. In part. Draft has returned with Taji to update the Gods & Goddesses on the podcast. Sean’s been out the way, but will be back soon. This week we kept it short and sweet. Facebook went out for a few hours and the world went to twitter to talk about the conspiracy theories. Social media history became the theme on the overall topic. Tumblr. The “Fail” Whale. The dependency and addiction.  A number of NBA players have been indicted on charges of insurance fraud. If “sloppy work” was a news story. Apparently the case went federal. Free the guys! Mike Tyson stepped in different kind of black fist recently. Dr. Umar challenged him to a boxing match because of a conversation Mike & Freddie Gibbs were having about his views on white people. Speaking of white people. Dave Chappelle’s latest stand up special had a clear and concise point. Which we won’t spoil, but its stirred up some interesting conversations. His views come from a specific time. We discussed the nuance of his bits based on his era of comedy & life in general. What we’ve been watching & listening to in the mix. Washed Moments of course. Thanks for watching/listening… Like. It’s been a long time… We shouldnna left you… It’s the Gods of the Pods. We been trying to stop saying “We’re back once again…” This is me trying things out. Ep. 80. S/O Jerry Rice. Happy birthday Chop. Another washed year. Drizzy Draft is back to the working world. Sean’s still trying to work his way out. Taji & Warren been working too much. All is well. The Matrix Trilogy is getting a 4th installment this Christmas. We talked about the roll out and how the dynamic of that concept may have changed over the years. Andre 3000 made an appearance on a Kanye song that was slated for the Donda album. It ended up not making the cut but he did make a moment. Lots of music talk this pod. What we’ve been listening to & watching to round out the pod. Washed moments of course. “All the world’s ill’s…” Like. Subscribe. Share. Welcome back Gods & Goddesses. Washed Gods. Washed. Never Washed Up. The whole gang is here. Taji’s back in the fold this week. Glad to have him back. This was a really Washed episode. Donda is finally here. We talked about how we feel about the album now that we’ve listened to it in it’s entirety. Lots of features. Max Kellerman is leaving First Take with Stephen A. Smith. We talked about the possible reasons for his departure. He’s getting a new show of his own so it’s really not a loss. It may be part of ESPN’s house cleaning initiative. Shout out Rachel Nichols. Only Fans Is back. No sooner did we talk about them dialing back the sexual content did they hit us with a reverse. They Thanos snapped the whole agenda as soon as competition started to pop up with alternate streaming networks. Nore recently got into hot water with Wu-Tang Clan for some off the cuff comments on Drink Champs. It seems like they’re not back pedaling or doubling down. Mickey Factz however… is another story. Washed Moments of course. What we’ve been listening to & watching mixed in. Thanks again for tuning in. Like. Share. Subscribe.
