Description

Dan Goldberg is a serial entrepreneur and host of the Bits of Gold podcast where he explores thought provoking topics, navigating tough circumstances, and ultimately how you can build a purpose driven life no matter what.  On Bits of Gold, Dan discusses waking up to who we truly are, finding our purpose, and the importance of building our dream life through unfiltered conversations, personal experience, and inspiring interviews.  Dan’s ability to connect with his listeners is largely due to a series of unfortunate events. When Dan was 20 years old, he lost his dad to a rare cancer. Only a few short years later, weeks after his 25th birthday, he lost his mom to an even rarer cancer.  For Dan, these tremendous losses taught him a lesson that would ultimately shape the rest of his life; “You can’t control how much time you have on this earth. The only thing you can control is how you spend the limited time that you are given.”  It’s his mission to help you harness your life… To recognize that your time on this earth is limited. And by knowing this, to help you  commit to building your dream life no matter what.  Tune in weekly for inspiring interviews to help you live and build a purpose driven life. BOG # 103 How to Build Your Best Life Ever w/ Andre Norman
2022/06/06
Andre Norman is the reason to believe in second chances. His tenacity and passion for people led him to start his transformational program, The Academy of Hope, a program designed to reduce institutional violence in prisons by providing an intense level of intervention while also creating a positive environment for the inmate population and staff. But this wasn’t always his calling. Nearly two decades ago, Norman was serving a 100-year sentence in prison, but he was no regular prisoner. A natural-born leader, he rose to be the top gang leader within the facility, running all the daily gang activity. After an epiphany in solitary confinement, Norman made the decision to turn his life around. He had a simple dream to attend Harvard University and become successful. Over the next 8 years, Andre worked 20-hour days to make this dream a reality. He taught himself how to read, then to study and understand the law, and then volunteered to participate in anger management groups. After winning his appeal and being armed with a GED and a dream, Andre walked out of prison in 1999, after serving 14 years. Having survived rock bottom, Norman knew he could help others do the same. He pulled from his life experiences and created The Academy of Hope and set out on his mission to teach both individuals and corporations how to turn any situation around. In this episode, we share Andre's personal story and how you can turn your life around at any point to ultimately build your best life. BOG #102 Overcoming Hardship & Helping Moms Build Resilience w/ Melissa Reilly
2022/05/30
In this episode, I interview Melissa Reilly, a mom of two boys, clinical psychologist, and parent coach passionate about helping moms separated from their mother by physical distance, estrangement, or death, move from feelings of insecurity, isolation, and overwhelm to a place of resilience. Through her personal and professional experience, she has come to recognize that Moms without a mom experience grief as part of their motherhood experience, even if they don’t realize it. The relationship moms have had (or didn’t have) with their mothers impacts how they see themselves but doesn’t define them. She believes it isn’t knowledge and skills that create resilience, but rather it is born through overcoming hardship, having a community, and living by one’s values. She is honored to walk with moms on their journey to becoming the mom they always wanted to be. Melissa’s psychological practice, Shoudt & Reilly Psychological Services has been serving residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania for over 22 years. She is now expanding her services to include parent coaching focusing on Moms Without a Mom which can be accessed by women all over the world through her website momswithoutamom.com.  Connect with Melissa here: https://www.instagram.com/momswithoutamom/ https://www.facebook.com/Dr.MelissaReilly https://www.tiktok.com/@momswithoutamom See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
