You're always preaching something
2026/10/25
Two pillars of the early church in the same room, and Paul publicly opposes Peter to his face. Not because Peter had stopped believing the gospel, but because his actions were preaching a different one. He was eating with Gentiles, then pulling back when the Jewish crowd arrived. Fear had moved him. His behaviour had become the sermon, and the sermon was wrong.
In this message from Galatians 2:11–21, Jai unpacks the confrontation at Antioch and brings it straight to 2026: you are always preaching something, whether you intend to or not. The question is whether your life is aligned with the gospel you say you believe. Realign your table, realign your fear, realign your motive. Faith in Christ plus nothing equals everything.

The gospel gives us a new prescription
2026/10/18
The Judaisers in Galatia weren’t anti-Jesus. They were just seeing the gospel through the wrong lens, their Jewish heritage, and it distorted everything. Paul spends Galatians 1:11–2:10 demolishing their claims one by one: his gospel came directly from Jesus, was confirmed by the Jerusalem apostles, and he’s the most Jewish person they could find, so trust him.
But Tim’s question is the harder one: what lenses are we wearing in 2026 that do the same thing? Politics, market success, middle-class comfort. The gospel gives us a new prescription — and we need each other to see it clearly.

No other gospel
2026/10/11
Paul doesn’t ease into it. No warm-up, no pleasantries; just astonishment. The Galatian churches he planted were deserting the gospel of grace and turning to something else. Paul’s response is as direct as it gets: if anyone preaches a different gospel, let them be under God’s curse.
It’s not arrogance. It’s because the gospel of grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone is the only lifeline God throws out — and when you tamper with it, lives are at stake.

Written on our hearts
2026/10/04
The Ten Commandments series is done. But before Soul Revival moves into Galatians, there's a question worth sitting with: if the law couldn't change us, what was it for?
In this bridge sermon from Jeremiah 31, Jai unpacks the new covenant; God's promise to stop writing his law on stone tablets and start writing it on hearts. The problem was never the content of the law. It was the location. And in Jesus, God moves it from outside us to inside us. Not I have to. I want to.

10. You shall not covet
2026/09/27
You shall not covet. It's the one commandment most of us feel pretty comfortable about, until you realise coveting isn't just about wanting a neighbour's donkey. It's the invisible sin running through our feeds, our shopping habits, our sense that we're always slightly behind where we should be.
This final message in the Ten Commandments series brings Exodus 20 and Philippians 4 together. Paul, writing from prison, says he has learned to be content in every circumstance. Not born content. Learned. Which means it's available to all of us. The secret isn't getting more. It's drinking from the right source.

09. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour
2026/09/20
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour. It's courtroom language, and it goes much further than lying. It's about twisting words, leaving out inconvenient details, gossip, slander, rash judgment, saying yes when you mean no, and holding others to a standard you don't keep yourself.
This message from Exodus 20 and Psalm 15 takes the ninth commandment to the heart, and then to Jesus, the faithful and true witness, who was condemned by false testimony so that the truth about us could be exchanged for the truth about him.

08. You shall not steal
2026/09/13
You shall not steal. Easy to tick off, most of us haven't stolen a car. But the eighth commandment reaches further than we'd like. Deceptive business practices, greed, wasteful misuse of what God has given us, gambling, hoarding. All of it falls under the same root problem: failing to trust that God provides.
This message from Exodus 20 and Matthew 6 takes the commandment into everyday life: apps, gambling, the things we accumulate, the stuff that crowds out Jesus, and makes a simple case: sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is turn it off.

07. You shall not commit adultery
2026/09/06
You shall not commit adultery. Some of us hear that and feel comfortable, that's not our struggle. Others hear it and feel the weight of something painful, something in the past or the present that's hard to carry.
This message from Matthew 5 and Exodus 20 takes the seventh commandment seriously without treating broken people carelessly. Adultery isn't just a physical act, Jesus traces it back to the heart, to the look, to the thought, to the thing that takes root long before any action follows. And God's design for marriage isn't a restriction on joy. It's protection of something he made beautiful.
The response: honour people, flee from temptation, and cling to Jesus.

05. Honour your father and your mother
2026/08/30
Honour your father and mother. On the surface, one of the easier commandments to tick off. But for many people, it's actually the hardest, especially when family is complicated, when parents aren't Christians, when authority has been abused, or when the wounds run deep.
And then Jesus makes it harder. In Luke 14, he says that anyone who doesn't hate their father and mother cannot be his disciple. What is going on?
This message from Exodus 20 and Luke 14 unpacks what honour actually means: not just obedience, but a heart posture, and how following Jesus reorders every relationship we have, putting them where they were always meant to be.

06. You shall not murder
2026/08/23
You shall not murder. Most of us read that and breathe easy, we've never killed anyone. But Jesus doesn't let us off that easily. In Matthew 5, he says that anger in the heart, contempt in the mouth, are the same root as the act itself.
This message takes the sixth commandment deeper than the act of violence, into the playground, the bus ride home, the group chat, and the staff room. Every person you encounter is made in the image of God, precious and not for sale. The question isn't just whether you've thrown a punch. It's whether the people who leave your orbit leave feeling honoured, valued, and taken seriously.

04. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy
2026/08/16
Most of us would answer the question "how are you going?" with "busy." Not rested. Never rested. And yet the fourth commandment is on God's gift of rest, built into the rhythm of creation itself.
This message from Mark 2 and Exodus 20 unpacks what it actually means to keep the Sabbath in a culture that can't switch off. Rest isn't a reward for finished work. It's an act of trust that God runs the world. And the rest Jesus offers goes deeper than a day off, it reaches the soul.

03. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God
2026/08/09
The third commandment: You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, is about more than language. It's about identity. In this message from Exodus 20 and Matthew 7, Ethan unpacks what it actually means to bear God's name: not just to say "Lord, Lord", but to live as someone who belongs to him.
Jesus' warning in Matthew 7 is confronting. Many will come on that day claiming to have prophesied and performed miracles in his name, and he will say plainly: I never knew you. The name means nothing without the relationship. And the relationship means nothing without submission to the King.

02. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything
2026/08/02
You probably don't have any statues of God in your lounge room. So the second commandment feels easy to tick off. But the real danger isn't carved images, it's the God we construct in our imagination. The comfortable version. The one who agrees with our lifestyle, supports our preferences, and never asks us to give up anything we love.
In this message from Exodus 20 and Colossians 1, Stu unpacks what it means to worship the real God rather than a plastic Jesus, and why Jesus himself is the only true image of the invisible God we were looking for.

01. You shall have no other gods before me
2026/07/26
The first commandment assumes something most of us don't think about: that we are already worshipping. Not that we should worship, or that we might, that we already are. The question has never been whether you have a god. It's always been which one.
In this message from Exodus 20 and Romans 1, Brayden Wall unpacks what it means to have no other gods before God, and why this commandment isn't restrictive but liberating. False gods don't just compete with God, they rule us. And true worship doesn't just replace them, it sets us free.

Why the Ten Commandments Matter
2026/07/19
Most of us know the Ten Commandments exist, less of us know why they matter. In this introduction to our new series, Stu Crawshaw takes us back to Moses' final sermon in Deuteronomy 4, and makes the case that the Ten Commandments are not a burden imposed by a distant, demanding God, but the shape of life for a people God has already saved.
Three things stand out: the law is Israel's wisdom before a watching world, God is known by his word not his image, and the law can't be forgotten without losing its power. And underneath all of it — the law is there to show us we can't keep it. Which means we need a saviour. Which means we need Jesus.
