Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
2026/09/14
They Daydreamcast bares it all. "It" being their love for Ratchet & Clank. In this episode Bro and Murph talk guns, big guns, and guns that transform once you've committed enough murder. Even before the main topic, Bro will talk some retro-inspired shooters and Murph enters the world of Tomb Raider spin-offs. Alien Hominid vs Metal Slug 3
2026/09/02
If you've been to an arcade, you know Metal Slug, and if you were on Newgrounds, you know Alien Hominid. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, meaning the early flash game scene of the 2000s was flatter than a plateau. Bro and Murph pit these two run-and-gunners head to see which does the ultra violent gonzo action slapstick schtick better. Who reigns supreme? SNK at the top of their game, or the scrappy animators from the interwebs trying to recreate what they love about Metal Slug? TIMESTAMPS 00:43 - The Most Put Off Head to Head. Star Fox 64
2026/07/10
This episode is a barrel roll of laughs and technical difficulties, but that won't stop the boys in the Satellite of Dreams from gushing about the oft-remade classic that is Star Fox 64. Combining short play times, punchy lightgun gameplay, and a branching narrative, Star Fox 64 remains one of THE games of the Nintendo 64 (and the 3DS, and the Wii U, and the Switch 2). Is there truly a secret sauce to this story of star furries? How much love does Brogan have for Bill, the dog? All this and more in the DDC episode on Star Fox 64 TIMESTAMPS 00:26 - The Coldest Open Watcha Playin' 02:30 - Ultimate Marvel Vs. From Russia With Love
2026/06/28
In the wake of 007: First Light, Brogan and Murph jump back to 2005 to experience the last time we were between Bonds and games had to make due. The solution for From Russia With Love was to go back to the OG martini shaker by recruiting Sir Sean Connery himself to reprise his favorite (and arguably best) performance as 007. Unfortunately, this also means that it's a 2005 video game adaptation of a 1960's spy film starring an 80 year-old man, creating one of the odder artifacts of the Bond franchise. TIMESTAMPS 00:28 - The Perfect Sean Connery Impersonation Watcha Playin' 02:35 - Mina the Hollower (2026) 16:04 - Mixtape (2026) 26:45 - Zero Parades for Dead Spies (2026) 35:39 - Dispatch(?) Days Gone
2026/06/21
Murph gets his freak on with guest host Stephen so he can finally talk about the best 7/10 AAA-Mid game: Days Gone. Once a showcloser for Sony's 2018 E3 showcase, Days Gone is already slipping from public consciousness. It's a crude, generic open-world zombie survival game about a sad white man...and yet there's something special about it (at least Murph thinks that). At very least it has the Sawmill Horde fight. TIMESTAMPS 00:41 - The Cold Open Watcha Playin' 03:09 - Marathon (2026) 18:55 - Echo Point Nova (2024) 27:10 - Titanium Court (2026) 38:20 - 007: First Light (2026) 51:00 - Tomb Raider Minute: Tomb Raider III (1998) Variety Minute 1:01:15 - AAA Open-World Games Game of the Week 1:23:25 - Days Gone (2019) 2:04:28 - Plugs & Farewells
Quake
2026/06/05
Daydreamcast is here to make your legs quake and make you go crazy. We drop into id Software's first 3D shooter following their success with DOOM. The name Quake is known far and wide in the annals of Boomer Shooterdom, but it's never enjoyed a contemporary revival like it's older siblings DOOM and Wolfenstein have. Is there a reason it's churning madness of speed, gothism, and explosions has been left behind? TIMESTAMPS 00:41 - BTW Daydreamcast passed 100 episodes Watcha Playin' 01:32 - Super Meatboy 3D (2026) 08:49 - Poke All Toads (2026) 11:46 - Jason Vorhees in Dead By Daylight (2026) 22:42 - Alex in Street Fighter 6 (2026) 33:03 - My Hero: Ultra Rumble (2023) 42:48 - Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (2021) 51:53 - Tomb Raider Minute: Tomb Raider II (1997) Variety Minute 1:03:30 - Modern Boomer Shooters Game of the Week 1:20:20 - Quake (1996) 1:53:57 - Plugs & Farewells
The Thing Video Game
2026/04/27
Murph's been acting a little funny since coming back from Antarctica (and not haha funny). Brogan decides to test his humanity by talking about The Thing video game from 2002. Yes, there is a game based on The Thing and it's the official sequel to the film as sanctioned by Gamer™ John Carpenter himself. Also being put under the microscope is the 2nd season of the Fallout TV show, Hades 2, and the introduction of the Tomb Raider Minute! TIMESTAMPS 00:41 - Is Murph a The Thing? Watcha Playin' 01:33 - Fallout Season 2(2025) 12:04 - Hades 2 (2025) 16:12 - Resident Evil 9: Requiem (2025) 22:51 - The Tomb Raider Minute: Tomb Raider 1 (1996) Variety Minute 36:18 - The Thing Film (1982) Game of the Week 55:15 - The Thing Game (2002) 1:20:03 - Plugs & Farewells
Mario Land 2 and the Top 6 Games of 2025
2026/04/11
Brogan is contacted by a mysterious entity originating from the South Pole. Murph is back and he wants to talk about Mario's second handheld adventure Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins. This charming platformer doesn't have many elements that stuck with the Mario franchise, but the most enduring is the introduction of Mario's evil doppleganger, Wario! How does the gassy game dev tycoon come across in his first outing? In lieu of a Variety Minute or Watcha Playin', Brogan and Murph discuss their Top 3 favorite games of 2025. TIMESTAMPS 00:30 - Murph is Back! TOP GAMES OF 2025 8:46 - Murph's #3 11:28 - Brogan's #3 15:35 - Murph's #2 20:45 - Brogan's #2 27:48 - Murph's #1 36:55 - Honorable Mentions 45:18 - Brogan's #1 Games of the Week 55:05 - Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins (1992) 1:20:05 - Plugs & Farewells?

Portal 1+2 Double Feature
2025/11/17
It's time to portal and chortle with the Daydreamcast as we look at the iconic duology of Portals 1 and 2. Both games set the internet on fire with their space-bending puzzles and lolrandom humor that formed the bedrock of 2010s meme culture and indie game design, eventually entering the hallowed halls of those "Greatest Games of All Time" lists. But which Portal portals superior? Is there something Murph would like us to know about Portal 2? Tune in an drop out with this double-caked up episode of the Daydreamcast! 1:15 - Murph caught COVID at PAX Watcha Playin' 03:50 - Silksong (2025) 12:25 - Firmament (2023) 24:00 -Riven Remake (2024) Variety Minute 42:50 - Narrative Puzzle Games Games of the Week 57:20 - Portal (2007) 1:16:00 - Portal 2 (2011) 1:48:30 - Plugs & Farewells
F.E.A.R (With Will Borger and Thomas Wilde)
2025/10/31
Brogan has been splattered into red paste on the wall and Murph doesn't know what to do about that so he calls in the Scream Team of Will and Thomas for the annual Halloween episode. This year we're leaving behind the tank controls and fixed cameras for visceral gunplay and bullet time as we look at F.E.A.R. A meticulous FPS left behind in the seventh generation that treads the line between John Woo action and Japanese-style horror. 0:33 - The Scream Team Returns! Double Feature: Diablo 1 and Symphony of the Night (with Brendan Hesse)
2025/10/29
Halloween season on the Daydreamcast kicks off with a late night double feature of occult action titles. The Crawling Man Brendan Hesse returns to talk about Diablo 1 and Symphony of the Night. Two games about battling the forces of hell with a arsenal of magic weapons are integral to the history of Video Games. While SotN went on to name an entire genre, Diablo 1 became largely overshadowed by it's successor. Do either of these titles deserve these legacies? Or are the nomenclatures and colloquialisms of gamer culture the scariest things of all?? 0:21 - Brendan's back and he's never read Goosebumps Watcha Playin' 01:42 - Final Fantasy Tactics - Ivalice Chronicles 27:30 - Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac (2025) 39:30 - OFF (2025) 45:30 - Baby Steps (2025) 55:45 - House of Necrosis (2025) Games of the Week 1:10:55 - Diablo (1997) 1:45:30 - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997) 2:42:15 - Plugs and Farewells
