In this episode we dive deep into Brandon's youth sports background, and how what seemed to be mistakes made as a youth athlete that may have impacted his ability to play at the next level, turned out for good and paved the path for his current coaching career. The impact he has on his soccer teams/players goes beyond the field, and as soccer parents, it was very encouraging and refreshing to hear Brandon's coaching priorities and how he truly values the future of each of his players on and off the field. We had the pleasure of attending the Top Tier 90+OT 4v4 Championship Sunday in Greenville, SC. While we were there we were able to have a conversation between the 3 Dads regarding the topics of what kids should/could be doing in the offseason, what does NIL look like in the future for youth sports, and how we feel about athletes going Pro as teenagers. Throughout this episode, we were able to do short interviews of youth athletes and parents at the competition and get their input on futsal league and youth sports. We had the pleasure of sitting down with one of Byrnes High School’s Lacrosse coaches, Tre Confer. Byrnes High School is a nationally renowned football program, and was one of the first high schools regularly aired on ESPN in the early 2000s. Tre and his fellow Lacrosse coaches at Byrnes are continuing to build the Byrnes brand of sports excellence with the Lacrosse program. Us 3 dads received a super great education of how the game of lacrosse is played, how its popularity is sweeping the nation, and the immense opportunities for athletes to play Lacrosse at the next level. We believe Tre is an excellent advocate for the sport of Lacrosse and the Byrnes High School program. We loved recording this episode, we hope y’all enjoy the show!

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Greenville, SC native Carlos Berrio; current CESA Academy coach and Iron X supplemental training coach . We dive deep into Carlos’s youth soccer experience growing up in Greenville, SC. We talk about the original two major soccer clubs in Greenville back in the early 2000s, GFC and St. Giles, and what the rivalry was like between those two clubs back then. We talk about the transition of the two clubs merging and creating the club we all know now as CESA. Carlos has a unique perspective of CESA as he was a player for the club when it first formed, and is now a tenured CESA coach for the majority of his adult life. We talk in depth about injury and the mental health side of injury and how to work through that. We talk in depth about parents role in their child’s youth sports development/experience. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Tom Morris, former D1 soccer player and one of the original coaches at CESA when the club first formed. Tom not only was one of the original Academy coaches, but also was one of the founders of the current Center of Excellence program at the club. Tom discusses in detail his youth sports experiences, and how he was able to use his experiences to help CESA create an environment focused on Development of not only soccer players, but development of young boys and girls with quality character. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Ryan Bilichuck, goalkeeper for the MLS team, the Portland Timbers. We dive deep into how the heck Ryan became a goalie, and how once he decided to be a goalie he dedicated all of his training toward becoming nothing less than a professional goalkeeper. Ryan's journey toward becoming a professional goalkeeper was full of obstacles that would have made most people quit their dream, but Ryan kept pushing through and didn't let the setbacks get in the way of his dreams. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Duncan Wilson, 2022-2023 South Carolina Gatorade high school soccer player of the year and current Clemson University Soccer Player. We dive deep into Duncan's youth sports experiences, and how those experiences paved the road toward being recruited to play soccer for the his dream school, the Clemson Tigers. Duncan talks about how the love of the game and building technical skills as a young player, helped him as he grew into his body as a teenager. Duncan stresses the importance of young players to have fun, but also to work hard to do their best at each stage of the game in order to achieve their dreams. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Mauldin High School Varsity women's head coach and Greenville Liberty assistant coach, Alison Stelling. In this episode we dive deep into Alison's background in youth sports, and how her experiences in youth sports led her to becoming the head coach at the power house soccer program, Mauldin High School. She talks about her philosophy regarding leadership and character, and how maintaining a focus on that is one of the big reasons why the program has sustained such high winning standard throughout her tenure. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Mike Walters, GM of Lloyd's Soccer store. Lloyd's is a staple in the South East sector of the United States Soccer scene. Lloyd's not only has 3 storefronts in the Upstate, Midlands, and Low Country of South Carolina, they also have an online presence that competes with some of the most well known soccer apparel sites in the world. Mike Walters is the GM of Lloyd's, and discusses the history behind the successful soccer store, and how it continues to flourish as the soccer scene in the United Sates continues to expand. We had the pleasure of sitting down with former NFL Defensive Back, DJ Moore. In this episode we dive deep into DJ's upbringing and how sports kept him out of trouble, ultimately leading him to the SEC via football scholarship and drafted by the Chicago Bears. We talked in depth about how God given talent can only take someone so far - it's how they choose to use that talent and cultivate it in and out of sport that brings an athlete to the next level. DJ talks about life after football, and the transition into being a full time teacher at Spartanburg High School and dad to 4 children. He talks about his views on the current youth sports scene, and what he is doing to help his children navigate to their fullest potentials. We had the privilege of sitting down with Tyler Beveridge, 15 year old soccer phenom out of Greenville, SC who is currently playing at Charlotte FC via MLS NEXT program. Tyler was able to bring his Dad with him to the podcast, which added a unique flavor to this episode to hear both sides of the soccer story from not only the players view, but also the parents viewpoint. This is an incredibly inspirational episode, and will really hit home with young athletes striving to reach the MLS NEXT level of play, and to their parents regarding advice on how to help your child achieve their dreams.
