Chihandae - The World Is Ours
2022/05/02
This is season 3’s special edition of the Storyzfromyhair Podcast. Special because I (the host of the podcast) have a book launch party on the 24th of April. In anticipation of the D-DAY, I took the time to chat with my Advanced Review Copy Readers About the book. Dorothie Ayebazibwe, Rachel Kizza, Dave Ndyanabo and Troy Durman sit me down for a heart to heart on writing generally and The World Is Ours.
It's always interesting for me to be on the side of the interviewee and I have had a marvellous time exploring what it means to pen this huge novel that spans three decades and is set in four different countries; matched with unlikely memorable characters.
I talk about the genesis of The World Is Ours; we delve into character development, setting, scenes, the motives, high points and low points of the book. If you have not read it and want to wait, then don't listen to the podcast till after the launch...but if you can't wait and are itching to eavesdrop on snippets of it just to whet your reading palette, by all means be our guest, listen in...the creative lounge is open!

A season of many firsts!
In this season of the Storyzfromyhair podcast, I interview several writers who are breaking in with their debut novels and also writers who have deviated from their usual storyline and are trying something new. Could it result from introspection from a year plagued with a contagious disease loosed on the world? Could it be a midlife crisis? Possibly a divorce or marriage or simply a need to try something new? Writers will tell us why and how their writing process took the turn it took in this exciting new season... coming soon!
