Linesight CMO On Marketing As A Synthesis of Science And Culture.

On this week's episode of Site Talk, Lynn and Tiffany are joined by Fiona D'Arcy, Group Chief Marketing Officer at Linesight.
Since 1974, Linesight has been a highly successful global cost and project management consultancy with industry-leading expertise, providing strategic support to multiple sectors around the world.
As Linesight's Group CMO, Fiona is an exemplar in her field. Fiona discusses with Lynn and Tiffany her passion for marketing as a synthesis of science and culture. Fiona places a strong emphasis on maintaining the creative aspects of marketing, but her approach is to use creativity to deliver scientific facts and information derived from data and metrics. She is a strong believer in ABX (Account-Based Experience) marketing and encourages her team to use a go-to-market strategy that leverages data and insights to orchestrate relevant, trusted marketing and sales actions across the Linesight B2B customer lifecycle. When developing strategies, Fiona reinforces to her team to go back to their "rocks," looking at the science to shape future business decisions.
Since the recording of this episode, Linesight has expanded its team to over 930 employees and has most recently been acquired by IPS, a large EPCMV (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management, and Validation) company with over 1,700 staff across 22 offices worldwide.

How One Cement Company is Leading the Sustainability Agenda

On this week's episode of Site Talk, Lynn is joined by Susan McGarry, Managing Director of Ecocem Ireland.
A chartered engineer, Susan has worked for Ecocem for nine years in a variety of roles, the most recent of which was European Sustainability Manager. Lynn caught up with Susan to discuss her passion for the environment and sustainability, her drive for a greener Construction industry and her advocacy for women in Engineering. Susan also talks us through how to encourage women to stay in the industry to create a more diverse workforce in the boardroom and her own struggles along the way. Susan is also passionate about removing the traditional stigma typically surrounding Construction for women. Alongside managing the Irish operation of the GGBS manufacturing company Susan is a guest-lecturer in Trinity College Dublin and TU Dublin and is also a qualified LEED Green Associate, something which she is keen to continue to raise the awareness of across Ireland.

Interiors and Architecture. United or Divided?

On this week's episode of Site Talk, Lynn is joined by Andreas Heil, Head of Design and Architecture at Sonica. Having started his career in Murray Ó'Laoire Architects, and then founding his own multi-award-winning practice, Innen Interior Architects, Andres joined the Sonica team at the onset of the COVID-19 lock-down.
Andreas discusses the misconception about the divide between Interiors and Architecture and the role of Interior Design in Construction. Andreas also takes us through his journey into Interior Architecture, and the growth of Sonica during a time of uncertainty. Andreas also gives us an insight into his design inspiration and how he harnesses his creativity in his current role at Sonica.
Andreas has been recognised for his contributions to Irish Interior Design with numerous awards and nominations for his work over the years, most notably being awarded “Fit-Out Designer of the Year” at the National Industry Awards in 2016.

Finally, Shane gives us an insight into the value of the Construction Industry Federation's new safety ambassador, Rory O'Connor of Rory's Stories and how he has helped to challenge the stigma surrounding men's mental health on building sites across Ireland.

The Rise of Virtual Construction

On today's episode, Lynn is joined by Joseph Mady, CEO and founder of Ireland's leading virtual design and digital construction consultancy, Digital Construction Technologies Group (DCT Group). Joseph takes us through his journey from humble beginnings as an electrician to leading Digital Construction experts in Ireland. With strategic locations across the world, Joseph has seen a sharp rise in the adoption of digital construction technologies since the global Covid-19 pandemic.
In their third year of business, DCT Group have been specified across European data centers, Pharmaceutical projects and large commercial and industrial developments. With his passion for BIM, Joseph is also involved in the Construction Industry Federation, Sub-Committee developing policies on digital technologies for their members. Alongside running a global business with teams across the world, Joseph is also helping to promote and educate future generations on BIM technologies through his involvement with TU Dublin. I think it is safe to say, Joseph is without doubt a BIM expert and leader in his field.

Lynn explores the world of architecture and interiors with leading architect Courtney McDonnell of Courtney McDonnell Studios. Taking the plunge into entrepreneurship and setting up Courtney McDonnell Studio, her studio focuses on creating contemporary solutions in Architecture, Interiors and Branding. With a keen eye for detail and working with some of Ireland's most well known contractors, Courtney shares an insight into her time in the industry, advice for her younger self starting out in the construction sector and trends to not pay heed to in the Architecture sector.
