Well… this was silly. (as usual) Great tunes were heard, illegible words were spoken, and a show was completed… we still don’t know how this all works (old man syndrome - mostly El Carpe's fault).  Tonight, we did a “reaction show” to tunes – from bands like Ride, Earl Greyhound, Hosier, Kosikk, Killing Joke and some others that may surprise you – Stone Roses and more… Eric and I enjoy chatting about tunes together – we hope you enjoy being a voyeur into our conversations about the music we like… one of these days we’ll be famous (not today, obviously) and Joe Rogan will wash our feet (obvious religious overtone intended). We're BAAAACCCKK in the saddle again... some famous band said that a while ago... but that's us baby ! New year - new craziness - same two old coots. Join us for the "What's The Heckels Were We Thinkin'" show - if you can guess what the theme was supposed to be - you're ahead of us... Turns out we had a show in the pipe and we talked about: Bad Liquor Pond, bnny, La Hell Gang, New Candys, Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound, Thee Oh Sees, The Warlocks, Levitation Room, The Spyrals, Froth, Moon Duo, The KVB, Allah-Las, The Spits, Elephant Stone, The Black AngelsTV, New Candys, Ghost Woman, and maybe more? we lost track... oh, and this talent at "Moonic Productions"... this kid rocks... We are under the mistaken impression this was a good start to a hopefully fun and crazy year ... to be determined. Thanks to both of our fans who regularly listen to us while doing menial tasks at home - we couldn't do it without you. Pour me another brother !

Hey Eric !  Pogue Mahone !  (listen in to see what I meant by that) - tonight we honor a talented disreputable drunk who made some amazing music - and touched lives, probably on accident, but did so anyway.  yes Shane MacGowan - lead singer of The Pogues.   Eric throws some unique new music my way - "The Mystery Lights", and others... made me go Wow - then throws "La Hell Gang" and others at me - good stuff !...    Then there's that crazy Cat Power chat... that gal has an awesome voice.   We have a "Cat Power - music battle" which works well for everyone exept those of you listening...     The Pogues... Tonight was another injustice to a great band... The Talking Heads !   We pretended to know many things, we did not.  But we sure did play some cool tunes from STOP MAKING SENSE which was/is an iconic music concert movie.  We forgot to say things like "this was very uniquely filmed" and "David Byrne's movements on stage were hypnotic" and stuff like that.  We DID acknowledge the amazing music.   Then we went off into the weeds (again) and discussed the Smiths, James, other bands and a variety of movies... so another potentially great show damaged by us actually talking to each other and having fun.   Both of our listeners who are not related to us, told us this show was almost moderately interesting.   Give it a listen and you be the judge.   Thanks for being part of our adventure in music !     Pour Me Another Brother !

Iconic Sounds... of the not-super-famous kind.  Tonight we stumble through a discussion about some really rockin' bands that maybe you haven't heard about.     The Cult with Ian Astbury (who also was lead vocals for The Doors revival band), The Black Keys - with two guys on stage put forth a massive wall of sound to kick ya in the pants, Rival Suns - another rockin' band which Eric has many good things to say about, and of course - The Black Crowes - who have a unique but comfortable sound that we can all get behind.   TOMMY B from Tennessee stops in to give us some energy... and crazy stories...    Scooter from The Beans and Weenies Show actually stopped by and hung out for a while (probably too long for his tastes)   Join us for a romp through some fun - music - silly conversation among friends... no one cried this time.  (I promise)   Also, no bagpipes were played in this show, no ears were damaged and there was a large pile of goofiness to be had by all.   Rock on... and Pour Me Another Brother ! BEN Harper !   we went to see him this week and was a great show !  Join us for a discussion about the concert, and hear us go off on a tangent that somehow relates to Ben Harper... we crazy man.   We stumbled upon "The Cush" from somewhere, and Volebeats (from Hamtramck)...    It was fun for us making this show for ya, hopefully the two of you who are not related to us who might listen all the way through will have as much fun as we did... but that's doubtful. Finally... these two buddies who love music get back together to chat about stuff... Peter Gabriel was in Detroit recently and El Carpe got to go - and the two of us are going to see the Volbeats open for Ben Harper next week...  will be an eclectic show !     We talk about great guitar work - started with Ben Harper, then Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen... then into the weeds with Merry Clayton & the Stones - gimmie shelter !      We give props to Playing for Change (great Charity) and many other emotion wrenching songs.   Join us for the silly.   We had a great time - hope you do too.      (support your local musicians whenever possible)

Well...you heard it folks. We defined todays ERA of music. I think. What is it? We showcased The Beatles, Queen, Ziggy, Prince, Madonna, ELO and a host of other bands that defined us...50 year olds. What defines music today? Has social media damaged todays ERA? Or has it allowed songwriters to be heard without identifying with an ERA? You decide. I like American Music...
