Dr. Mitchell looks at verses 10-13 of Philippians chapter 3 here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. The purpose of having the righteousness of Christ, by faith, is to know Christ. Jesus prays in John 17:3 ' that we may know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent'. And again in 1Jn 5:20 'the son of God has come and given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true…'. The Lord has made every provision for knowing Him, the only true God. Dr. Mitchell goes on to speak of Paul's attitude during this christian life in Christ, Phil. 3:10. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unchanging-word/message

Philippians chapter 3 verses 9 and 10 will be the focus of our study here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast with our teacher, Dr. John G. Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell will be looking at these two verses, examining our relationship to Christ and the purpose in it. It is amazing that the purpose of having the righteousness of Christ through faith is that we may know Him and power of His resurrection and fellowship of His sufferings becoming like Him. This is also the purpose of eternal life as Jesus prayed in John 17:3..that we may know Thee, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. Our study in Philippians resumes in chapter 3 with our teacher, Dr. John G. Mitchell. You are listening to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. The book of Philippians is a letter expressing the joy which Christians can experience. This is exemplified in the life of the Apostle Paul himself, who although imprisoned in Rome, said, 'Complete my joy', and 'Rejoice with me' and 'I rejoiced in the Lord greatly'. In another passage he exhorts us, 'Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice'. The Lord Jesus is the one in whom we can and should rejoice, is He not? He is the one who wraps us in His own righteousness so that we may know Him. In Philippians chapter 2 verses 17 through 30, we have 3 examples of servants who had the mind of Christ worked out through them. This is the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast with Dr. John G. Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell shares with us the three men through whom God worked out the mind of Christ. They are Paul himself, his son in the faith, Timothy and Epaphroditus, a brother and fellow soldier. These exemplified self sacrificial service to the Lord for the believers. Dr. Mitchell will ask us to pray that God will raise up a generation of believers who will seek the things of Christ rather than their own things. Can we do that? Our Father, we ask you to send out laborers with the gospel into your harvest in these days for Jesus' sake. Thank you, in Jesus' name. The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast continues in the book of Philippians. We are in chapter 2. Dr. Mitchell will be starting in verse 12 with a brief review from our previous lesson. Dr. Mitchell will be addressing the believer who may be dealing with their assurance of salvation. He makes the difference between the one who has a real living relationship with the savior and the one who merely has a veneer of salvation. It is God who is at work in us both to will and to do for His good pleasure. In the outworking of this God given salvation, the Apostle Paul writes that we are to do all things without grumbling or disputing. So no matter what our circumstance may be, let's be encouraged by Dr. Mitchell, Philippians chapter 2 verse 12. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unchanging-word/message

Dr. Mitchell speaks of our savior, in His utter humiliation to the point of death. He gives us a short overview of verses 5 thru 11. The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast is in Philippians chapter 2. Dr. Mitchell explains the working out of one's salvation not the working for that salvation. By grace we are saved through faith and that by-grace-thru-faith salvation is the gift of God it is not the work of man. The Apostle Paul in verses 12-16 makes application for the believer as to his attitude and action in the midst of this crooked and perverse generation. Dr. Mitchell speaks of Christ as our pattern.
