25 Years ago on April 8th, the self-titled debut album from Third Eye Blind was released.  The album was both a critical and commercial hit that still holds up after all these years!  Over time, the only original members of the group are controversial lead singer/founding member Stephan Jenkins and drummer Brad Hargreaves.  Last time I tackled their discography, a new album ("Our Bande Apart") came out a mere two weeks after that episode dropped.  Since then, I vowed to rectify this situation and give all their albums another listen.  Normally, I wouldn't bother going back and re-ranking.  But I realized as I was listening to their discography... One of the most successful platonic relationships (if not THE most successful) in music, Beach House has a habit of putting out albums that tend to induce relaxation by blocking out the negativity in the world with their dream-pop sound.  The duo has remained popular among critics and fans of alternative music for the last decade and a half.  With the release this year of their eighth album "Once Twice Melody" (An epic 80 minute album who has released albums that always FELT like epics), they achieved their first #1 album on the Billboard US Album charts.  And most likely going to end up placing very high on my year-end list.  The best description for their music: If you love Brian Wilson mixed with My Bloody Valentine and the feminine charms of girlinred and Mazzy Star, this is the band for you.  Tune in, lay back, and listen as I rank the discography of Beach House. What hasn't been said about this band for the last 6 decades?  Hands down, one of the biggest names in both Psychedelic and Progressive Rock is Pink Floyd.  With several albums hailed by critics as masterpieces, debates over which era was the best (Syd Barrett? Roger Waters? 2 EPISODES IN ONE WEEK???  That's the beauty of having musical acts with small discographies some days.  Controversy aside (From Kurt Cobain to just plain not keeping her mouth shut the last 2 decades), Courtney Love should be recognized as one of the most iconic female artists of all time as well as the leader of THE BEST female-fronted band in the history of Grunge music.  It's been a very dizzying history for Hole with lawsuits, tragedies, and total chaos! As I said at the beginning of the year, new rules will apply.  You will find that the nu-metal band from Minneapolis, MN has a very small discography.  FOUR albums total in their short career, to be exact!  While the band has been inactive since 2017, they continue to make an impact as far as being one of the most underrated and hardest in the genres of nu metal and industrial.  So which AHC album is their best?  Tune in and find out. Hope your Memorial Day was happy and safe.  Now back to the grind of daily life and another new Randumb Podcast! The metrosexuality of Duran Duran, the haunting synth of Depeche Mode, and the 'from-the-heart' lyrical prowess inspired by Springsteen, The Killers are one of the greatest American bands of the 21st century and one of my all-time favorite bands these last few years. After tackling some serious artists, I decided to have some fun this week.  Since 1997, Flogging Molly (like Dropkick Murphys and The Pogues before them) have introduced a new generation of music fans to the unique genre known as Celtic Punk.   25 years later, the band led by David King continue to put out awesome albums, hosted a successful annual cruise since 2015 and are one of the best live acts I've ever seen!  With only 6 albums under their belt (and a new single that dropped earlier this year), one must ask... what is their best album?  Grab a pint and rock out with your shamrock out for I, B.C., will be ranking Flogging Molly's discography from worst to best. In 1999, when music critic Daniel Durchholz described what the voice of this week's artist sounded like to new ears, it was lovingly described as "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car."  But BY GOD, 5 decades and 17 albums later, he is one of the most beloved songwriters/storytellers in American Music!  I know for some his voice is most definitely an acquired taste, it's the lyrics and the emotion he gives in each song that makes him so powerful to this day.  It even got him inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 (deservedly so).  But WHAT IS Tom Waits' best album?  With 17 of them under the belt of the Pomona, California native, everyone has an opinion.  But if you want to know my opinion on his discography, tune in this week to find out.  I should give you a heads up, this will be a very controversial ending!
