What happens when music becomes more than entertainment—it becomes purpose, culture, storytelling, and legacy? On Episode #2 of LiveLifeBHappy24/7 (UN-PLUGD), host JonVA Ven goes beyond the music with internationally recognized songwriter, lyricist, producer, and reggae artist AKUSTIX. AKUSTIX opens up about his musical journey, his family's deep musical roots, the people and experiences that shaped his artistry, and the legacy that continues to influence his work. The conversation also explores his JUNO Award-nominated song “Mandela” and his highly anticipated new single “People’s President,” created in collaboration with renowned guitarist and producer Eugene Grey. But this conversation goes deeper. JonVA and AKUSTIX explore the power of conscious reggae, cultural storytelling, unity, hope, and social responsibility, while also examining an increasingly important issue for today's independent creators: knowing your rights. Through his affiliation with the Creator Rights Movement, AKUSTIX discusses ownership, masters, publishing, copyrights, intellectual property, and why artists need to understand the business behind the music. From music and message to family, legacy, and creator rights, this is an intimate conversation about the artist behind the record—and the importance of protecting the creator behind the art. The Music. The Message. The Legacy. The Movement. Go UN-PLUGD with AKUSTIX & JonVA Ven.
