Finish the Good Work | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/08/12
This is not a farewell sermon. It’s a sending one. In Philippians 1, Paul writes from prison to a church he loves...with joy, with confidence, with a prayer that their love would abound more and more. His confidence isn’t in their ability to hold things together. It’s in the God who began a good work in them and will carry it to completion. Today we close a chapter at Lantana Community Church. But we do it the same way we’ve done everything this summer, by following Jesus forward. We’re inviting you to receive your commissioning… and come to the table.
Keep Walking | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/08/12
What if the way you continue in Christ is the same way you began… by grace, not effort? In Colossians 2, Paul draws a direct line between how we received Christ and how we keep walking in him. Not: try harder. Not: generate something new. Just… keep walking. The same way you started. He gives us four pictures of what that looks like: rooted, built up, strengthened, overflowing. Each one a different angle on the same truth. You don’t graduate from dependence on Christ. You deepen into it. This week we’re inviting you to stop waiting for things to settle… and keep walking.

When God Leads Us Forward | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/07/21
Today we turn to a passage that speaks directly into where we are as a church family. In Joshua 1, God’s people are standing at the edge of a new chapter they didn’t fully choose. Moses is gone. The road ahead is unknown. And God doesn’t promise them a replacement or a strategy… He promises them His presence. “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.” We’ve been saying all summer that we weren’t given a map… we were given a Guide. Today we discovered that the Guide doesn’t leave when circumstances change. He leads us forward. And He is not done with Lantana Community Church.

Led By the Spirit | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/07/07
Two good plans. Two closed doors. No explanation. In Acts 16, Paul tries to take the gospel to Asia, the Spirit says no. He tries Bithynia, the Spirit says no again. He ends up at the edge of the sea with nowhere obvious left to go. And that’s when the guidance finally comes… not as a map, but as a face. A man from Macedonia asking for help. This week in Walking with God Into the Unknown, we’re learning something important about the Guide: He doesn’t always explain His no’s. The silence isn’t absence. The no might not be never… it might be not yet. And the faithful thing is to keep walking.
Walking with God | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/07/01
What do we do when we can’t see what’s next? Most of us want a map… certainty, a plan, answers. But God rarely gives the map first. He gives Himself first. In Galatians 5, Paul doesn’t tell a struggling church to try harder. He tells them to walk… to keep in step with the Spirit. Not achieve the list. Not arrive. Just stay close enough to move when He moves. This week we’re beginning a new season called Walking with God Into the Unknown. We’re inviting you to discover that we weren’t given a map… we were given a Guide.
The Slow Work of Formation | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/06/24
Most of us aren’t losing faith because of doubt. We’re losing heart because of pace. We want transformation to happen faster than it does. We want the prayer that changes everything, the sermon that breaks it open. And when growth feels slow… we wonder if anything is happening at all. In Mark 4, Jesus tells a parable about a farmer who scatters seed, goes to sleep, and wakes up to find it growing...though he doesn’t know how. This week we’re closing the first half of "Following Jesus in Real Life" with the question the whole series has been building toward. We’re inviting you to trust that what God begins… He finishes.
When Love Interrupts You | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/06/16
We’ve been in the story of the Good Samaritan before. Last year we asked what mercy looks like. This year we’re asking something harder: what gets in the way? The priest and Levite weren’t monsters. They were busy. They had somewhere to be. And maybe that’s the most uncomfortable thing about this parable… most of us understand them. In Luke 10, the hidden villain isn’t bad theology. It’s urgency. And the Samaritan’s greatest act wasn’t what he did, it’s that he stopped. This week in "Following Jesus in Real Life," we’re inviting you to consider that love requires us to be interruptible… and that the interruptions we keep avoiding might be exactly where God is waiting.
Faithful in Small Things | Pastor Calvary Callender
2026/06/08
We want faith to feel like a firework. Dramatic. Visible. Significant. But Jesus keeps pointing somewhere else… at the small thing. The ordinary act. The quiet obedience nobody applauds. Luke 16:10 offers a principle that reframes the whole Christian life: whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. Small faithfulness isn’t the waiting room until the real thing begins. It is the real thing. It’s where character gets built. This week in Following Jesus in Real Life, we’re inviting you to stop asking what the big thing is…and start asking what the next faithful thing is.
