Description

DJ Heff is a veteran DJ in every sense of the word veteran. Not only has he been spinning records for over thirty years. He’s also a United States Air Force vet. DJ Heff was born in Plainfield New Jersey to Barbadian parents. Through his mother’s fondness for music and her house parties DJ Heff also grew a love for music. He plays Soca, Calypso, Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop and much more. DJ Heff’s earliest recollection of spinning tunes was as a child at the now defunct Black Ovations record store in Plainfield NJ. He was part of his first DJ group with his friends in high school. They were called International Sounds or the Internationals for short. DJ Heff stopped playing professionally to pursue a career in the Air Force. The music never left him. While he was preparing to go to Iraq DJ Heff was also interning at a commercial radio station in Tampa Florida. After returning from the war he was hired by 95.7 The Beat. He worked there for almost 5 years. DJ Heff is a very accomplished DJ. He’s played corporate events such as the National Association of Black Journalist pool party. He’s also spun at weddings for TV and broadcast personalities such as newscaster Tammie Fields. DJ Heff has also played after parties for entertainers Chante Moore and Kenny Lattimore. He’s also played at events for the Ruff Ryder’s Tampa chapter and the Union of Black Episcopalians.

Through the Phone
2026/09/13
“Through the Phone” is a nostalgic ’90s-inspired R&B slow jam about loving someone when miles stand between you. Late-night calls, empty beds, old memories, and promises of being together again tell the story of two people refusing to let distance decide their future. Smooth harmonies, warm keys, a deep slow-jam groove, and soulful male vocals bring back that classic era when R&B was about vulnerability, romance, and real emotion. Sometimes love doesn’t fade with distance… it just learns how to travel. ❤️☎️
Right On Time (Nicola)
2026/09/13
“Right On Time (Nicola)” is a grown-folks neo-soul love story about realizing that sometimes your forever has been standing beside you all along. After 25 years of friendship, love finally found its moment. Ten years later, that friendship has grown into something deeper, stronger, and built to last. With warm Rhodes, a deep-pocket live groove, gospel-soaked harmonies, and a gritty, heartfelt male soul vocal, “Right On Time” celebrates a love that was never late—it arrived exactly when it was supposed to. This is for the ones who learned that real love doesn’t always begin with fireworks. Sometimes it starts with friendship, grows through life, and becomes forever. 25 years of friendship. 10 years of love. And still right on time. ❤️
Number Two (Choices)
2026/09/13
“Number 2” is a late-night Neo-Soul / Trap-Soul confession about falling for someone you knew could never completely be yours. It explores forbidden love, temptation, regret, and the painful realization that sometimes heartbreak isn't something that happens to us—it's something we knowingly walk into. Over dark, atmospheric R&B production, off-kilter percussion, deep bass, haunting textures, and vulnerable vocals, the story follows a man who accepts the hardest truth: he knew where he stood from the beginning, but his heart convinced him to stay anyway. “I now realize it was my fault… because I chose to be number two.” For anybody who's ever loved the right person in the wrong situation. 🎧 Best experienced late at night, headphones on.
Somewhere We Can Breathe
2026/09/13
Sometimes love doesn’t need another vacation—it just needs a little room to breathe. “Somewhere We Can Breathe” is a grown-folks neo-soul record about being tired of the bills, bad news, work, responsibilities, phones, pressure, and everything else that follows you home. In the middle of all that noise, two people realize they miss the simple things: talking all night, slow dancing in the kitchen, touching without rushing, laughing for no reason, and simply enjoying each other. Built around lush chords, warm bass, live-feeling drums, rich harmonies, and a powerful gritty soul vocal, the track blends classic soul emotion with a modern neo-soul atmosphere. It’s not about running away from life. It’s about shutting the world out long enough to remember why you chose each other. Less noise. More us.
Still I Stand
2026/09/13
“Still I Stand” is a raw Neo-Soul/Trap-Soul anthem about the weight a Black man carries while trying to remain strong for the people who depend on him. Behind the strength are bills, pressure, sleepless nights, uncertainty, and struggles he rarely talks about—but giving up isn’t an option. Driven by warm Rhodes, deep 808s, soulful harmonies, and a gritty, church-bred vocal performance, the song speaks to fathers, husbands, providers, and every man quietly fighting battles while still showing up for his family. The pressure is heavy. The road is rough. But still… I stand.
Weekend With My People
2026/09/13
Weekend With My People is a feel-good Neo-Soul and Go-Go groove celebrating what really makes the weekend special—family, friends, children, elders, good food, laughter and time together. Driven by rolling congas, rototoms, cowbells, funky bass and a deep live pocket, the track captures that backyard cookout energy where every generation has a seat at the table. No pressure. No fancy plans. Just good music, good people and memories being made. 🎶 From the babies to the elders, everybody got a seat.
Closer Tonight
2026/09/13
“Closer Tonight” is a grown-folks Neo-Soul/R&B slow jam built around desire, vulnerability, and the kind of intimacy that doesn’t need to be explained. It’s a man’s direct but tender plea to the woman he loves—no games, no slick lines, just an invitation to shut out the world and get a little closer. Sultry falsetto vocals float over gospel-infused harmonies, warm Rhodes, Hammond organ, melodic bass, and a loose behind-the-beat groove that gives the record its hypnotic late-night pocket. Church-bred harmony stacks meet grown-and-sexy R&B for a sound that feels intimate, soulful, and unapologetically mature. 🎧 Best experienced after dark.
They Never Had to Choose
2026/09/13
“They Never Had to Choose” is a raw, grown-folks Neo-Soul record about what fatherhood looks like when relationships change but responsibility doesn’t. It tells the story of a father navigating a difficult relationship with the mother of his children, swallowing his pride, making sacrifices, and refusing to let adult problems become his children’s burden. Even as life moves forward—remarriage, a new home, and a growing family—his commitment remains the same. Different homes. Different chapters. Same father. Same love. At its heart is one simple promise: Whatever happened between the adults, the children would never have to choose sides. Built around gritty Neo-Soul production, warm Rhodes, deep bass, live drums, Hammond organ, and a raw, emotional vocal performance, this is for every father who kept showing up—even when showing up wasn't easy. “I don’t have old children and new children. I just have my children.”
He Carried Me
2026/09/07
HE CARRIED ME 🙏🏾 There were roads I didn’t think I could finish. Storms I thought would break me. Nights when I had nothing left to give. But when my strength ran out, His grace didn’t. “He Carried Me” is a soulful gospel testimony about surviving the valley, making it through the storm, and looking back knowing you didn’t get there by yourself. I may have walked through it… but God carried me. For everyone who has ever whispered, “Lord, I don’t know how I made it.” This one is for you.
I Belong To You Lord

It’s a reminder that even when we wander, God’s grace keeps calling us home. 🙏🏾 “Mind, body and soul… every broken piece, You made me whole.” Turn it up, let it minister to you, and share it with somebody who needs to remember who they belong to.
Grace Brought Me Home
2026/09/07
“Grace Brought Me Home” is a soulful 90s-inspired neo-soul gospel duet about finding your way back when life has taken you off course. Driven by warm Rhodes keys, live bass, soulful horns, Hammond organ, and the power of a church choir, the male and female vocals trade testimony before coming together with one message: we didn’t make it on our own—grace brought us home. For anybody who’s ever been lost, tired, broken, or unsure of the way forward, this one is a reminder that grace can still find you. 🙏🏾 🎶 90s Neo-Soul × Gospel Soul 🎺 Live Horns | Rhodes | Hammond Organ | Choir ❤️ Soulful Male & Female Duet “I couldn’t see my way, but You made a way.”
STILL TEN!
2026/09/06
STILL TEN is a modern street-gospel anthem about trying to walk right in a world that keeps changing the rules. Temptation looks different. The pressure is louder. Money, social media, relationships, pride, envy, and the need to fit in can pull us in every direction. But through it all, God’s standard remains. Built around a hard-hitting tresillo/triplet groove, deep 808s, soulful gospel vocals, Hammond organ, and a powerful church choir, “Still Ten” brings an old truth into a modern sound. The message is simple: The world changed. The Word didn’t. When everybody else bends, will you still stand? STILL TEN. 🙏🏾🔥
