There's been plenty of news coming out of the rugby world this week - with several rule changes announced for the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific season, all intended to help speed the game up and keep the ball in play for longer. The Rugby World Cup draw was also released yesterday and fans were stunned to learn a clash between the All Blacks and the Wallabies will not be opening the tournament. There has been another development in the story as to who could take the reins as the All Blacks coach heading into the 2027 Rugby World Cup, this time with two familiar names to rugby fans all over New Zealand. The NZ Herald understands that Sir Steve Hansen and Ian Foster have been approached by New Zealand Rugby to see if they would be interested in applying for the All Blacks head coaching role. On Friday, Breakers legend Tom Abercrombie will be getting his jersey number 10 lifted up into the rafters to acknowledge his service to the club over his storied career.
