The Third Half (Tuesday, 28th June 2022)
2022/06/27
Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon look back at Saturday's games at MW Hire O'Moore Park, Portlaoise in the TG4 All-Ireland senior football championship. Schedule: 0:00 - Championship Round-Up 22:20 - Dublin 1-14 Mayo 0-7 43:40 - Cork 2-10 Waterford 1-5 The big names started coming to the front in the TG4 intermediate championship as the semi-finals became known; London shocked Carlow but not enough to reach the final four of the TG4 Junior championship; while Tipperary avoid the relegation play-offs with a win over Cavan. We look back at Dublin's win over Mayo in Portlaoise.  Jennifer Dunne was superb with a strong supporting cast led by Caoimhe O'Connor.  Dublin looked strong and hungry for victory but did Mayo believe they could get a result? Then it's Cork against Waterford.  Doireann O'Sullivan led the Rebellettes to victory with 1-7 while Libby Coppinger also found the net.  But the Deise put it up to them with the wind before drawing a blank in the second half, and ultimately crashed out of the championship. == THE THIRD HALF broadcasts every Monday on sportsdaz.ie, when they are LIVE matches on TV. Darren Kelly and Killian Whelan present the magazine show looking at the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Championships. Schedule: 0:00 - Latest News 27:15 - Preview - Limerick vs Down 45:15 - Preview - Antrim vs Galway Darren and Killian discuss the game's latest talking points including more chat on the hurling/camogie clash in Clare last week, venues have been confirmed for the All-Ireland senior and intermediate knockout stages, and we look at the state of play in the intermediate and premier junior championships. Our first featured game takes us to Cappamore (Saturday 4pm) as Limerick and Down meet in their own battle of survival.  The Shannonsiders finally got a victory this year against Offaly two weeks ago and another will put them in a strong position.  Down need a win to stay in quarter-final contention and that priceless point against Antrim in Round 2 could be key. Then it's off to Dunloy (Saturday 4pm) for the intriguing clash between last year's All-Ireland intermediate and senior champions as Antrim entertain Galway.  The Saffrons put in a good shift against Kilkenny only going down by six points and will look for something similiar here.  The Tribeswomen dismissed Down the last day and have three wins from three but this is certainly their stiffest test so far. == SPORTSDAZ CAMOGIE broadcasts every Thursday on sportsdaz.ie Theme Song (c) josephmcdade.com/music #SportsDaz

Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon present the magazine show looking at the TG4 All-Ireland Championships. Schedule: 0:00 - Review - Cork 2-12 Donegal 1-10 34:55 - Karen Guthrie (Donegal) 38:10 - Preview - Cork vs Waterford 57:10 - Doireann O'Sullivan (Cork) 1:00:00 - Senior & Intermediate Round-Up inc. Armagh vs Monaghan We review a third game from Round 2 of the TG4 All-Ireland senior football championship last weekend.  Cork beat Donegal by five points but could all three goals have been avoided; did Donegal get their match-ups right at the start; how influential were refereeing decisions in the second period; and how did Cork let their opponents back into this? We get post-match reaction from Karen Guthrie and Doireann O'Sullivan, and preview this week's clash of Cork and Waterford in the final round in Group D.  Waterford must win, Donegal can't afford that scenario, while victory for Cork will secure top spot.  They've met multiple times recently with the Rebelettes coming out on top but do the Deise have a chance to turn their fortunes around? As well as running through the other games in the senior championship plus the TG4 intermediate quarter-finals, we take a look at Armagh against Monaghan.  The Orchard have enjoyed the upper hand with significant wins and a 15+ point winning margin will see them top Group B.  But have the Farney women just lost too many players to make the victory that will secure a quarter-final spot possible? 2022/06/20
Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon review the live TG4 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship games from Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Longford on Sunday. Schedule: 0:00 - Latest News 19:10 - Armagh 0-9 Meath 0-9 42:10 - Mayo 0-16 Cavan 2-9 (15) Among the news items are Armagh's Kelly Mallon winning Croke Park/LGFA player of the month for May; Cora Staunton and Brid Stack are heading back to Australia with Greater Western Sydney Giants; a run through of all the results; and could the GAA have avoided clashing with Cavan's LGFA match against Mayo. We start with the All-Ireland champions Meath and their comeback against Armagh.  Could have a few yellow cards have been shown?  They're definitely was talking points.  A tight physical battle where defences gave away nothing easy, we still were treated to some breathtaking scores by both teams. And we look back at Cavan's stunning comeback against Mayo and how the Connacht side held their nerve to get the winner.  Despite missing many big names, the green and red did a lot of good things but how did they let an eight-point slip?  And how did Cavan give them a head start in the first place? == THE THIRD HALF broadcasts every Tuesday when there are LIVE matches on television Theme Song (c) josephmcdade.com/music #SportsDaz

Darren Kelly & Killian Whelan present the magazine show looking at the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship Schedule: 0:00 - Latest News 21:10 - Preview - Wexford vs Tipperary 39:55 - Preview - Clare vs Dublin We look back at all the main talking points over the last week.  Clare are not happy about playing Saturday with their hurlers in Thurles, Wexford are on the search for a new chairperson, cruciate injuries take out the Doyle sisters in Kilkenny and we look back at last week's action in the senior championship. The first of our featured games this is the must-win clash of Wexford and Tipperary on Saturday (2pm Bellefield, Enniscorthy).  How good were Wexford after their win over Clare?  Can Bill Mullaney inspire his Tipperary charges again?  The loser of this game could be out of the championship. And the same can be said for our second fixture as Clare host Dublin the same day (5pm Cusack Park).  The Banner have just one point from three games but there is a pathway to the quarter-finals.  In contrast, Dublin are coming in under the radar and sit quietly in third place ready to pounce. == SPORTSDAZ CAMOGIE broadcasts every Thursday on sportsdaz.ie Cover Photo (c) Hannah Shields - Clonduff camogie club Theme Song (c) josephmcdade.com/music #SportsDaz
The Third Half (Wednesday, 15th June 2022)
2022/06/15
Darren Kelly & Niamh Kindlon look back on last Saturday's TG4 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship games from St. Brendan's Park, Birr. A very special episode as this is our.... 300TH SHOW!!!! Schedule: 0:00 - Latest News 25:25 - Anna Galvin (Kerry football captain) 37:45 - Review - Kerry 3-10 Galway 3-8 59:00 - Review - Donegal 0-10 Waterford 1-5 There's been plenty to chat about over the last week in football including two more big names heading to Australia, Meath manager Eamonn Murray unhappy with Monaghan, the intermediate championship keeps giving with more suprises and stunning results and much more. Kerry football captain Anna Galvin joins us to chat about their victory over Galway, the work put in behind the scenes over the last three years, the confidence gained from getting one over their rivals, the possibilities ahead and why she doesn't mind travelling from Dublin to Kerry each week. We look back at Kerry's win over Galway.  The Tribeswomen had a goal disallowed and should video technology be allowed to make that call?  The ticking system led to two late Kerry yellow cards and could have been costly.  Is that outdated?  And while both have plenty to work on, the Kingdom looked to have put in that bit more and were deserving winners. Finally, it's the turn of Donegal and Waterford.  Not the best game of football we'll see all year but conditions didn't help either.  The Deise will be kicking themselves with the chances they wasted but the Tir Conaill women showed grit to get the job done.  There were yellow cards, phantom frees and a missed penalty among others to discuss. == THE THIRD HALF will return to Tuesdays next week and broadcast any week there's live games on television. SPORTSDAZ FOOTBALL broadcasts Friday this week but returns to Wednesdays afterwards. Theme Song (c) josephmcdade.com/music #SportsDaz
