Description

A cricketing podcast where we digest and dissect the happenings of professional cricket, and, more importantly, the glories and tribulations of the casual cricketer. We also try and have a bit of fun and a laugh whilst we do so, allowing our love of cricket and self-obsessive tendencies to be harmonised by every millennial’s insatiable desire to voice their opinion publicly and regularly to the smallest of audiences.

Season's Beatings
2022/01/18
In the season finale, we pick apart the carcass of England's disastrous Ashes tour Down Under. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, we solve England's red ball issues in the second part of the show, putting Jonny Muir in pole position for the new Director of Cricket role at the ECB. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without reviewing the SA vs India series and Virat Kohli's ride into the Indian sunset. Thanks for sticking with us and we'll see you in the summer.
New Year, New England?
2022/01/11
The turn of the year brings a turn of fortunes for English cricket as we discuss the Great Escape at Sydney, including Jonny Bairstow's sensational century, and the Return of the Khawaja. The Asking Rate sees a sudden death quiz-off for the first time, and we cast our eyes further afield in the world of cricket, exposing a few knowledge gaps in the process.  As always, please don't forget to rate and review the pod - it really does help.
The 2022 CRAFTAs
2022/01/04
The Full Tossers annual cricketing awards ceremony is back. We kick-off the new year by looking back on the good, the bad, and the ugly of the 2021 international cricket season.  From the highlights to the lowlights, we have deserved winners from across a range of categories that the BAFTA red carpet would be envious of.  If you're here for an Ashes debrief, try The Grade Cricket instead. Up the '22.
The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come
2021/12/24
We try and banish the demons from our day/night thrashing in Adelaide, searching for some morsels of comfort amidst the debris of the Ashes. However, it doesn't stop excitement for the Boxing Day test reaching fever pitch, with Full Tossers putting together a festive wish list for the England side to rescue respectability in the series.  As ever, we're keeping up with The Asking Rate, testing our powers of recall for previous cricketing incarnations of Sports Personality of the Year. Thanks for joining us throughout 2021 and we'll see you in the new year!
Slaughter at the Gabbatoir
2021/12/15
We pick the bones out of the ruins from the first Ashes test, including Burns' twinkle toes, Hazlewood's twanged side, and the return of the fearsome Aussie tash. We assist Chris Silverwood with selection for the second Ashes test, delve into the Warney/Starc ding donging, and set our excitement for day/night cricket at fever pitch.  Of course, we even make time for some Asking Rate, guessing every English opener of the millennium, leading to Jonny making arguably the worst guess in Asking Rate history on his debut.
Ashes-mas Eve - with Dan Norcross
2021/12/06
Tim Paine's texting indiscretions. Can a fast bowler really be a captain? Could La Nina win us the Ashes? It's all on this week's agenda before we're joined by Dan Norcross from TMS in a hilarious interview that covers what to eat when pulling an Ashes all-nighter, the origins of Test Match Sofa, and the worst Christmas presents he's ever received. We can't wait to get him to the Gabba.
T20 World Cup Review
2021/11/22
We exercise the demons of Australia winning the T20 World Cup, round-up the tournament as a whole, and pick our combined team of the tournament. As ever, we're back with Asking Rate with the most sixes hit in IT20s as the latest brain teaser for Sam and George.
Black Cap Bullies - with Nick Friend
2021/11/10
We preview England's semi-final with the Black Caps, with all the fate-tempting arrogance and bombast that will likely come back to bite us in the bum. However, we're saved by a match-winning contribution from The Cricketer journalist Nick Friend to take us through the data takeover of the modern game, exploring behind the scenes of associate cricket, and the brilliant work of the ACE Programme led by Ebony Rainford-Brent.  Tuck in you hungry badgers, it's a feast of cricketing nourishment!
The Universe Jos
2021/11/03
Jos Buttler - the modern day genius at the peak of his powers. The Full Tossers debate whether he's the best white ball player these shores have ever produced, explore what's going wrong with Team India, and nervously anticipate who England might face in the T20 World Cup knockouts as we continue our quest for the double. This week's Asking Rate sees us recall the Test Match grounds across the world, from Malahide to Melbourne in another test of cricket badgery.
World T20 Review and the Return of the King
2021/10/27
Does Ben Stokes' return mean England will regain the Ashes?  Are Pakistan entering beast mode and becoming unbeatable? Is Ryan Sidebottom a world-class seamer? The questions on everyone's lips and you've come to the place where they're answered. We round-up the first week of the T20 World Cup, discuss which game was Dr Watson's Ding Dong of the Week (returning by popular demand), explore why Ben Stokes' return means sleepless nights for Tim Paine, and introduce a new quizzing game - the Asking Rate.
The Second Innings
2021/10/22
After a brief summer hiatus, Full Tossers is back and it's bigger than ever. New additions to the hosting line-up, Jonny Muir and Sam Watson immediately settle into their innings, solving the problems with county cricket, as well as England's T20 selection headaches ahead of the World Cup. We even find time to pick a side worthy of saving earth against the Martians - you can thank us later.  It's got dingers, it's got rockets, it's got disagreements. What more could a badger possibly want?
Past, Present, and Future - with Angus Wilson
2021/06/30
This episode we sit down with the brains behind the Twenty-Two Yards social channels, Angus Wilson, who's on a mission to put the cool in cricket, appreciate the aesthetic beauty, and share the untold tales of the game we love. Will and I also discuss the merry-go-round of the International circuit, the woes facing Sri Lankan cricket with recent events in Durham, and look ahead towards an exciting summer of Hundred and Test cricket.  Check out the great work of Twenty-Two Yards: Instagram: @twentytwoyards Twitter: @twentytwo_yards Website: twentytwoyards.co.uk
