Description

Recently selected by FeedSpot as one of 15 top Music Therapy Podcasts available. I create pieces of music and combine them with my words to bring listeners a greater sense of well being. Each episode addresses an emotional need or challenge. I like to think of them as 'micro-therapy' as they are all around 10 minutes or so, yet the vibrations of the music work efficiently to move the body and mind into a grounded place. I've been on my own journey of healing throughout my adult life, and I've discovered that composing these are healing and guiding for me personally. I like offering them out to anyone who could respond to their benefits. Every episode is different and may evoke a different emotional response. Seek out the ones that work for you when you need them. Guided Harmonies is the combination of original words put to therapeutic music, all written and created by me: Margaret Dahlberg. I also offer personal music, created for clients specific emotional needs: guidedharmonies.com

Feeling Compassion
2026/09/25
Send us Fan Mail I used to think that feeling compassion meant allowing another person to feel. Of course it does, but it is also saying yes to feeling whatever comes up for you when you are watching others struggle. I am discovering that I can feel my own sense of sadness and pain when I watch my loved ones struggle. So I wrote a new song to create a safe environment for everybody's feelings.
Blossoming Surrender
2026/09/16
Send us Fan Mail Focus: relaxation. In order to surrender, we need to have blossomed on a personal level, allowing ourselves to accept exactly who are are right now. And, we hope that the roots we have established will keep us safe as we do.
Floating Reprise
2026/09/10
Send us Fan Mail Focus: Relax, surrender and trust. This is all about relaxation! With the season change and my busy career amping up, I have been craving an episode that simply calms. Floating is one of my all-time favourite songs. It was written as part of my Covid Recovery album. Now, I have created a timeless episode that will not mention current events and can be listened to ANY time to soothe and relax.
Precious Vibrancy
2026/07/14
Send us Fan Mail Focus: Finding positivity & coping methods; How do we keep our own precious energy both contained AND contributing? This week's episode is about giving and receiving instead of giving ourselves away. It is also about learning to embrace our gifts and allowing those gifts to create momentum in our lives instead of pushing or forcing. With therapeutic music, you can just lie back and then the music work with your brain to feel better in fewer than 15 minutes.
Soaring Onward
2026/06/24
Send us Fan Mail Focus: Self-acceptance, letting go. This episode is about seeking acceptance and understanding for all that is and finding the presence to move forward, one step at a time. It comes from a place of needing to let go of the things we may attach to our identity and tend to hang onto so tightly. Take a short time to treat yourself to some relaxation today.
Simply Seeking Wellness
2026/06/19
Send us Fan Mail Focus: grounding, relaxation. How do we balance accepting all that is while recognizing there are changes that need to be made to encourage healing? This episodes songs were written for people who had healing to do and found their way forward. Sit back, relax and let your brain work with the music while you tune in.
Hidden Metamorphosis
2026/06/03
Send us Fan Mail Focus: accepting what is. Why do we seek change? It can be hard to recognize the difference between changes that would be nice versus changes that are needed. Sometimes all we need is to simply accept the flaws and imperfections in our life.  These songs were composed for guests on my other podcast "Miss Tweetie's Parents".
Reverent Beauty
2026/05/23
Send us Fan Mail Focus: Feeling love(d). This episode is about trusting the relationship between the vibrations of the music and your brain. It is also about feeling love and feeling loved. Our conscious brains are such a small portion of our brain's function. And often, our conscious brain's need for control can get in our way. Let this episode allow you to let go and simply let things happen FOR you.
Foundational Kindess
2026/04/24
Send us Fan Mail Focus: self-compassion; How do you feel when your actions affect others in a negative way? We can't be our authentic selves without stepping on other people's toes. No matter how hard we try to be our best selves, we cannot make everybody happy. We are taught that when we stand up for ourselves in a manner that is respectful toward others, we are serving them as well as ourselves. Yet, it is hard to feel like the cause of another's struggles. Self-compassion is key in finding our voices.
Natural Authenticity
2026/04/08
Send us Fan Mail Focus: finding visceral presence; How do you REALLY feel? How much of what you do when meditating is habit, and how much is an authentic response to the sounds and the words? Our logic often makes these decisions before we have a chance to really feel what is happening for us. Why? Because our brains are designed to take the familiar path. This is more efficient for our busy brains. Take a little extra time today to tune into your true feelings.
Structured Fluidity
2026/03/03
Send us Fan Mail Focus: Connection to self; How can we find our flow when our lives often have so much structure we don't feel we have room for it? Just keep connecting to self - our busiest schedules can support flow if we know how to find ourself within these boundaries. Start with this meditation. Then in moments of tension, see if you can resurrect the body memory of your breathing and relaxation. With a little practice, it can take seconds to get back there.
Just Notice & Safe Passage
2026/02/10
Send us Fan Mail Focus: letting go. For people on the go it can be hard to take a break. What if taking a break is more productive than continuing to push? What if you can let go and still be enough? Take a few minutes for yourself today and find a deeper connection that will help you support your life and your loved ones.
Solitary Resplendence
2026/01/30
Send us Fan Mail Focus: connection to self. Two songs accompany this Guided Harmony that leads you to a deeper connection to self. Inspired by a reflection on how we toe the line when we are alone between contentedness and loneliness. I believe loneliness can exist whether we are solitary or surrounded by others. It really comes down to our relationship with self. Take a few minutes for yourself today and find a deeper connection that will help you support your life and your loved ones.
Morning Musings
2025/07/19
Send us Fan Mail Focus: relaxation and grounding. Find a moment to reconnect in less than 10 minutes. Just lie back and listen. The words and music will carry you the rest of the way and have you ready to face your world again. This song was written for a highly creative soul who is the visual artist who designed my Guided Harmonies logo. He listens to meditative music in the early morning so it was fun to be inspired to create this tune.
Tempered Unpredictability
2025/06/15
Send us Fan Mail Focus: relaxation, soothing, grounding. Find a moment to reconnect in less than 10 minutes. Just lie back and listen. The words and music will carry you the rest of the way and have you ready to face your world again. When you can temper your behaviour, you are softening the extremes you participate in. We all talk about balance and presence and being grounded. But at the same time, we are all over-working, over-playing, over-spending, over-imbibing. . . what happens when we 'under-work'? Some pretty amazing things. . . and, life becomes less certain and yet more manageable. Imagine?
