Description

So...this podcast gives you a “behind the scenes” look at the side hustles, start-ups and businesses that I have worked on over the years. Showing you the pitfalls of starting and working on a side business, so you can learn from my mistakes and launch your own successful side hustle. I’ve spent over a decade working on side hustles and projects, hoping to finally find that one thing that takes off. So I can leave the constraints of the “Rat Race”, the 9-5 grind. I’m not saying I’ve been successful, yet. I’m still trying to find my one thing.

#83 - Thinking about online courses as a side hustle
2022/06/23
Over the last few years, the market for online courses and learning has completely opened up. More and more people are turning to online resources to upskill, and are willing to pay for access. I've had many ideas over the years to help people by passing on my knowledge. These ideas are perfect to become online courses In this episode, I talk about my ideas, both at a high level and go into detail about one idea in particular. I also discuss my thoughts on online courses as a side hustle from a positive and negative viewpoint.
#82 - Thinking about eBooks and digital downloads as side hustles
2022/06/16
When I first set out on my side hustle journey, many, many years ago. The suggestion was to create your own information product and see if you can sell it. In other words, eBooks and digital downloads. Who knew that this recommendation would turn into this huge market. Is creating your own digital download enough these days? Has the market and perception changed? Are they still worth investing time and money in? In this episode, I talk about the pros and cons of eBooks and digital downloads. And how I have thought about them in relation to my own side projects.
#81 - Thinking about physical products as a side hustle
2022/06/09
My background is in software and software development. I've never gone down the route of creating a physical product as a side project. That has all changed recently. I've had a few ideas for physical products over the years, but haven't taken any steps to make them a reality. Recently, I've wanted to test out a product test that I've had, but I'm finding it difficult. In this episode, I discuss the four stumbling blocks that I'm thinking about for my product idea. As well as chatting about the three key benefits I can see for creating your own physical products. I would love to know your thoughts on this.
#80 - How I'm showing up every day by using automation and systems
2022/06/02
In episode #79 I talked about my struggles with trying to show up every day and create content. Whether that's on social media, writing blogs, or recording podcasts. In this episode, I talk about how I've counteracted this inconsistency and how things have been going. It all started with binging on two courses created by a gentleman called Justin Welsh. Off the back of these courses, I've been able to batch a lot of my content creation. Coming up with frameworks and systems to come up with ideas and write content. Then use automation software that I've already purchased to get the content out each day. I hope you find this useful. Here at my affiliate links to Justin's courses and the scheduling tool I use. #79 - Showing up every day on social media and your blog(s)
2022/05/26
I've heard it from many sources and successful people. "Create content every day for a year and it will change your life and business" I wish it was that easy. As with all things, it isn't always possible. In this episode, I discuss my 2+ years of experience, trying to show up every day. And how I've been failing at this almost daily. There are so many platforms and types of media that you can publish these days. It's a fulltime job in itselfs.
#78 - Competing against the big boys, the giants of this world
2022/05/19
Have you ever been told you can't do something, and it makes you want to do it more? Like competing against the big boy, the giant businesses that seem to dominate industries. I was told by someone, that I won't be able to make anything of Elementary Analytics unless I get VC funding or massive outside investment. In this episode I give my thoughts and what I felt being told this and if it is making me think twice about working on Elementary Analytics. Spoiler alert: It isn't
#77 - My catch-up with Jesse Blount of the "Undiscovered Entrepreneur" about Elementary Analytics
2022/05/12
This episode is going to be slightly different. I'm going to share an episode of a podcast I was interviewed on called The Untitled Entrepreneur, hosted by the brilliant Jesse Blount. 6 months can go by so quickly, and we never take the time to stop and review how far we have come. This is what Jesse got to me do on his podcast, to review how things have been going with Elementary Analytics. You feel like you haven't made any progress with some of the targets your set yourself, I'm the same. It was an amazing thing to do to look back and see how much I've grown in such a short space of time. Please check out The Untitled Entrepreneur. I hope you enjoy this episode and the podcasts.

#75 - What you can learn from the phenomenon that is Wordle
2022/03/17
I don't like talking about fads, or the latest trends. Recently something has taken off and become huge. So much so that my wife and I have a daily competition. Yes, I'm talking about Wordle. Wordle impressed me straight from the get-go. It could be because I love software and building website. And the fact I record this podcast. But what can Wordle teach us to help us with our own side hustles and online businesses? That's what I'm discussing in this episode.

#73 - 10 Things I Wish That I Had Learned Earlier
2022/02/17
One morning, I was sat there thinking about what I've learned over the last 10 years of working on side projects? In fact, what are the top 10 things I've learned over the last few years alone? Once I had my top 10, I put out a LinkedIn post and Tweet about it, and people seemed to like what I'd put out there. So, I decided to turn the top 10 into a podcast, and give a bit of background about each one. Hope you enjoy it! Let me know what your top 3 from this list are. #72 - You are more than just your goals
2022/01/27
This episode isn't a long one, and it was driven by something that someone who is very close to me said: "You are more than just your goals" Launching a side hustle can be extremely difficult. If you're like me, you can put a lot of pressure on yourself to reach your goals and "succeed". I recorded this episode for those of you who may be struggling, I feel your pain.
