I started Touching Base: PR Edition in July of 2020. Stuck with nothing to do during the pandemic, I knew I wanted to make a difference and advance my career at the same time. At the time, I was doing a remote internship and trying to learn everything I could about public relations while attending a school that didn’t offer a PR major. I was paving the way for myself in the industry and wanted to help others do the same. Flash forward, almost three years later, I graduated from my masters program, moved to a new place and started my first full-time job. The kicker is that I no longer work in public relations. I’m working in game promotions and presentation for the Hudson Valley Renegades which is a cross between marketing and entertainment. Hosting my own show about public relations started to feel off.So where does that leave us? I will be re-launching Touching Base: PR Edition as simply “Touching Base”. The Touching Base Podcast will be a podcast for anyone looking to break barriers, honing in on those with careers in public relations, marketing, social media, communications and sports. Through the same fun and informative podcast episodes and interviews, listeners will gain the best understanding of the rapidly changing industries and the steps to make their own marks within it.I’ve said so many times on the show that public relations is evolving as it becomes more interspersed with social media and with marketing, which is exactly how I ended up in the role I am in now.
