Episode 199 Brian Evenson on his Pink Beam Press novella Glitch
2026/09/28
Brian Evenson should need no introduction on this podcast. Fresh off his appearance as a guest of honor at the 2026 Philip K. Dick Festival, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Last Days, Immobility, and much more has been on the podcast several times. I consider him to be the best living writer of the short form. So it was exciting for those of us at the PKD Festival that Brian published a novella for Pink Beam Press that debuted at the fest. Glitch is about 90 pages of pure SF genius. One of the best reads I have consumed this year. So in this conversation we talk PKD fest, Pink Beam press and then we go full spoilers into the writing, themes, and construction of this new novella from a master.
Episode #198 Interview with horror author Eric LaRocca on the Burnt Sparrow
2026/08/19
I have always known that Eric LaRocca is like some Brundle-fly mix of Brite, Koja, and Barker, This conversation is overdue. Eric joins me to tell his backstory, and we get into We Are Always Tender With Our Dead, the first in the Burnt Sparrow trilogy. We talk about Clive Barker, small-town horror, and the ins and outs of writing this novel.
Episode #197: Interview w/ Wole Talabi author of The Fist of Memory
2026/08/10
In this episode, I speak with Nigerian Science Fiction writer Wole Talabi about his first science fiction novel, The Fist of Memory. The Fist of Memory didn’t disappoint; the best way I think to describe it might be John Woo meets Arthur C. Clarke in Africa. It is certainly one of my favorite books I have read this year. A bullet opera that manages to combine a first contact story, noir, African cyberpunk, and hints of African magic. We talk about growing up as a SF reader in Nigeria, getting into writing and the construction of this amazing novel. •You can find my books here: Amazon-https://www.amazon.com/David-Agranoff/e/B004FGT4ZW •And me here: Goodreads-http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/2988332.David_Agranoff Twitter-https://twitter.com/DAgranoffAuthor Blog-http://davidagranoff.blogspot.com/

Returning for a fourth time! Author Alma Katsu is most well known for her historical horror novels. We are here to talk about her new contemporary horror novel Fiend. While it is simple to just say this novel is horror version of Succession is fair but this novel is an excellent exploration of the tangled webs of evil, power and greed.
